  1. @arashmadani: Boom goes the dynamite!: Korey Banks just went to the bathroom.
  2. If Wally or Austin think Pencer is better than what they currently have I'm sure Pencer will be getting a call soon.
  3. Where exactly in my post did you see me suggest we trade our NI's?
  4. Yep...the only thing stopping me from attending a Bomber home game would be if I was dead. I'd definitely never let a little rain stop me, like Rider fans this past weekend. Weak.
  5. Well, that's actually smart trading...look where your opponent has a weakness, where you have a weakness, and look to trade your depth for another teams depth. That's how win-win trades get done. But I'm really not sure what the market would be like for guys like Howard and Jones.
  6. From Lowell Ullrich today: There was no gloating. There was also no interest. It was nonetheless a tad amusing to learn a certain Korey Banks called the Lions Sunday to see whether there was any interest in his services, as it appears what was once viewed as a one-sided trade in the off-season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers may eventually have to be scored in a different manner. It’s never a terribly prudent way to operate in the absence of all the facts, but it would seem as if the former Lions defensive back could be on the way out with the Bombers if they don’t soon find a willing trade partner. Word out of Winnipeg last week was that there were several coaches who didn’t want to keep him after training camp. He officially was placed on the one-game injured list. He hadn’t been traded or suspended as of this writing, but it may not take much to conclude he’s not considered a part of the puzzle in Winnipeg, and really, why would the Bombers change anything after their impressive start over David Braley’s other team last week. It brings back to mind the reasons why Banks is no longer playing with the Lions, and as Wally Buono reminded a questioner Sunday it’s not always what you think. To recap, Banks wanted an advance of his contract, as had become custom. The Lions didn’t give it to him. They also didn’t think he was worthy of a raise and dealt him to Winnipeg when Banks thought otherwise. Buono said Sunday he would have worked out the money if he thought Banks would help, but he didn’t and apparently another team feels the same way. The real upside, as the Lions see things, is that they received in exchange a receiver in Kito Poblah who can play two positions in their offence, and got considerably younger at Banks’ last spot in the defence in Josh Johnson. Poblah hasn’t been spectacular but he has been steady, showing supreme athleticism against Edmonton to make one of his two catches. The Bombers, meantime, are still auditioning; they signed import Romby Bryant today. Banks could still resurface in Winnipeg or somewhere else around the league to make a contribution. There’s certainly a storyline waiting to happen in Ottawa, where he began his CFL career. But you have to admit, the guy running the Lions isn’t wrong often when it comes to cutting loose a player whose best-before date is approaching.
  7. After this weekends games, it appears that the Lions and Ticats desperately need some OL help. We have some potentially attractive pieces in January, Jones and Howard. Thoughts on whether we could swing a deal with the Lions/Ticats, perhaps for a Canadian DL?
  8. Austin is the GM as well. Is it not his job to bring in quality OLs?
  9. Wow...did the Bombers ever dodge a bullet by losing out on Colaros. Could have set us back several years. We love Willy!!!
  10. Because Farhan Lalji jumped the gun.
  11. except we're not talking about what Banks did, we're talking about our GM giving up an asset and then paying a decent signing bonus to lock this guy up only for him to never play a snap for the team. That's just a poor move from a GM and there's no two ways about it. It's impossible for Walters to predict Banks would act like a complete selfish person when asked to be a backup. Cut your losses and move on. Good riddance Banks.
  12. Collaros looks like ****. Wow. So so glad we ended up with Willy.
  13. 7 sacks for the Riders midway through the 3rd quarter. Wow.
  14. got a simple question for you, you seem to like to stick up for every other team all the time, what are you gonna say when drew willy has a bad game? How do you take "Smith had a horrible game" as sticking up for Montreal or any other team for that matter? I expect Willy will have bad games this year. I'm probably going to tell folks who are jumping off a cliff: "That's what happens with first time starting QB's." Huh...I don't understand. You mean Willy isn't going to throw at least 4 TDs and 300 yards every game?
  15. Is this game actually going to happen?
  16. This is great...thanks!
  17. Maybe Dinwiddie will come out of retirement and start at QB for the Als this season. He can be OC and starting QB!
  18. @DarrinBauming: O'Shea: “I don’t think he was willing to accept that type of leadership role. I believe he believes that leadership comes from being out ... @DarrinBauming: ... there on the field. My idea of — my utopian idea is that a player says when (you ask), ‘What’s your goal? What do you want to do this... @DarrinBauming: ...season?' The answer is, 'Anything I’m asked of by the organization to allow us to win a Grey Cup.’ ... @DarrinBauming: ... That’s the answer. But like I said, that’s the perfect answer that I’d like to hear." – Mike O'Shea
  19. That's why the Bombers want Banks as his backup but Banks won't accept that role. So much for his "leadership", he's just another selfish athlete. Good riddance Korey Banks.
  20. @ArashMadani: A key reason the #Bombers may be apprehensive to grant Korey Banks his release: Winnipeg paid him around $60,000 up front to sign. #CFL
  21. Agreed. I only see this as a positive.
  22. @Darren_Cameron: #Bombers have added National wideout Taylor Renaud to the practice roster.
  23. I'm at Bomber practice right now and no sign of Korey Banks.
  24. @FarhanLaljiTSN: Not only was @24Banks a healthy scratch, as per @GlenSuitor, he is also being shopped by #Bombers in trade talks. #CFL
  25. I'm just glad Willy didn't make it too free agency. Montreal could have gone after him.
