Tens to agree. The QB can definitely make or break an O. Willy hasn't been very good. His first try at going deep last game was with 6 minutes to go in the 3rd. That's a problem. A QB problem.

FWIW a jets insider of sorts at hfboards.com said the plan is long term for Trouba. Thought is trouba wants 6 years. Jets want 7. These long term deals aren't easy to make. Like I said 7 years 38 million. However it's not as simple as 5.5 or whatever a year. It could start at 4 or less and years 6 and 7 could be 6.5 plus. These long term deals take time. I'd start to get concerned if it's mid to late August. Until then... Lindholm Monahan Goudreau ristolainen etc etc etc still aren't signed also

Don't see many teams with the cap space to do it, Just don't see it and for the Jets not to match, that team would have to probably give up their next 4 first round picks... I just don't see it happening, Trouba is good, he's not worth 4 firsts tho and the reality seems to be the teams who do have the space, they are probably further away than the Jets are to be competing.

It's an interesting game tho, will tell us a few things for sure... 1. Is Willy the biggest problem? 2. If Nichols looks the same or worse, then is the OC the problem? 3. Is it the OL that is the issue? Looks like 3 american hogs this week so that should i repeat SHOULD help, 4. Are receivers the issue? The only way teams can do that is by offer sheeting him and that's not gonna happen. It doesn't happen, it really happens once in a blue moon and if it were to happen, it would have already. Jets control his rights, they will sign him for what they think is fair value, if not, he will sit and LIKE IT. I actually think between 5 and 5.5 is the going rate for D men of Troubas caliber, People do need to remember he's been saddled with Mark Stuart pretty much and still his fancy stats are pretty damn good, I think Reilly and Jones are more than fair comparables, i just went 38 over 7 instead of 30 over 6 because you are buying an extra UFA year.

It's really all about the Money Willy is making isn't it? Cuz if he was making Nichols money or even a bit more, perhaps he sticks around... But he's being paid eLITE QB money so it really is tough to say what happens. I don't know if he gets cut or traded? can you trade a guy making that type of money? I don't think you can. I'll just add... I think it's very likely he gets another chance, when? I don't know but i think it could be sooner than people think, like sometime thursday if Nichols struggles or next week type of soon.
