  1. Or we may just start 7 Canadians this week. I believe Kolhert made it 8.
  2. I predict Hurl will have a better season than Emry.
  3. Giordano's camp is asking for $9 million per season to start negotiations. Byfuglien will be asking for that range. I hope Chevy trades Buff ASAP. A contract like for a guy like Buff would cripple the Jets for years.
  4. Are you sure that was a football? anything else he would be gripping would be way bigger than a football Where's Jacquie?
  5. I'm surprised the Riders would announce this so early prior to the game, as it allows the Bombers to adjust their game plan. Could this be a smokescreen?
  6. hard to take Pedersen seriously no matter what he is wearing, because all he ever spouts is Green Kool-aid.Pederson is employed by the Riders. I thought he was like Bob Irving. What does he do for the Riders? Not sure, he may have dual roles, but he confirmed with me a while ago that he's on the Riders payroll.

  8. The Riders and I believe the Als also had interest in Yantz. Taman said he tried to add Yantz to the Riders neg list right after the draft, but Walters beat him to it.
  9. Where's Chris Randle?
  10. It's a story because it sounds like Walters made promises that weren't kept. I obviously have no idea what was said between Walters and Yantz, but this is a bit of a garbage comment. There is no way Walters promised Yantz anything. GMs don't do that. He was signed. As a rookie, CIS, 5th QB. Against 4 americans with CFL experience who were returning to the same offence they spent all of last season in. We, as well as every other CFL team, sign an extra arm every season - who is cut every season - and not one word is said. The only reason he even got a quote in the paper is because he's from UofM. Based on Yantz's quotes, it sounds like Walters promised him an opportunity to compete for a roster spot, and Yantz feels he didn't get that opportunity. Interpret that however you like.
  11. I went to 7-8 TC practices and saw Yantz get a total of one scrimmage rep.

  13. It's mostly based on Yantz's published quotes today.
  14. Personally I think the flow of information usually goes like this: media asks about Yantz --> Walters speaks positively about him --> people then pump up Yantz more. I'm trying to recall of someone that Walters or even O'Shea didn't speak positively about. Kind of reminds me of what happened with Reaves too. The media focused on him so he got lots of press. I recall just before camp cuts Ed Tait was glowing about how he was continually improving and could actually make the roster. This despite being either the worst receiver there, or in contention for that title, from what I saw. The quotes are directly from Yantz. He says he feels mislead and never got a chance.
  15. Ok he lost this much credibility: It's time to move on. Ya I'd agree it's not THAT a big deal, but it's still there.
  16. Your missing the point. It's not just about Yantz. It calls into question the credibility of our GM, if he's making promises to players and not keeping them. Other players pay attention to this stuff.Good lord.. How many reps do you think every other 5th string quarterback get? He got an opportunity to show his stuff. He was more then a long shot to make it. He stuck around longer then most people thought. If this was Yantz from Kentucky this would be a non issue. Players that get cut always think they didn't get a fair chance, what else is new.Again, that's not the point. In reading the article on Yantz, it sounds like Walters told him one thing, and something very different happened. What do you think GM's tell players when they're signed? I'm sure EVERY player invited to TC was told they'd have an opportunity to make the roster. So he didn't get enough reps. Big deal. It's called credibility. I'm a big fan of Walters, but I think he lost a bit of credibility with his handling of Yantz, if what Yantz is saying is the truth.

  19. My only concern is that it sounds like Walters may have mislead him. If true, that can damage the reputation of the organization and make future players hesitant of signing here.
  20. 1. Firing Etch 2. Stanley Bryant 3. Dom Picard 4. Westerman
  21. @DarrinBauming: New #Bombers DB Lin-J Shell took the first reps at safety today. He can be activated from the practice roster before Saturday's game.
  22. @ScottBilleck: Former #Bisons star QB Jordan Yantz says he felt left in the dark by #Bombers. Feels he wasn’t given a chance to compete for a job. #CFL
  23. I like Tavern United on Pembina.
  24. Oshea said Latanzio is going back to being a DL, but is so seen as a "utility knife".
  25. So Randle and Hurl aren't veterans?
