  1. If the calf injury is still plaguing Nichols, but he is going to start, he will be pretty much rooted to the ground- no rollouts or QB draws. The O-line is going to have to protect him as well as they have this season. No Nichols, no trip to Calgary next week.
  2. For Givens, this could be classified as a dangerous opportunity. If he's a keeper, then he will rise to the occasion and have a great game. If he's another also-ran, he will not distinguish himself and become the subject of a trivia question. Some athletes never get a chance to show their stuff even when they have potential, so Givens has what others would love to have.
  3. I would put the Esks at the top, but after that it looks about right.
  4. I seem to recall that Wally Buono has long-time Montreal connections. If he becomes available, the Wettenhalls would do well to hire him in some management position.
  5. That's a sexist term. It is "letter carrier"- a non sexist term like "snowperson".
  6. The Glieberguys set new standards for utterly incompetent ownership. I remember being embarrassed for the Ottawa fans and the whole league.
  7. The rest of the line he was part of was no heck, either. That could have affected his play.
  8. In the fruitcake of life, it's the nuts that give it character.
  9. All and sundry had better pray he lasts the game.
  10. All of which means exactly squat. The only thing that was relevant was that the Bombers left Calgary with the two points.
  11. This was from a 1290 radio quoting Dressler.
  12. For the past two years I have been wondering why JFG has not been used more. Yes, he drops some balls, but his YACs are always impressive.
  13. Maybe we could slip Justin Sorenson something just before the game to cause uncontrollable flatulence? Like a dozen bean burritos?
  14. FWIW, the forecast for Sunday is for a sunny day with a high of -3 and a chance of snow. Weather at this time of year is pretty unpredictable, though, so no definitive forecast until Wednesday.
  15. There are rumours out of Bomberland that Nichols is very iffy for Sunday, but it's hard to tell if this real or head games with the Esks.
  16. From 3Down Nation: A former Calgary Stampeders linebacker suspected of killing his wife complained about the impact football had on his health in a video posted after the killing. Prosecutors say that Anthony D. McClanahan has been arrested but not yet charged in the death of Keri “KC” McClanahan. She was found Thursday in a Park City hotel with knife wounds to her throat. He has also been charged with child kidnapping after authorities say the 46-year-old took his eight-year-old son from an Arizona school on Oct. 3 without the mother’s permission, then travelled through Nevada and Utah. McClanahan played 55 games for the Stampeders between 1995 and 1998, making 227 tackles and registering 18 sacks.
  17. Based on the performances of both teams in the past four games, the Bombers will have a tougher time with the Esks than the Stamps. This could be the year the Bombers get to the Grey Cup and if/when they do, I like their chances.
  18. The tweet of the day: randy turner ✔ @randyturner15 DON'T FORGET: Daylight savings time ends on Sunday. Winnipeggers are advised to turn their clocks back to when Matt Nichols was healthy. 4:06 PM - Nov 3, 2017
