I went to practice today. Was very cold/windy so I didn't stay until the end. A few observations: 1. Crazy number of OLs at practice. I counted 14. Starters were January, Morley, Sorensen, Greaves and Jones. 2. New OL Patrick Neufeld couldn't run, he could only walk. Was in noticeable pain if he tried to run/jog. I wonder if his shin injury is worse than the team is letting on. 3. Practiced a fake punt. 4. Renaud's punting looked terrible. 5. New DEs Griggs and McaDoo got lots of reps. Don't think either will start this week, but both could play. 6. Karl Fitzgerald got reps at tight end. That should help with QB protection and open up a safety valve for the QB if he plays. 7. Hall got first team reps but all 4 QBs got reps.

Looks like Griggs will be playing this week for the Bombers. He was brought in to replace Alex Hall and all reports so far say he looks like a stronger version of Alex Hall. It's interesting that when he was brought in, Alex Hall was still here, Griggs was told that a DE would be leaving the team soon so there'd be an opportunity to start. I'm very interested to see him play this week. If he's playing this week, that means he's locked up for next season as well.

What success? Our O line has been a mess for a long time I believe he was the OL coach when Fred Reid was here and had success.

Everyone seems to be calling for our OL coach, Pat Del Monaco to be fired because of the o-line’s performance this season. Pat Del Monaco has been the Bombers OL Coach for 4-5 seasons now and has had success. I believe a lot of the reasons for the perceived failure of the o-line this season has been poor QB play, constant new personnel on the OL (it can take up to a half season for a new OL to “gel”), and no real deep threat WR to keep 8-10 men out of the box. I agree that Burke needs to go, but I wouldn’t be so fast to can Pat Del Monaco.

Is Neufeld considered an upgrade over Swiston at tackle? Technically, both have "started" at tackle; Swiston 1 game and Neufeld 13 games. How does Pencer fit into the mix...does the acquisition of Neufeld suggest that Bombers have given up on Pencer?
