Gotta agree with this here, expectations on talk radio is sky high, setting him up to fail but i think for the most part the average fan and even the hardcore fan on this site here just hopes he manages the game well, doesn't have to put up huge numbers, just protect the ball and give the team a chance. Talk radio is just that... talk, i guess when you think about it, talk radio is kind of, well, they have so much air time to fill and only so many things to talk about really.

A page worth of excuses. Frankly I don't care about the draft and develop model, I'm talking about their chances THIS YEAR. Which don't look good. Hilarious that you bring up Chicago and Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook. Let me know when we have even one player approaching the skill level of any of them. Until then the comparison is totally invalid. Chicago sucked for 5 or 6 years... even when they had toews and kane and keith and seabrook, they weren't good for a few years, not until they all had time to develop really, Toews didn't come in and was a superstar immediately, neither was kane, neither was seabrook or keith.... It took time. Might not care about the draft and develop model but... that is what they have said since day 1 so instead of getting pissed about it, you should probably learn to embrace it cuz it isn't gonna change anytime soon. Just a simple question tho... What should they have done to improve the team this off-season? How would they have gone about and done that exactly?

I'm not convinced they could have changed the practice time that quickly.. Yeah it was forecasted but that means nothing really.. it means it might happen or it might not happen really. The weather people are so wrong all the time it's crazy, i'd say when they actually get it right, it's more surprising. Pretty sure there are rules in place and they are decided on by the PA and the CFL probably earlier in the season.. Not sure you can change it on a moments notice exactly or even on a days notice.. This would need to be done in advance i'm sure, it's probably a PA thing and i doubt the players would even allow them to change the time.. It rains it rains.. it is what it is really. Funny cuz it didn't really start raining until about 1215 1220 ish and the practice started at 12. So really... It's bitching about nothing for the sake of what exactly? Not a doctor but... looking at what happened to him near the end of the hamilton game, I would suspect it's a back or chest injury... guy was having a hard time getting back up lots of times.. that hamitlon D, eventho someone thought they gave up at half, certainly were laying the boom late in the game.

Not sure if people have paid attention but from DAY 1, the Jets have always said that the plan is to draft and develop. I'm not sure why anyone thinks otherwise to be honest, they have said it since DAY 1. Draft and Develop, won't overpay for free agents, it won't happen and probably never will. The Jets are a draft and develop team and have made no secrets about that. So we lost Frolik, big deal really... Ehlers and Burmi should be able to replace his production and maybe even do more... Losing Frolik is not gonna be the end of the world.. Who else did they lose really? Nobody that they didn't want too Slater,Tlusty,Stempniak? Oh well, 2 were rentals and 1 was a joke really... all 3 were not offered contracts by the Jets and so far, have not been offered contracts by any team in the league... They just lost frolik and will replace him with the youngsters...ITs been the plan since day 1. No playoffs? We will see about that but... all i know is, better get used to losing players and seeing youth injected in to the line up cuz that's how they have said it's gonna be. Scheif,Lowry,Myers,Trouba... all young players that will continue to grow with the team.... Add Ehlers and Burmi and maybe some others like Morrissey Lemieux and Petan or Copp... It's how you build a team really, you don't go out in free agency and over pay guys... honestly the free agent class this year was the weakest its been in years, when a guy like Frolik is considered one of the top guys available, it's a weak class.. If you actually look at teams like Chicago for example, they drafted and developed there guys too (Toews,Kane,Keith,Seabrook etc) Saad who they had to trade even, so many others too, they don't go out and sign free agents galore, neither does Detroit, they promote from with in and it works... The teams who go out and sign all these free agents to big money deals, hows it work for them exactly? Ask the leafs how signing Clarkson worked for them or Flordia how signing Bolland worked out for them. The biggest question for the Jets really isn't... can they make the playoffs or what have they done to replace the guys they have lost (the one guy)... It's can they get league average goaltending again? Cuz if they can, then this team probably does make the playoffs... That's been the problem tho, That's the real problem with the team... It's goaltending and until it's fixed, you just don't know what you are gonna get with them. League average goaltending and the team makes the playoffs, Pav struggles as does Hutch? No chance... Better than league average goaltending? They might surprise some people and instead of being a wildcard team, finish near the top of the central.

Being a healthy scratch don't mean you are healthy tho. If you watch the game last week near the end Veltung got nailed several times near the end and seemed to be nicked up. I doubt they would sit him if he was healthy. The conspiracy stuff is fun but.... it's not really worth talking about.

Just a question for those who actually know the numbers... Taking out the 2 hamilton games, how many sacks have we allowed? And then Taking out the Edmonton game also... how many sacks have we allowed? I'm curious about this because... those 2 teams play similar type of D where everyone else.. not so much.. Just curious what the numbers look like sacks against wise if you removed both hamitlon games and the one Edmonton game? Anyone have any idea?

Well, Short passes, 5 yard passes, if the D is concentrating on containing you, short little passes could probably turn in to long gains, screen passes, play action type stuff, gotta use the run game... if the D gets to greedy at times, look for the long one over the top.

Basically, it's time for our backup QBs to **** or get off the damn pot... Step up, don't care who steps up... Just somebody, step up and show you can win a damn game without Willy.

Let's hope we go Moore,Denmark,Gordon,Veltung,Kohlert then cuz if they take Veltung off the roster, man that's a dumb move. This starting 8 Canadians thing needs to stop. I don't know if it's just them being stubborn or stupid but... Veltung is better than JFG and should definitely be starting ahead of him and considering Westerman,Hurl,Bucknor,3 Oline, Kohlert... There is no need to start 2 Canadian receivers.

I would suggest you have a very short memory then. It wasn't like Calgary Depth or anything but nobody has that depth, it's not toronto depth but again Millanovich is a QB making machine really... We definitely had better depth than BC and still do in my opinion, Definitely better than Montreal... Might even be better than Hamilton, It's basically collaros or nothing there... definitely better than Ottawa, who is the backup to Henry even? Don't kid yourself man, OUR QB depth definitely wasn't Calgary or Toronto but nowhere near the bottom that's for sure. Probably in the middle...

Honestly, I have mentioned in the past that i'd love to see marve fail but really it's just directed at people who were pimping him like he was the next best thing. I don't want to see him fail, i want to see him play well, win the damn game really. Go Marve, Go Bombers, SHOCK THE WORLD... Shut people up... Would love to see Marve go out there and have the game of his life and bombers go out there and destroy the argos... would love to see that, Hope it happens, really do.. If people honestly are hoping for Marve to fail tho and werent just frustrated at the constant PLAY MARVE stuff after every loss, well, they aren't really fans to begin with are they? Agreed. But then Brohm played this year and sucked and then it all changed. But definitely bang on, not just the off-season but a few short weeks ago, b4 Brohm went out and played people loved our QB depth, even talked of trading one to SASK or Montreal even. Just to touch on something there, (prior to getting hurt), was a thumb injury right? perhaps it hasn't fully healed and that's part of his problem this season. Cuz people can go on and on about Brohm but the one thing he did have last year was a strong arm, this year, not so much. Makes you wonder about that injury he had.
