Hey if enjoying a forum is only seeing like minded opinions that's totally up to you.If we were all rah rah we could go 0-18 every year and just gather in a circle and sing praise be Blue!☺It's unfortunate that we have to place people on ignore, but some people just scream out "Add me! Add me!". Thanks for the reminder Blitzmore. I'm looking forward to a much more enjoyable experience now.

We will see now won't we?No more excuses left.
Because, as has been stated multiple times, the reputation is changing. Regardless of what you Rabble Rabble types say, players and coaches are wanting to come there. Westerman came because he said it's being run like an NFL organization. The wins might not be there, but the culture is changing and wins should hopefully follow. If quality coaches wouldn't come in 2014, why do fans here think they'll come in 2016?

What do you base that MOS knows what he is doing on?His record? His hiring of assistant coaches?I would suggest you don't know a lot of the in and outs any better than the naysayers.Just saying.
I'm also pretty sure that if he could pick any defensive coordinator in the league to run his defence it'd be Steinhauer and everyone here loves his defense right? O'Shea knows what he's doing, a lot of people spouting off on here though don't really know the ins and outs of what goes on in hiring decisions.
O'Shea's never been a DC so it would be unrealistic for them to expect he'd be able to fix Etch's D by mid-season.I wonder if they put more faith in Osh's defensive mind to compensate Etch's D. It wasnt unrealistic for them to wanna surround Osh with experience being a rookie HC, and the knock on Etch was he was easily figured out by Labour Day, I wonder if they thought Oshea would be hitting a bit of stride by that point and helping shake up the etch-a-sketch board
I disagree. Due to his experience as a player. He has been a part of some great defenses. And if you hear his former team mates speak, he was basically a coach on the field. He knows the CFL defense and could design one if needed. I have a hard time believing a future HOF MLB wouldn't know how. Especially one that spent basically his entire life around the Canadian game.

Your right maybe we can just keep our coordinators next year save some money on a HC and sign that big stud receiver.really a team soars or flops due to it's coordinators or it's talent and or lack there of and how it's utilized.
Head coaches aren't necessarily the real factor unless they are a total idiot and just do blatantly stupid things...there a few in game instances and certain decisions that they solely have to answer to but put any body on a good well balanced team and they will succeed.
Mike O isn't a total idiot and sure he made a few eyebrow raising decisions but the total team failures aren't because he is the wrong hire..not at all.
When this regime first took over they were behind the 8 ball and limited and time challenged on putting a staff together so the pickings were slim.
But Etch was pooched...as was the first OC and now his successor. ***** and moan all you want but Walters and Miller, as well as O'shea have created an environment and organization that is an attractive destination for players now, as well as coaches. If we don't do the norm...blow it all up and start again I think that next year is going to be the start of a run of very good consistent football.
We were hampered severely by what was going on with the offence and the ripple effect of it hindered the defense. Hall as DC is solid and next year will be a continuation with key guys already in place and familiar with things as opposed to a restart and learn as we go situation like this year. So right there things are already better.
Leggett, Westerman, Bass, Wild, Adams, Randle and Johnson would all start on any team right now, or be key rotational guys so we are looking god there. Anderson too will be way better next year. For a big guy it's tough to come back fully after one year from ACL surgery and generally you aren't back to where you were for 2 years. I've gone through it twice personally so trust me on that.
With the pieces we had on offence as is, with a capable and creative OC we should have been an above .500 team. It was such a basic and designed to fail offensive scheme it almost seemed like Bellfiuelle was paid by someone else to screw us over. Routes all run at same depth, no misdirection..no pulling lineman, maybe one outside toss to a RB all year...I could go on and on...It was literally laughable.
Just a new OC alone next year even if we change no personnel we are already better there too.
Add a stud big play receiver, a back to compliment Marshall, and a big mean s.o.b D-lineman and we are a 10 win team next year....score one or two more studs anywhere else on roster...we're laughing

Well I agree no logic for the pro MOS that's for sure. For me I'll be happy if MOS can get us to .500 at least he will improve to average which is lookin pretty damn good right now.Its become very obvious that this forum has polarized into pro and con O'Shea factions, with little common ground. No amount of logic or argument will sway the pro-MOS people and it sure as spit looks like nothing he can do will redeem himself until at least halfway through the 2016 season if he has a winning record by a substantial margin. Either way, every indication is that O'Shea is going to be head coach for at least the start of next year, so flapping our gums will change nothing.

