  1. No spark, no fire. We just witnessed a football exhibition devoid of even one exciting offencive play executed by the home team, and on "Cow Bell Night" to boot! Lucky those damn things didn't come raining down upon the field after that performance. Poor Brian Brohm would be scarred for life. "More cow bells Brian?" Nnoooooooo!!!
  2. Got to wonder if O'Shea inspires any level of fear in his players, often that is the only thing that works when positive motivation fails. He was a mean-ass player but I don't get the impression that he's a mean-ass coach.
  3. I may have had one too many brown ales last night but I thought I saw shades of Warren Moon in Franklin's performance. Very calm presence and smooth delivery and frankly a little boring to watch him perform. I like QB's with a little bit more frenetic energy that will throw the ball with either hand if need be.
  4. Because he, and the OL as a whole, aren't playing to our expectations. I was very excited when we signed Picard, but I've changed my mind. For all criticizing the signing of Picard, do you really think Chungh would be playing as well as he has in his first year if he had Morley as a teacher? An O-Line of "gentle giants" has not served the Bombers well in the past. I understand some people need a whipping boy but I think Picard adds value to the O-Line as a whole with his attitude and leadership even if it is only for the remainder of this year.
  5. Louie Richardson has been hiding out on the 6 game all year.
  6. He doesn't play nearly as much anymore. That's probably an intelligent way to use him, keeps him healthy for the clutch plays and games.
  7. Watson seems to be having a decent season wth the Esks. at least managing to stay healthy.
  8. Can't stand Calgary summers, bloody chilly when the sun goes down and the wind is always annoying. Great for sleeping. Not if you're homeless.
  9. Yes. As another poster said, Mtl is in turmoil. Ottawa has the same problem as us, unproven coaching. If Ottawa has an edge on us I believe it is Henry Burris and his experience. We don't have a veteran leader like that, someone that can teach the players how to win. We have to rely on Mike O'Shea for that and thusfar the results have been sporadic at best. Marcel Bellefeuille could have been that guy but I don't think he is up to the challenge either. We sorely lack the coaching and/or veteran leadership required. I wish we had a Buono type here to serve as an adviser to O'Shea. We also have a multiple time Grey Cup champion defensive coordinator with a couple decades of CFL experience. True. It's ST that really baffles me. With O'Shea's experience as ST coach and him bringing in his pal, Pat Tracey, I can't understand why ST play has been so poor this year. Calgary will feast on our STs if that doesn't change fast. Interesting scenario next year in Calgary with Dave Dickenson taking over as HC with the Stamps. Will he bring back his brother Craig as ST Coordinator & let Mark Killam go? Killam is a pretty good young coach & has had a lot of success with the Stamps as ST Coordinator. He may be available. Or Dave just may decide to leave the present Stamps coaching staff in place. It doesn't look like O'Shea is willing to deep six his buddy Tracey or he would have done it already. I think that remains to be seen, any major ST flubs that cost them games from this point onward will be duly noted and should be accounted for. I can't see O'Shea added ST coach to his duties as he's maxed out but if Tracey doesn't at least attain consistent performance, replacement is possible. Dyce in Sask. might be a possible contender.
  10. Injury prone, much like C.J. Gable. Bombers are good at RB imo.

  12. Same goes for Waggoner, thought he would have worked his way into the lineup by now if he is the stud everyone hoped for. Waggoner has dressed every game this year... he just hasn't taken any defensive reps (that I can recall) Yah, that's what I mean. He seems to be on par with Newman and Sherman in terms of mostly playing S.T.

  14. Can't see this as being much of a concern as long as they're winning handily, I'm sure they'll make adjustments as needed to strengthen their run game going into the home stretch.
  15. Ugh...starting lineup at O-Line and D-Line is looking all too familiar, upgrading of these two areas has been glacial.

Calgary will feast on our STs if that doesn't change fast. We put too much pressure on our young Canadians to perform on special teams. Not enough veteran Canadians there and no American studs. Looking back a couple years you see Americans like Suber and B. Stewart leading the charge, or guys like Deon Lacey in Edmonton. We don't have that this season. Too much pressure on second year guys like Derek Jones and Jesse Briggs. They are still young... Coaching good or bad, young guys will **** up. That's just the way it is and you have to limit it by using better personnel. Do you not mean Marty Markett? I believe he had more of an impact than Suber, and please don't forget about the S.T. work of the great, unheralded, unwanted sssuper-star Don Unamba.
  17. Missed most of the game, how did it come to be that Marsh was at the helm?
  18. Woohoo! Mtl. exposes the template to defeat the Ti-Cats!
  19. I think JFG suits Marve's game pretty well, in that he can catch well in traffic and seems to pay enough attention to make adjustments in his routes to accommodate Marve's scrambling. Not the time to insert a rookie or an in-experienced receiver like Stoudermire, neither of which has showed any football acumen so far.
  20. I find it hard to believe Higgins had anything to do with the Michael Sam sideshow. Sam should have been released outright the first time he walked away, mental problems or not. Allowing him to come back for another episode made no sense especially since it now looks to be at least partially responsible for causing a rift in the organization.
