If the calf injury is still plaguing Nichols, but he is going to start, he will be pretty much rooted to the ground- no rollouts or QB draws. The O-line is going to have to protect him as well as they have this season. No Nichols, no trip to Calgary next week.

For Givens, this could be classified as a dangerous opportunity. If he's a keeper, then he will rise to the occasion and have a great game. If he's another also-ran, he will not distinguish himself and become the subject of a trivia question. Some athletes never get a chance to show their stuff even when they have potential, so Givens has what others would love to have.

I would put the Esks at the top, but after that it looks about right.

I seem to recall that Wally Buono has long-time Montreal connections. If he becomes available, the Wettenhalls would do well to hire him in some management position.

There are rumours out of Bomberland that Nichols is very iffy for Sunday, but it's hard to tell if this real or head games with the Esks.

Based on the performances of both teams in the past four games, the Bombers will have a tougher time with the Esks than the Stamps. This could be the year the Bombers get to the Grey Cup and if/when they do, I like their chances.
