  1. Good luck to Lirim. Classy for sure. Wouldn't expect anything less afterall if not for Walters specifically and the Bombers... most of us would have no idea who Lirim is. Bombers gave him a shot.
  2. I get that some people are probably living in the past and think you have to have X number of National oline. I get it. That's how it used to be. But thing is the D's around the league have evolved and gotten better. DL are now mostly made of dominating Americans trained in the NCAA taking on cis trained CDNS. You have exceptions like Laurent but he's not CIS trained. What that means to me and what that tells me is.... sure having 3 or 4 or 5 Canadian starters on the Oline would be nice but.... it's not necessary cuz now you see CDN rbs. Receivers. DE. DT. LB. DB. I guess put it this way.... you have to start a minimum of 7 Canadian players right. Who says most have to be on the oline tho? It wouldn't surprise me if we go 3 internationals on the oline and 2 nationals in Chungh and Goossen. And I think what you will see soon is lots of teams going to more international based Oline because quite simply.... your QB is your biggest investment and I'm order to keep that investment upright... why not play your national talent elsewhere. Let's look at this year's potential National starters RB Harris OL Chungh Goossen Neufeld WR Kohlert DL Shologan Westerman LB Hurl DB Bucknor S Waggoner That's 10 guys who can start Let's just pretend Waggoner doesn't start... you got 9 still... Hurl? That's 8 still.... Neufeld? Still 7 starting. Meaning 3 internationals on the oline doesn't seem to be that far fetched What they have done this week in signing Shologan and Harris is give themselves some massive ratio flexibility
  3. I don't think Pav would agree to be sent down. He refused years ago. Atlanta was forced to make a choice between him and Lehtonen. They chose Pav.
  4. I actually agree with that. Pav and Ladd for Kempe and a 2nd maybe more
  5. Weirdly enough. He is still producing at a second line level
  6. 5.5 x 5 or 6 is fair. 5 million x 7 is fair also
  7. Then Ladd needs to lower his demands. It's a 2 Way street here.
  8. Pav or Hutch will be traded soon enough. It's the right move for now. Jets are now in semi tank mode.
  9. You are kidding yourself if you think these guys are perfect little angels. The bogo stuff wasn't rumors. It was fact. Fact that can be proven but isn't allowed to be
  10. LOL. not a chance. PAVELEC SUCKS... everyone knows it. I don't understand how you don't Frosty. LOL. Helle put up better numbers than PAV has... that's reality, The goaltending is not the issue, with PAV this team is dead last in the league cuz he doesn't steal any games.... This is temporary, Jets didn't need a veteran goaltender at all... Hellebuyck has better numbers than 90 percent of the starters in the league.
  11. Helle is the goaltender of the future. He doesn't require waivers. I agree with TUP... a trade is in the works for one of Pav or Hutch and Helle will be back up shortly. Maurice even called it short term. Helle will be back soon. Pav or Hutch will be traded. Count on it. Reality tho, If PAV didn't get hurt, Helle would have spent the entire year with the Moose, he's on his ELC, he doesn't require waivers, Hutch and Pav do and while it's somewhat unlikely they would get picked up on waivers, they might. Trade in the works for sure. In the mean time, the Tank Commander duo is back... I guess, if not for Helle, we probably would be last place in the league right now. He came in and did his job almost too well actually, cuz my guess is if PAV and Hutch were starting all year, we'd probably be dead last.
  12. Yup and eventhough we all sit here and talk about bombers year round, the reality is the masses don't. The masses are watching the JETS and by may, lol, they are already done but by MAY...they will be officially.
  13. I will admit that i have heard about those Trouba issues but those aren't the ones i was talking about as i Feel trading BOGO was pretty much the end of that problem. I was more referring to his off ice workout issues, he's not really committed to the game off the ice, he doesn't work out, he's not a gym guy. He needs to probably show that he is more committed off the ice first then he will get paid nicely. Cuz right now, I dunno if i give Trouba a long term deal or not, I'm not sure If i even keep him around if his off ice issues are as serious as some say they are. Brandon is referring to things that happened when BOGO was around, I'd like to think that those are non issues now. I hope they are cuz if they aren't, and this is just me guessing cuz really that's all any of us can actually do, then it's very serious and he needs some help but it seems the Jets have provided that with the hiring of his brother and his brother Copp and Trouba all living together now. I dunno what to believe anymore. Sometimes I think people make things up, other times i think there is some truth there.
  14. or maybe they agree to trade him but wink wink nudge nudge to sign him in the off-season. Let him go chase another cup and then come back. It's not unheard of.
