  1. Not if Hamilton, Toronto and Montreal have anything to say about it.
  2. If we can't question/insult/pillory the coaches, it would pretty much shut down this forum.
  3. Agreed. This edition of the Bombers is not a big-play offense like BC, Edmonton or even the Riders. We do have Adams and Dressler who are very quick but the 10-15 yard passes are Nichols' bread and butter. And that is what Thorpe brings.
  4. The way Reilly got laid out last game, he ought to be seeing and hearing birdies for a while. I couldn't believe he was able or allowed to go back into the game, and that impact has to have a long-term effect on him.
  5. I would still rank Edmonton ahead of the Riders, particularly with Glenn being iffy.
  6. But the facial features closely resemble female Rider fans- on good days.
  7. If Glenn wasn't having the season of his career (before the injury), the Riders would not have won more than a couple of games to date. Franklin shows a lot of promise, but so have many other QBs who flamed out quickly. The most interesting player who is or will be available is Collaros, who is nowhere as bad as he has looked this year, and I do not know why Hamilton did not trade him to the Argos for the previously mentioned package. If Jones wants a shot at the playoffs with Glenn benched for any length of time, Collaros has to be the only viable option out there. The problem is that Hamilton will want a long dollar for him, and Jones may have to get bent over for the trade.
  8. Bombers have been winning in a manner which left them open to being described as more lucky than good. This game was a real crucible. For all his hubris, Jones is a darned good defensive coach and has built a very good defense in Regina, so this win cannot be written off as lucky. Bombers were full value for the win- unlike last week where two plays in the first quarter rattled the Bombers and the Riders got excited.
  9. I expect the Riders to try to slow the game down as much as possible and go to ball-possession plays to take the crowd out of the game. They will expect the Bombers to come out storming but the Bomber counter to that will be a similar ball-control game plan, which means Thorpe will be sorely missed. Bombers absolutely cannot give up the big easy scores or turn the ball over. One of these teams is going to be exposed today.
  10. I do not have confidence that this defensive lineup is good enough. Lankford starts again? Ahead of Thorpe? WTF?
  11. Who are we to challenge the decisions of our beloved leaders? It's like we we too dumb to know enough to to criticize their choices of Willy, Peach, Kuale etc.
  12. You are not alone in your puzzlement. Another puzzler is how Carmichael has been here for so long before he mysteriously and abruptly departed.
  13. Hard to tell if there is a plan behind all this juggling or if it is random events.
  14. Wild wouldn't be the first very good player whose body couldn't take the pounding and had to pack it in early.
  15. Come on, White Out. SPuDs is not defending Hurl- he is trying to provide the rationale for the way things are. There are darned few here who are saying that Hurl is one of the top MLB's in the league, but we are stuck with him. Whether its Walter's inability to find a better alternative or O'Shea's reluctance and/or stubbornness, or Hall's incompetence, it all comes down to the same thing.
  16. What O'Shea and Hall say is not as important as the results on the field, and we have the second worst defense in the league. The coaches are not going to criticize Hurl in public out of professionalism and because they have no viable alternative.
  17. I would disagree about the fraudulent part- the rule was put in place to allow injured players to be tended to and replaced. If a player fakes injury to gain a perceived or actual advantage, then it is fraudulent. fraud·u·lent [ˈfrôjələnt]ADJECTIVE obtained, done by, or involving deception, especially criminal deception: unjustifiably claiming or being credited with particular accomplishments or qualities: "he unmasked fraudulent psychics" synonyms: dishonest · cheating · swindling · corrupt · criminal · illegal · unlawful · illicit · deceitful · double-dealing · duplicitous · dishonorable · unscrupulous · [mo
  18. FYI: the real reason Scots started wearing kilts is that it had gotten to the point where the sound of a zipper was stampeding whole herds of sheep.
  19. Atheists have no invisible means of support.
