Nobody knows more about elite athleticism than 35 to 70 year old men online who don’t play pro. I also don’t get the hate as he’s a versatile smart starting Canadian. Starting Canadians prob should get paid. I mean it is the Canadian football league. The whining about cap allocation is also hilarious as nobody really has a clue there. There is no cfl salary cap site that updates every 2 hours. I mean. Who cares. It’s really not our concern.

Thing is when you’re good you don’t get high draft picks. Highest pick was Laine but originally we were supposed to be drafting 7th or so, believe scheif was taken 9th so none of our actually 1sts were less than 7th overall. When you are good those 1sts become later picks and most those guys actually don’t make a difference. If we get a legit top 3 or 5 pick this year that’s our 1st legit top 5 pick since returning. We won Laine. Who is 22 23 on the moose? Expecting 3rd round and later dudes to be top 6 talent is a wild take. Guys with potential on the moose currently are Salo Yager Chibrikov and that’s about it currently but Freij and Sasha are 2 strong D prospects and He and Walton are 2 very good forward prospects. Lambert is a bust. Ford is a 4th liner in the nhl. Reality is when you have a chance and your pick is gonna be between 22 and 32 most years, you trade it. None of the picks we traded have turned into game changers. Management isn’t on the ice. Honestly injuries and just players who appear washed up but what do you do. Do you trade Nyquist Pearson Schenn and miller and the sorts? For what? A bag of pucks cuz none are bringing back a 1st 2nd or 3rd. Bring up the young guys after the trade deadline then go on a roll and **** our chances at a high pick. McKenna Ivar S and the NoDak D are game changers. here’s the problem. We got scheif Connor and Vilardi plus Perfetti when healthy (he’s not) And emerging talent like Morgan Barron but then we got a whole bunch of 4th line guys including the captain Nino Iafallo (that would be the perfect 4th line actually ) Toews Pearson Nyquist and name it really. That’s the problem. We don’t have top 6 talent. We have plenty of 4th line talent.

People underrating holm. He’d fit in with what Pittsburgh does quite well. Personally I think he’s our best option at safety.

With a win we are 31st in the league and is it 6 or 8 points out of the playoffs lol. That’s ridiculous in itself. Only a few points back of the wildcard teams. I don’t think we can compete with Dallas Colorado or Minnesota anymore. We need a franchise changer to do it.

I’ll say this. Colorado wasn’t awful then they were one year and won MacKinnon. McKenna and any of the top 3 4 5 talent this draft improves our team instantly. There’s the silver lining. McKenna would be franchise changing. id like to see us move on from Pearson Nyquist schenn miller and even Toews but I’m not sure what we getting in return for any of them. I mean. None are returning 1sts id move them for what I can get, maybe Nino and names available also but ya bring up the kids and maybe make a trade involving lambert for a nhl forward if possible lambert has sucked tho

I just don’t get the logic. Marchand Stone Horvat and Wilson is just insane. I remember when we took the best players and dominated. Now they building lines and having roles for lesser talented slow players. 55 and Bédard not making it is just it’s stupidity. Point makes some sense. Cirelli don’t.

I’d agree with this. Wilson and 40 year old Marchand makes no sense. Bedard not on the team doesn’t make sense either. Horvat over Scheifele is also mind numbing Josh was guaranteed to make it. He was at the 4 nations and everything. He made the team. That was obvious. Scheifele not making it is bullshit.

They played well enough to win but Winnipeg born goalies have the games of their careers against the jets in Winnipeg. It’s just a thing. Pickard was like 4.5 goals against per game. Dude stood on his head.

Seems like Jake was in the video room lots. He put in time. He wasn’t great as a player but that probably doesn’t matter. Wade was a Jake back in his day lol, kinda different situations cuz Wade has a successful business career but similar really cuz both weren’t great players. Dinwiddie wasn’t good. Buck wasnt the best but not the worst. Osh was a good Canadian player, Mike miller our sp teams guy, he wasn’t an all star. I mean. I don’t want to go through teams in the cfl and look but guaranteed half the positional coaches were just dudes who played a few seasons or not even. They just played high school some of them. College. I mean. Who cares really. It’s pretty common for Former players to become coaches. And besides Jake isn’t gonna make Willie less lazy or any of that. He’s not the DC ffs. But I’m hoping our DL has a great year regardless. In reality shouldn’t be hard for Jake and crew to improve on 10 sacks all year really. Our DL sucked last year. I mean nowhere to go but up for them. And despite the narrative for a dude who played 13 years all in blue n gold, it wasn’t just him. And there’s some comedy in ppl on the internet sites thinking they know more than dude who played for 13 years in the pros plus school and prior years of actually playing football but yeah. Yes. SJ and Chicago 100 percent and buffalo in the McDavid draft 100 percent tanked but it was easy for them as they didn’t have a 40 goal scoring winger. A ppg center and a legit mvp goaltender. Players won’t “tank” but management and coaches can do things to help the team lose tho. If I didn’t know any better I’d think Arniel and Chevy are kind of tanking this season as they are not playing the 12 best forwards or 6 best d every game. Also Arniel constantly says he likes Toews game. I mean either Toews needs coddling or Arniel is delusional

Wilson pretty much done confirmed. Only QB back from last year will be Zach and Artopoeous. I do wonder if Streveler is added as a coach tho. Right now it’s Zach and 3 guys with zero cfl actual game experience. Only way they throw a ball is if Zach is hurt tho.

They won’t rebuild. Not with 55 81 37 all signed long term. They will retool and if that means tanking this season I think that’s ok. McKenna is a franchise player. SJ pretty much. Sharks. He worked his way up the PA also, is respected by every player he lined up beside and every player he lined up against. Below average player? Sure but so were tons of guys who went on to become great coaches. Don’t we have a statue outside PAS of one of those dudes. I’m not saying Jake is shedeur sanders and gonna be legendary but sounds like being a coach takes a certain mindset that Jake apparently has.

The DL coach was Patterson last year. He either retired or was forced to retire. Jake is now the DL coach. To me, Jake as DL coach is like Mike miller becoming a coach immediately afterwards also and last year he was our best coordinator in my opinion so there’s some hope there. Sounds like Jake is well liked and respected throughout the league, regardless of talent or lack off, he was a fine rotational piece tho but regardless of that 13 years of pro football = wealth of knowledge. Just cuz Jake wasn’t athletic enough doesn’t mean he doesn’t know things. I think he’s gonna turn out to be a very good coach for us. I get that feeling. Hogan? After listening to the O’Shea audio, I feel like he’s back because someone else was supposed to be OC but said no so they hired in house and O’Shea feels bad he set hogan up to fail. “First and foremost, it starts with me and making sure I’m holding everybody accountable to a higher standard. We just didn’t play up to our standard last year, especially on offence. Osh taking accountability for sure. If ppl haven’t listened they should and while you get the jets Chevy talk with Osh a bit, he definitely takes the blame and heat for everything last year. No specifics cuz resetting the culture means keeping things in house but I’m not sure I’ve heard a more humble O’Shea than I did in that audio.
