  1. I like this idea.
  2. Toronto had both games at home though. Bombers had a travel day.
  3. Thanks for the highlights Mark!
  4. Any relation to Michael Bolton? Maybe he can sing as part of the half time entertainment at IGF.
  5. Yup, IMO, signing hank was all about name recognition, people know who henry buriss is, I'm not sure Kevin Glenn sells tickets. Henry is more marketable than Glenn, he is a name, he can put his name on things, Glenn, decent qb but if you were to poll a group of casual fans, and said... Glenn or Buriss, most would say Buriss just cuz they have more than likely heard his name before. Burris wasn't brought in to sell tickets. The fact that there's football again in Ottawa, and for the first time in nine years is more than enough reason to buy tickets. The fans know full well what happens when you don't buy them. The entire Burris package all factored into the decision to sign him. If you don't think ownership/management took Burris's ability to create excitement and sell tickets into consideration as part of the decision, you are dead wrong.
  6. Problem with that strategy is it's not always sustainable as defenses can tailor their coverage based on the offensive personnel.
  7. Signing Hank helped create excitement and sell tickets, so from that perspective it was a good business move.
  8. Bombers should sign every players brother, sister, parent, cousin, aunt and uncle so we never lose a player ever again.
  9. He's a Bomber. Colts cut him last week.
  10. @ZachAnderson44: Offical! Welcome to #Winnipeg @AndersoNx71
  11. Ottawa's receivers can't catch.
  12. American offensive lineman. Zach Anderson's brother.
  13. @ZachAnderson44: Huge announcement for you #bomber fans coming soon! Just got to wait on the Offical word.
  14. Fraser plays if Vega can't go.Fraser was injured two weeks ago. Is he healthy now? Haven't heard and media haven't really asked about guys who aren't on the active roster, Kemp too who looked to have a serious injury.Just because a player is placed on the one game IR doesn't necessarily mean they're injured. I'm pretty sure Fraser is fine. He's been hurt, although I don't know to what extent. The reason he's on the 1-game IR is so that they can pay him grace pay of a full salary, instead of a practice roster salary. Our practice roster isn't full, if he was healthy, that's likely where he'd be. I've been to practices recently where he's been on the one game IR and he's practicing fully.

  17. I don't think the Argos are going to roll over to the Lions. Yes, it's a short week and a long trip for them but having had the recent bye week I don't think they'll be as tired as the Bombers were. Why would Braley want the Argos to be a "free spot" for the Lions? It's not like other teams won't be having short weeks either. Some examples: Edmonton and Calgary play each other twice in 5 days (Labour Day game and rematch), Saskatchewan and Hamilton were coming off short weeks when they played us. I think having had their first bye weeks within 2 weeks of these games helped Hamilton and Saskatchewan get through the short weeks better than we did. Game is in Toronto.
  18. Just got this from the Bombers: Signature Jersey Launch The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will launch their new "Signature" third jersey on Tuesday, August 19th, part of the CFL-wide Signature Jersey initiative. The Bombers will debut the Signature uniforms on the field when they host the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, August 22nd at 7:30pm. On August 19th from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, fans are invited to the Bomber Store to purchase the new jersey and collect autographs from RB Nic Grigsby and DB Chris Randle. Fans who bring a donation of a non-perishable food item to the Purolator Tackle Hunger program in support of Winnipeg Harvest will receive a $30-off coupon, which can be applied to the purchase of the new jersey. Your Tackle Hunger food donation can be made at the Bomber Store at any time before the August 22nd game or at the August 22nd game itself; there will be donation points at the gates on the night of the game, or in the Tailgate at the Plaza area at Gate 2 where you can collect your coupon. Both women's and men's jerseys will be available for purchase. Signature sideline gear including T-shirts, golf shirts, hoodies, touques and caps will also be available in the Bomber Store and online. (The $30-off coupon can not be applied to the Signature sideline gear.)
  19. If he's not eligible, that's huge. Can't see him immediately being picked up by another NFL team to go on their active roster so we might just see him in Blue & Gold this season. When he was drafted I remember him being very positive about joining the Bombers. He will be a difference maker. This would be like signing Ted Laurent mid-season...huge!! He's got pro experience now so he should be able to step right in to the lineup.
  20. In order to be eligible for the practice squad, players must meet one of the following requirements: •Have no prior Accrued Seasons in the NFL (An accrued season is six or more games on the active roster); •Have one prior Accrued Season in which the player was on the 45-man active roster for no more than 8 games; •If served two seasons on a practice squad, are eligible for a third season only if the team has at least 53 players on its active/inactive list for the duration of that player's employment.
  21. I'm not sure how he could be eligible. But I've heard some say he is and some say he is not. Just looked into it. He was active for a minimum of 11 games last year (stats recorded in 11) so I don't see how he could be eligible. Baseline is 9. I'm just basing my information on what some Winnipeg media have stated. I want to say Penton but not 100% sure it was him.
  22. Andy Mulumba is eligible for the NFL practice roster. Everything I hear is that he's expected to go there if/when he is cut.
  23. Interesting that Argos play at home both of their games during their short week, where we just played on the road for ours. The travel is exhausting on the players and it eliminates one practice day too. Teams on these short weeks should play both games at home IMO.
  24. Are you still wearing your man-kini from last night? wtf are you talking about Sorry that was meant for Road Griller! lol
