Beastly Lions look to be a good team but weirdly inconsistent. -

Official GDT: vs Ham 08/03/16 Game Day We All Play!

Not good, but we don't know how severe. Could be season-ending. -
Yes, the second half was not as dominant as we would have liked, but no doubt Steinauer's defence got tuned up at half-time. There is still plenty of reason for optimism against Toronto- Nichols will be more familiar with his receivers, the d-backs will have gotten more in sync, and with a bit of luck, Hardrick will be back. Toronto is well-coached with good players but not unbeatable.

Does A Blowout Over Toronto Next Week Earn MOS An Extension?
Tracker replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Most, if not all of us were ecstatic when Willy signed and played his first 6 games, but he has not come close to equaling those performances since, even when healthy. By the mid-point of last season, there were a lot of concerns about Willy's mental toughness, and those concerns resurfaced this year. I do not wish ill for him, but its as simple as this: he is not what the team needs and the team and most fans have known this for a while. He might do better in Hamilton instead of Masoli and maybe Kent Austin has the time and patience to spoon-feed him. -
Does a blow out against the Tiger-Cats cost MOS his job?

Like a GIF, only different. -
There seems to be almost unanimous agreement that Willy has dropped to the backup role, and at 400K per year, that is untenable. Nichols appears to have a command of the team in a way we haven't seen since 2014, so the question is: do either Davis or Bennett have the stuff to go in on short notice and be competitive if Willy gets sent on his way?

Official GDT: vs Ham 08/03/16 Game Day We All Play!
Tracker replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not to discount the Bomber performance, but it was a little disconcerting to see the offense letting up in the second half even though they were still playing all the starters. It would have been good to see Richards, Lochard and maybe even Davis or Bennett getting game reps in at least the last bit of the 4th quarter. -

Actually, you do not. There's a form of enhanced ID you can get. There's more than a bit of paranoia going on in the US these days, that is, more than usual. As surprising number of Americans still think the 911 attackers came through Canada. -
This game is going to be a much stiffer test than the last for the Bombers. If Masoli plays like he did in the last game, the secondary is going to have to be at their best. Fortunately, the O-line is still intact from the last game.

My opinion exactly. I always thought Elliott got frustrated with nickel-and-dime offense when the Bombers were behind and sinking quickly late in the game and decided to gamble in defiance of the pathetic play calling by an inept offensive coordinator. Elliott had to know he was signing his death warrant but he cared enough to give it a shot.

Southern Alberta, the USA- pretty much the same thing. -
But they enjoyed every minute of it.

It doesn't involve peanut butter, a spatula, Barry White and a safety word?

And here I thought his mother came up for a wicked weekend- just long enough for a few drinks and a one-night stand. -

I have never really accepted Cahoon as a legit Canuck as he got in under a technicality. He was good, though and kudos to Popp and Co. for finding him. -

We have a whack of LBs on hand for some reason, and maybe Knox is the answer at MLB, but Bass still hasn't convinced me he is the answer. We could always use a dominant DE despite Green being given the job. I've given up on waiting for a really, really good young QB prospect. -

We still need a burner receiver and a solid MLB. We might have these on hand but who knows? Maybe we will have some answers by this time tomorrow. -
If the #3 and #4 quarterbacks have shown little in practices, then yes, they do have to be replaced. Pretty much every QB starting in the CFL had to work his way up. Some were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time to advance rapidly, but those are few.
-
If we cannot replace him with a measurably better one and soon, that means our scouting/recruiting is bad.
-
Richards has proven nothing so far, except that he is either brittle or snake-bit. There is a rule that if you cannot make the starting team in three years, you are never going to, so time to move on.
-
We need to keep our expectations for this game reasonable. Adams and Dressler were not only very good last game, they were in sync with Nichols. Not likely that the newbies will have that same familiarity with Nichols, so our passing game is very apt to suffer. Gotta pound the rock and play the possession game.
-
We have a decent shot against Hamilton and that's all the team can ask. Collaros is still down and it looks like a few of the missing pieces on defence have been found. Bond has glued the O-line together and all Nichols needs to do is manage the offense like he did against the Esks.
