  1. Nichols is a little more mobile and moves the pocket more than our other QBs this season. Protection, or perceived lack of protection may not be as much of an issue with him. 2. The Bombers don't need to sneak into the playoffs, they're going to march into the playoffs behind "The Man".
  3. The stumbling is forecast to continue onward, they can't even make Andrew Harris look good.
  4. Home and away left against the RB's but those will be tough to win unless Hank makes an appearance.
  5. Can't force Nichols to sign a contract. I never said that & can't figure out how you came to that conclusion. What I mean is Walters would (hopefully) find a way financially to sign him. Look at the game in BC today. John Beck is no starting CFL qb & he's 34 years old. Just a mirror image of what we had with Brian Brohm. Why would CFL teams sign washed up, old, has been qbs who never did anything as pro qbs? Fans in BC like Winnipeg aren't stupid. Beck shouldn't even be on the Lions roster & why wouldn't Buono have signed a younger more promising qb? They have less than 20,000 in attendance because BC fans are fed up. The Lions are dying. Tedford and Wally may be in danger of being ousted before O'Shea and Walters. Wally had a good run but it looks like it's over.
  6. BC can't stand pat with this QB lineup, they have to come up with something better after Lulay.
  7. Believe it or not, 3rd is a real possibility.
  8. Burris and the O looking very competent, this is going to be a difficult team for the Bombers to beat. They have a better chance in Mtl. next week.
  9. That is not unique. You pretty much described the roster management that every professional sports team goes through, every team has a structure, they aren't making decisions in a vacuum. Different managers place different values on certain positions and factors. Muamba would be comparable to Cornish in terms of Canadians playing traditional import positions, break the bank-ers. There aren't many teams paying running backs as much as Calgary does, basically them and BC. That is not unique. 10. RB's moving the ball well but putrid in the red zone.
  11. Interpret it how you like, BC has grabbed momentum and is about to strangle it.
  12. Rewatch the first Bomber/RB game from last year to see how Chevy can be used. He looked fantastic in that game. If the Bomber could work him in as an escape receiver and get him space he might do well.
  13. Shusterfruit, RB's recover a fumble on the BC 4 and only get 3. BC wakes up, march the field and score 8.
  14. I was really hoping the BC vs. RB game was in Ottawa, the RB's play at a much higher level when they're in front of their own fans. Here's hoping they put BC down.
  15. My biggest concern with Nichols as always under MB is protecting him from injury. 4 sacks plus 7 runs provides plenty of opportunity for broken bones and dislocated brain functions....and before you know it we'll be back to watching "The Brian Brohm Show" part two after this word from our sponsors.
  16. Good point, we have witnessed how having a poor performance by the backup QB's effects the entire teams play negatively and yet the D has survived the entire season with a mediocre MLB and has performed adequately. The D and Hurl have been improving steadily while the O has struggled mightily with and without Willy. If the vote is for a difference maker I would have to side with Nichols. If he can eek out a .500 record in the remainder of his starts this season, he will have fulfilled my expectations of a backup QB.
  17. I agree, that call was questionable as was the Smith being tagged by a leg when Bucknor recovered. I wish they would just simplify the rule so that if a knee, elbow or ass is in contact with the ground than the play is dead. Disallow this getting back up and running nonsense.
  18. If Wpg. shows Nichols some love, I'd bet he'd be happy to re-sign here. He has to look at his realistic chances of landing a starting position in the CFL and appreciate that there aren't many opportunities out there for a QB with his record and injury history. Honestly can't see any team investing in him as their number one at this point. What's Burris' status for 2016? If he shows well for us this month OTT will show him the money. By the time Burris is done there will be better options than Nichols. If the RB's are smart they're already shopping
  19. I never said the STs were good. k nobody is calling it a masterpiece.. or that it should save his job even... what we are saying is that with a legit QB it is functional and capable of producing points and yards.. couple with a stingy defense and error free ST.. 2 outta 3 aint bad. That's taking it too far, Lirim and Stoudermire are becoming the "usual suspects" in regard to ST errors. Stoudermire looked better on his returns tonight but he fumbled the ball on hits at least twice. ... Hence 2 outta 3.. Our offense was good today and defense was stingy.. STs, while improved continued to be an issue even if its only down to two specific targets.. I never said the STs were good. Sorry, misinterpreted your intent.

  21. I don't think the running game worked out as well as planned but at least they stuck with the run tonight throughout the game so that is encouraging. On second thought that probably had more to do with never being behind by more than 7.

  23. Really. If this game doesn't get the American punter on the roster and Stoudermire off of it, I'm not sure what Hajrullahu and Stoudermire have to show in terms of negative play to get sat/lose the punting job. Hajrullahu's miscues around punting are costing us points every game. No kidding, it looked like Lirim was going to be the difference maker again tonight. Don't think he can handle both jobs consistently so time to make him focus on the job he does the best and let somebody else handle the punting.
  24. Brings back the never ending question, is it Brohm or Marcel? Can't it be both? Brings back the never ending question, is it Brohm or Marcel? Can't it be both? Sure, and we will know for sure once they're both sent on their way. I think a number of posters had it right last week when they said Sask. did not respect Brohm's ability to find a receiver more than 5 yards down field and they took advantage of that. Everybody knows that Brohm has a decent arm but unfortunately he has zero confidence in his abilities. Likewise everybody knows that Nichols is going to throw the occasional interception but he has the confidence to keep throwing the ball downfield and does not get easily discouraged much like Joey Elliot. In doing so he exposed Sask, D for what they really are, the very worst in the league.
