  1. There were two plays in a row where Greaves and Picard were double-teaming that guy who rubbed his gut. They literally didn't get a hand on him on the second play and he came straight through his gap untouched, on the first Greaves engaged him for about a second and a half, moved him inside to the double team while Picard watched the guy wander into the backfield. If Picard doesn't want to block anyone maybe he should retire. As mediocre as Morley was made out to be, I don't ever remember him getting run over like Picard does. I believe Picard was signed for the hype more than his actual playing ability. Walters has to get smarter.
  2. I'm making the assumption that he's old and doesn't like to get hit so he avoids it at all costs. A lot of QB's get like that when they're past 30. 40 in Burris's case. I tell this to my wife all the time....but she just doesn't listen.
  3. Poor Mike, he has trouble drawing conclusions from Coyote and Road Runner cartoons.
  4. Firing Tracy is like putting on one rubber boot to walk across a muddy field, it's better but it's still not right. Hopefully the other boot is lying just on the other side of the field and the Bombers have just not found it yet.
  5. If you can figure out the answer to that question it might also explain why he has no problem with 50 yd. FG's but screws up converts.
  6. I doubt they stay with Dyce, management seems to be looking for a splashy make-over to open their new stadium. I would expect they chase after the biggest names available during the off-season and Dyce will go back to being ST coordinator or move on.
  7. Cody Ledbetter, once the star quarterback for New Mexico State and later a disgraced high school football coach, was found dead in Aledo, Texas, on Saturday morning. According to the Star-Telegram, the Parker County Sheriff's office said the 42-year-old Ledbetter "apparently killed himself," though an official ruling on Ledbetter's death will be made by the medical examiner's office. Ledbetter played quarterback at New Mexico State from 1991 to 1995, leading the nation in total offense in 1995 then later playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League. His post-playing career as a teacher and assistant coach at Alvarado High School ended in scandal, with Ledbetter pleading guilty to having sex with a 16-year-old in 2004. He fled the country before being sentenced and finally surrendering to Canadian authorities in 2010. Full story. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoot...-dead-in-texas
  8. Reilly will be Reilly, injured leg or not he's going to run. If I was Jones I would make sure he was 100% before letting him play again. They're in the playoffs, so nothing to gain rushing him back.
  9. Just one Collaros injury away from being in the same boat as the rest of the CFL teams imo. O'Shea mentioned on the last Coach's show that NFL teams are hording QB's, that could be part of the problem as well.
  10. It's a serious issue, there are already more NFL fans than CFL fans in T.O., Vancouver and maybe Cgy. If CFL games are seen as a joke, the next generation of fans is lost. Perception is everything.
  11. Tor 1 Ham 27 T.O. 1 with a few mins. left in the first half. This season seems to be chock full of blowouts and lousy games. Not sure this was in the CFL's game plan.
  12. Can't believe Gale has not been scooped up yet. What is the matter with these people???
  13. Walte Walters has done quite well winning auctions for Bryant, Westerman and Waggoner hopefully his luck continues with Henoc and or Wild.
  14. Sask. offence looked absolutely dynamic compared to the Bombers, and that's saying something really awful. I cry for Clarence.
  15. There are 3 phases to the game and none have been very good. The D has begun to come along but ST and O not so much. Has lack of discipline become the hallmark for this club? When you look at the leadership - someone made a critical error by not having an Offensive mind among them. You've got Miller, Walters, MOS all Canadian guys with experience on Special Teams. It would an overstatement to say they don't know squat about the offence - but they don't know enough. Its all been delegated and gone off the rails. Maybe Danny Mac needs to be involved in the O. Or someone like Dunigan. Definitely not Lapo or Buck Pierce. There is little evidence that Danny Mac is competent at the job he has been given, you want to give him another?
  16. Continuing to use Lirim as both punter and place-kicker is just another example of ignoring the mounting evidence that things are not working out the way "these guys" planned in the off-season. Apparently they think waiting till next off-season to make corrections is the proper approach to attaining league domination.
  17. Wade Miller stated when he was hired that he was not going to interfere with the day to day running of the team. His responsibility is to over-see the GM and let the people he hired do their jobs. It is up to Walters to deal with the problems below him in the coaching and player selection.
  18. I think its both. The roster is bad. Really, really bad. I don't think a really good offense is even a possibility until we have a decent OL and QB. It will help to have Nichols there but its not like he's great either. Regardless, asking someone to build an offense with Brohm or Marve is equivalent to handing someone keys to a car with a dead battery. We're struggling to find Americans at positions that shouldn't be hard to find good ones - RB, WR, DL to some extent. Kudos to Walters for finding Bass and Adams, but we need more than just a couple of additions a year to turn this team around. For all the praise that Walters gets as some Canadian scouting guru, there are still problems. How bad is Goossen that he can't earn work over Dom Picard? Addison Richards is halfway to a redshirt season. Walters has had some good ideas and even perhaps a good overall plan, but its not coming together. I think AKAChip did a great job elaborating on Walters' problems last week. The roster is bad but the team is also being hampered by poor decisions, and that's on O'Shea. The only roster changes we seem to make are just due to injury. Hat tip to AKAChip for this line, but when was the last time a player lost his job for poor play? No one is being held accountable. He is loyal, but I fear that he thinks loyalty will somehow improve a player. That over time it'll just all come together. I'm all for patient, but making changes halfway through a season no longer counts as overreacting. Change your roster or expect the same result. Also, its never a good sign when the part of the team your coach is most experienced with (special teams) absolutely blows. I would disagree that the Bombers talent level is bad at RB, WR or DL. These 3 categories are not even on the radar as being problem areas with this team. #1 problem coaching. #2 problem QB.
  19. No kidding, start of the bye week was the perfect timing to can MB. I'm far from a football expert but what I witnessed on the football field today is exactly what I expected to see. I have to wonder what O'Shea and Walters thought they were going to see?
  20. I am no longer sure that the team believes it can win any more, and that extends right into the coaching ranks, and perhaps even to the GM. 's ability to find the right players to fill the obvious holes. More pressure than ever to sign Muamba next week, the fans and the management need a big distraction from this teams piss-poor performance.
  21. Those lucrative "Recycle Everywhere" gigs should be enough to tip the scale in favour of Wpg.
  22. I'd take Crompton over Nichols if he was available.