  15. I would suggest that we are probably just gonna bring in some street free agents, you will see some releases also, a few vets (Turner being the most obvious one) and Peach and perhaps Anderson but i do like Zach as i think he's a gamer but was coming off injury last year, would like to see him back rotating with Cummings. Think outside of Westerman, Anderson was our best DL by far. Cole/Green/Vaughn and others will compete for the DE spot opposite Westerman Cummings and Shologan will be our DT. Anderson could very well be a backup rotational guy with Cummings. Thomas will be the guy who rotates with Shologan LB's are set... The only real question mark for me is SAM... and that's gonna be 1 of Randle or Leggett more than likely DB's If Randle moves back there Randle,Adams,Johnson,Bucknor is most likely Safety, I'd like to see Waggoner back there or Teague Sherman for that matter. and that gives up potentially 4 starting Canadians on the D. You could eliminate Bucknor and just go with an all american Defensive BAckfield.. might be the smartest thing to do. On O Willy.Nichols. Davis/Bennett/WIlliams or whatever his name is Daniels,Neufeld,Goossen,Chungh,Bryant. Keeping. Dressler,Denmark,Smith,Adams (or Rookie), Kohlert Harris That's potentially 9 Starting Canadians, I would suggest based on Walters comments, that's it's more likely we start the minimum 7 or possibly 8 Canadians maximum. So in reality, you could eliminate Bucknor and replace him with an american to get you down to 8 starting Canadians. I think the 8 other guys in bold, not including Bucknor are pretty much a lock to start... Waggoner probably isn't a lock but... i think it's probably best to start a CDN safety than a CB... and yeah i get that the CB doesn't really get that many looks his way but... i think the smarter thing to do is play an american where Bucknor plays. I also think it's possible we go 3 internationals on the OLINE.
  16. Pav will start Saturday then. Going to the Moose game earlier in the day so i'll get to see Helle probably
  17. Unreal... Helle sent to the Moose. Pav activated from IR. the TANK IS ON. Another questionable coaching decision.
  18. Trouba should probably get more than Murray but less than other RFA d men like Lindholm and Reilly. I'd say if they bridge him, 2 years 6 million. If they go long term, it's gonna be more 7 or 8 x 5.5 or 6 million a year. Trade Myers, Trade Enstrom.
  19. I like Maurice as a coach but... he has a tendency to throw his rookies under the bus a little too much and stick up for his vets too much. Excellent example of that is Stuart or Thorburn, goes to great lengths to defend them. Then you look at his comments last night after the game about Hellebuyck and he basically threw him under the bus. Maurice, as much as some may not want to admit it, he's a career .500 coach, He's not the best coach, he's not the worst, he's average. There are plenty of coaches better than him. The fact is, Maurice was out of coaching in the NHL for many years, he was passed over by multiple teams multiple times. I like him but I'm not sure he's the right coach for the Job. If this team continues to suck next season, Maurice will be let go. It's that simple and that's pretty it for him coaching in the NHL then. I like the guy but he does a lot of things that makes you question him. And don't tell me that Frolik Stemp and whoever else from last year makes this team go from bottom 5 to playoff contender cuz that's a load of crap. Buff,Wheeler and the rookies have been our best players this year and it's not even close.. by rookies i will also include Scheif eventho he is not a rookie but on a nightly basis, when the team is doing well, it's not guys like Ladd stepping up or even Little, who is having a down year himself, it's Ehlers, It's Scheif.. It's Wheeler, It's Buff, and it's Helle stealing games the Jets have no business winning.
  20. There is always the possibility that he is traded but then signed in the off-season to a more reasonable contract. That's not as far fetched as i originally thought it might be. Let's be honest here, The Cap won't be rising that much if at all, it might even lower because of the CDN dollar, if it does or stays the same, which contender actually has cap space? None of them really do so it's very possible Ladd is traded to a contender and then ends up signing back here in the off-season. Much like Vermette did with Arizona. I don't think Ladd will get close to 6 million as a UFA, i just don't see teams paying that much anymore for guys in their 30's. The landscape has somewhat changed recently.. we saw it last off-season, guys didn't get as much money as they normally do. Teams are up against the CAP. and If I'm ladd, I'd rather sign back here where maybe we have a chance of making the playoffs next season then somewhere else like let's just say Toronto who has tons of cap space but not much of a chance at the playoffs. Ladds wife wants to stay. That's the bottom line. She wants to stay, her practice is doing very well and to start up elsewhere would be a pain. She loves it here, much Like Buff and Wheelers wives, they love it here and want to stay.
  21. Ladds wife is a doctor more specifically an optometrist with her own practice that she set up here. She doesn't want to leave and start over in a new city
  22. Your first point.... that's coaching. I agree with the PSA line
  23. Don't think Ladd will budge. His wife wants to stay tho so maybe he does. Anything above 6 is 2 much so 6 years x 5.5 would be fine
  24. Chicago or Dallas let's say.. 1st and high end prospect cuz those 1st Rd picks will be late Ideally a LHD prospect and 1st Totally depends on who you trade him too. Late firsts IMO should also include a near ready preferably LHD prospect If some bubble team wants him... then a 1st and not do high end prospect. Again tho. .. LHD prospect Anaheim I'd do their first and Larson. I'd do Theodore straight up. It totally depends. Perhaps a bidding war breaks out and you get more Chicago let's say... 1st and Ville Pokka. He's a d prospect. Washington I'd want bowey. Yeah they both might be rhd... not sure about Pokka but those are the guys I'd want.
  25. So blaming 2 4th liners a rookies? K. Cool
