Manziel and Kaerpernick are entirely different cats. Manziel has shown some very troubling personal conduct issues, whereas Kaepernick took a principled stand against systemic violence perpetrated against minorities that have been around even prior to the birth of America. Whether Kaerpernick wants to come to the CFL, or if he can adapt to the Canadian game are still to be determined. So far as I know, he has no desire to come to the CFL, but he was a damned good quarterback.

Welcome to our occasionally fractious group and we all hope that Alex shows well. That he has an MBA should mean that he has smarts enough to adapt to the CFL with rules that often confuse the heck out of American players who come up here. The wider field, extra player and motion along with the three downs are difficult for some to adapt to.
-
	Then, who does?
-
Not certain if it has been referenced in this forum, but Saturday's Free Press had an excellent article on Durant's character, and it was not at all flattering on Durant. He appears to have fragile ego and is petulant into the bargain. In a related issue, had he actually stayed on with the Bombers, he could well have let the team down at a critical juncture.

I wonder if there is any chance we could tempt a certain kneeling quarterback to come up to Canada?
-
There's a good interview with Simonise at 3downnation, and he is saying all the right things, so that is encouraging.
-
Not a heck of a lot of objective information out there on Steveler, but the size (6'2" and 209lb) is CFL sized.
-
I wouldn't bet the farm on that, but we can hope.

The thing that Trump ought to know is that iuliani did get his facts straight, and since Giuliani is a lawyer, he should have known what he was saying would be a confession of culpability on behalf of Trump. All of Trumps hirees have been "great people" until they leaves under a cloud (26 at last count).
-
Trump has absolutely no compunction about throwing anyone under the bus if there is any perceived benefit or convenience to himself. That is who he has always been and is his core personality (malignant narcissist as near as I can tell) and is generally a horrible human being. None of this, even Trump being indicted, impeached or shown to be provably wrong will sway his fan base to any degree. As a matter of fact, right-wing ideologues will actually harden their positions and support for leaders when facts threaten the party line. This is quite different than left wing/progressives who will abandon or even vote against their party when that leadership fails or goes astray. Cohen will absolutely roll over on Trump and may be cooperating with Mueller already and there are credible reports that the Cohen materials contain far more damning revelations than paying off a porn star. Chen stuck by Trump even when Trump humiliated him at Cohen's daughter's birthday party and that sting is probably still festering.

In my experience, there are far more good cops than bad ones (at least here in Canada) but the few who offend are often protected and this leads to a bad culture within police forces. A few years ago, Winnipeg's police chief was asked how many convicted officers were still employed as police and he informed the reporter that the public had no right to know how many criminals were still on the job. It doesn't take that many rotten apples to contaminate the whole barrel.

	Isn't he still doing stunts?

I would take Bo Banner as a consolation prize.

That Simonise faded out of football after failing at the NFL is not a good sign when combined with his seemingly half-hearted performance at the CFL combine.
-
Exactly. Life throws curves at everybody (ok, maybe not at Bill Gates) but how we react to setbacks defines us.
-
If the Bomber staff do not fall at his feet in training camp, he may throw a hissy-fit and bolt.
-
Simonise looked like he was just not pushing himself. Not a good showing.
-
Some are waxing poetic over this pick
-
	Simonise?!?!? WTF
-
Ok, here we go. cue the dramatic tension....

The Consolidated Bitchfest ThreadTracker replied to Wanna-B-Fanboy's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion I am hoping that Bowman will still have most of his mojo, but will wait and see. The defence under Hall is still a big question mark for me as is MLB.

The police are recruited from the general population and will inevitably contain some problematic individuals. The problems arise when a questionable incident occurs and the "blue wall" goes up regardless of the culpability of the officer(s) involved. Many officers assume a "us vs them" in regards to the public and refuse to admit that any officer is capable and guilty of criminal actions. In fact police are one of the top three family violence perpetrators. A friend who was with the Winnipeg force witnessed a troubling event and went to his supervisor who informed him that if he brought the complaint forward he would be charged along with the two other officers. He chose to resign.

Should this regime be on the hot seat?Tracker replied to White Out's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion And who has been and will be recruiting assessing and coaching players thus far?
-
Simonise is almost guaranteed to go to the Riders, as flies are always drawn to poop.
-
If this guy plays receiver, the Bombers will have to have opposing defensive backs sign waivers before each game.
