Can we take QBs with a passing TD counting?
-
The 33,500 capacity at IGF should be perfect for when we play Saskatchewan and home playoff games. Other than those games, I agree 30,000 would have been enough.

I saw some pictures of him working out this season. Wouldn't surprise me if most of that extra weight is muscle.

Mathematical Power Rankings Explained The 2013 CFL Power Rankings ?mathematical edition? uses an objective measurement of a team?s performance to date to establish a team?s ranking. The 2013 statistical model ? formulated using a statistical tool known as regression analysis ? is based on information gathered from all regular season games played during the 2004 to 2011 seasons, inclusive ? over 1,250 observations in total. The results of the regression analysis suggest that the ten most statistically significant indicators of team success are: 1. Quarterback Efficiency Rating 2. Time of Possession, as measured by percentage 3. Rushing Yards 4. Turnovers on Downs 5. Fumbles 6. Sacks Taken 7. Punt Return Yards 8. # of Punts 9. # of Kick-Offs 10. # of Kick-Off Returns Our regression model suggests that a team?s offensive score in a game may be represented by the following formula: Quarterback Efficiency Rating x 0.125, plus Time of Possession (%) x 8.38, plus Rushing Yards x 0.0246, less Turnovers on Downs x 1.54, less Fumbles x 0.562, less Sacks Taken x 0.537, plus Punt Return Yards x 0.0238, less # of Punts x 0.314, plus # of Kick-Offs x 2.99, plus # of Kick-Off Returns x 0.467. Each week a Club?s ?weekly score? will be determined by calculating a Club?s offensive score, using the formula above, then subtracting its opponent?s score calculated using the exact same formula. Once a weekly score has been determined, the Power Rankings will be determined: 1. For the first half of the season by taking each week?s score and weighting them evenly (for example, the Power Rankings in week 4 would weight each week 25%, week 5 would weight each week 20%, and so on), except for the first week, which is based 50% on the regression score and 50% on last year's standings; and 2. For the second half of the season, after Labour Day, by weighting the current week 20%, the immediately prior week 10%, and all other weeks 70%.

I see Bryant Turners baby arrived today so I'd expect him to be back in Winnipeg sometime tomorrow. -

Drew Willy named CFL offensive player of the week

@Darren_Cameron: #Bombers quarterback @Drew_Willy has been named the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week. (19-27, 308 yards, four touchdowns). -
These are CFL rankings and they clearly take into consideration last years results.
-
It takes more than one win to erase what has happened here over the last 2 years. With each win we will start creeping up the rankings. I'm okay with being ranked 7th at this stage of the season.

WPG vs Ottawa Preview And Thoughts

Hank does not like being hit. If he gets pressured & hit he becomes the "Deer In The Headlines QB" & starts making bad decisions. If we give him time & he gets into a rhythm our defense will be in trouble. Do you mean "Deer in the headlights"? -
Higgins is a very good coach but if you have a wannabee head coach GM like Popp who meddles then there is a big problem. I bet it was Higgins who wanted Worman gone probably a philosophical difference. Wonder if Crowton is available??? If Higgins wanted Worman gone, then why was it Popp & not Tom talking to the media?: Higgins isn't the kind of guy to hide behind Jim Popp or not address the media if the decision was his. He was a straight up guy here in Calgary when he was HC of the Stamps. Cause that is one of Popp's jobs. Usually when a coach comes in he gets to pick his own staff. I don't believe that happened with Higgins. Pretty sure Higgins hired Worman.

That's better, because we all know how quickly inflated numbers get exaggerated and then floated around and passed off as accurate, now don't we? What do you mean? Didn't he make 400K this year? That was just his CBA signing bonus
-
I agree there were some sloppy games this past weekend. But don't all teams get the same amount of time to prepare? Why did some teams look prepared and others not so much? Says more about the coaching staffs than the league in general.

Awesome analysis! Nice to see your ranking of our OL as well above average.
-
So you figure Montreal has access to secret training methods that the Bombers can't access?
-
Wasn't his signing bonus $50K? Penton said it was in excess of $50k, and Madani said it was around $60k. So we'll go with 50k plus, but isn't that the only money he could have earned up to this point? Aside from the CBA bonus and maybe a few hundred dollars in training camp money, yes. That's exactly what my initial explanation said.

Insurance costs money...whether you need it or not.And actually in the long run they will end up saving money...by not having to pay his full salary for 18 games. But you're paying another guy to take his spot, likely a cheaper import. So it evens out in the end.No it doesn't...you just said it a cheaper import...so how does that even it out? My guess is they'll make up at least the 60 g's Because we already paid Banks $60k. $60k + $60k = $120k, which was Banks salary for the full season.huh? What don't you understand? It's not complicated. We already paid Banks $60k as his signing bonus. That money is gone. Banks salary for the year was $120k. We already gave him half that in the form of a signing bonus. Let's say his replacement is a cheap import making $60k this season. $60k plus $60k = $120k. No money saved, it's a break even. Well seeing as you MUST make your point...and seeing as you have access to all the contracts and details including incentives...You MUST be right! First, you asked me to explain further. And, yes, plus or minus a few grand, those numbers are accurate.

You may want to re-think that one, unless he gets traded before Thursday... Does Calgary have a bye?
-
That would be because Austin probably would have to admit he made a mistake signing collaros, would have loved to see it, imagine if lefevour or masoli went in and actually moved the ball? not saying signing collaros is a mistake but if you were austin and stubborn like he appears to be, would you want to pull your prized free agent in the first game and see the guys you decided to not go with as starter do better than he did? Ya good point. I'd think Collaros gets at least a half season no matter how much he struggles.

Anthony Allen. ***Edited as I did not realize Calgary was on a bye.

But he still keeps his $60k signing bonus. But nice to see he can't sign with another team.