Huge difference between playing and coaching is why not many great players make great coaches.
Well....he certainly got off to a roaring start with MB, Tracy.....and Etch.
You know you have a great point and is probably the reason MOS will never be a good HC he just doesn't have enough expertise or experience on ethier side of the ball to lean on in times of trouble. He desperately needs good experienced coordinators to be able to run a team.If they promote Buck with his limited experience it's just going to clearly show this limitation. With O'Shea's limited experience as a coach, he needs to surround himself with great coordinators. He's never going to be the guy to take over the offense and plot a new direction, for instance. Its why moving to Richie Hall as the DC was so important, and why hitting this hire out of the park is so crucial. He needs two great coordinators, and if someone has already shown that they are good at that job, then they move to the top of my list.
Its different when you hire say, Scott Milanovich or Kent Austin. You expect your offense to be good no matter what because they're so involved in the offensive gameplan.
I don't get the hole "he doesn't have enough experience" BS. The guy was a starting MLB for how many years in this league? He knows how a Defence works and how it should work. Saying he doesn't is flat out wrong. He's got plenty of experience on that side of the ball, even if it isn't as a coach.

Thanks Noeller the only problem is I'd gladly take a giant bag of **** for a 14 -4 season!I pray we don't hear anything (key: HEAR ANYTHING) till the new year. Do your due diligence and once you know who all is available, then make your move. But honestly, there's a part of me that wants them to not make ANY move, keep all in tact, and go 14-4 next year and then hand out a giant bag of **** you's to a whole pile of you....

Why did they bother even dressing Brohm last night? They would have been better served to leave him behind to pack and dressed another special teams person.
Wait till MOS brings him back next year
Wouldnt it technically be up to Walters to bring back a player??
No I would think it is up to the coach who he wants back. You think someone tells Huffer who should play for him?
Bad example... Hufnagel is also the GM...[/quoteOk] Ok Milanovich Austin when he was at Sask we could go on and on any good coach makes the final decision who plays and who goes this ain't rocket surgery here.
-
Yeah if the coach had a winning record and was an icon yeah but that ain't describing MOS
I've seen it happen when a GM leaves and a popular coach remains, but usually that is a token gesture by the new GM to leave the old coach in place for a year, but it is rare for the old coach to hang around longer than that.No way a GM sticks with a coach from a past regime why would you stick with someone who was hired by someone else? You bring in who you trust.Unless we hire a new GM from within like maybe promote bellfoole.

Yep good on Leggett for saying what is painfully obvious not tough enough mentally and not enough Walbys around to kick some a$$! Even Sask there last game won it and tried to show the fans something for next year. The Blue a lot of them just went through the motions to get out of the game and head home.
The team folded like a cheap tent in the games Willy got hurt. Very few stepped up throughout the season in the face of adversity. I would say that your assessment of the team being mentally weak was spot on.Earlier in the year, I stated that this team appeared mentally weak. Perhaps a wee bit of confirmation.

Well let's give him one more year before we bring out that scenario.I was thinking maybe concussion or serious injury that they want to protect him.I too want to know wtf was up with richards..
Either was hurt or he just was awful.... either way I would assume all fans should give up any kind of hope on the guy and just assume it's a wasted pick and hope they do better next draft.
If that's the case then he didn't even live up to the laughable hype that he was the next Jade Etienne.

Gotta disagree the cap is going down who knows where it will be in 4 or 5 years you don't saddle yourself for that long of a term not for someone at Buffs age.I'd sign Buff for 7x7 in a heartbeat if there were no "no trade clause" or a limited one....he would get more than that on the open market. The Rangers would LOVE to have him, if they could fit him into the cap.
-
Yep we should be so lucky to have that idiot as our OC.I agree with Noeller as well Hall ain't going anywhere.Say what you want about MOS but he is loyal to his people.Well it's interesting the guy you call an idiot is the guy who called the offence that you said made Durant look good. Now that idiot is calling the plays for Jennings in B.C. We should have some kind of idiot in Wpg.
-
Well I think if any of the deserve the benefit it's Walters at least he has brought in a QB that we can win with.Oh well ☺Sure they have, just some refuse to see what they have done. I'm starting to change my tune on Walters because the lack of talent on the team is somewhat shocking actually, the lack of depth... but... to say they have done nothing is just bullcrap.
I'm not even sure what Millers job is, he's the president and he's done lots to try and improve the game day experience, isn't that his job? His job isn't really the onfield product, that's Walters job. If any of them shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt at this moment, it's walters.
