  1. The voters also have to take into account the gawdawful beating that Reilly has been taking for most of the season and still competed every game.
  2. Given that the Stamps will start a lot of backups, there is no reason that the Bomber QBs should not show well, even if the team loses. They will be carried on the roster for the balance of the season if they repeat last game's performance, but that ought to be the end of their careers in the CFL.
  3. I'm a Shakir Bell fan, and was surprised that he hasn't been picked up sooner by someone.
  4. I share your concern. It is no coincidence that the Bombers' fortunes improved as soon as Nichols was made a starter. We will probably know next week whether Nichols will be taking first-team reps, and if we get a lame excuse as to why he isn't out of caution, that will set off alarm bells.
  5. Amazing to be sure, but Slack was a fierce competitor and if his body was as strong as his spirit, he would have been around a lot longer.
  6. Burt the Bandit has been reduced to using a cane to getting around as of last year and is probably getting around like Harvey Korman and Tim Conway in their skits on Carol Burnett's show.
  7. We are going to see if LaPolice has the ability to customize the offence to give LeFevour a chance.
  8. 3downnation is reporting that Lefevour is the probable starter against Calgary.
  9. In all seriousness, Carr could not have been worse as a receiver than anyone not named Weston Dressler last game.
  10. That was the Walrus. I heard the interview and he was pretty blunt about the Bomber performances in the past five games- specifically about the vulnerability of the team to the Big Gain, and their tendency to give up gobs of real estate and hope for turnovers.
  11. I suggest we resume this discussion after the Calgary game. One side of this discussion or the other ought to be vindicated. Or not. When considering either Taman or Barker for a talent bird-dog, would it not depend more on who did the actual scouting? I am not a Taman fan, but in both Winnipeg and Regina, he was probably micro-managed and pretty much told what to do and how to do it. How well he would do with a decent budget and oversight is a matter of speculation, but I am not happy with the results that Danny Mac and associated have produced.
  12. The evidence for either conclusion is sadly lacking, alas.
  13. If you have the wardrobe, why not? I suggest you go easy on the mascara, though.
  14. Not a big surprise. Fans who choose to watch better be heavily medicated and/or be put in restraints. Small children should be moved to a safe distance out of earshot to avoid being traumatized.
  15. It looks increasingly likely that Nichols will not start and even Harris is iffy, so I see this game as a toss-up. Besides, we still have Hall.
  16. If you cannot accept at least the last game as an embarrassing rout, I do not know how to respond to that.
  17. If a couple of years on the practice roster isn't enough to allow an aspiring quarterback to step onto the field and look competitive, how many does it take? Three? Five? No one expected him to look like another Nichols but he ought to look better than he did, otherwise why is he here? Just because we can't find anyone better?
  18. The downward spiral and the routs the team has suffered. The obvious problems with the porous defence and defensive playcalling. The inability of the team to find quality replacements or adapt the game plans to compensate for the opposition's game plans.
