Unless Kevin Glenn is resurrected, Evans will get all the time he wants.

It was pretty much a given that Matthews would be in the lineup this week (unless it comes out about him being a member of the Manson family and the NXVIM cult), and I would bet that Wolitarsky and Adams will be good to go.

The faithful would have felt a lot better if the Bombers had gone down after a good effort, but this loss was self-inflicted.

Because that is not the way that O'Shea rolls.

My doctor told me that once he told an older lady that she had "acute angina" after her physical and she blushed and then thanked him for the compliment.

Maybe he is actually right.

Considering all the other weird moves that Hervey has made so far, is that so much of a stretch to imagine?

He's a triangle?

It tends to be an accelerating process- if there is a bad culture, good recruits will leave rather than adopt the "us against them" attitude and then only the problematic recruits will stay and perpetuate the culture.

Yes, "we" need to play a helluva lot better to beat good teams.

There are some really scary police out there- racist, gynophobic, violent and addicted. The worst thing about that is the":blue wall" where they protect their offenders come hell or high water.

This is no a binary answer. If the quarterback is playing as poorly as Nichols did Friday, he can singlehandedly throw the game away as happened last Labour Day. To win, a quarterback does not have to be stellar in execution but he is the spark plug of the team. He has to be at least a ..here it comes...a game manager. Nichols was neither stellar nor average against the 'Cats.

More than that, I am sure that he is happy to not be associated with this disaster of a team.

The Lions are so bad in so many areas that any new GM, or coach for that matter, would not know where to start.
-
Not one good game this week. According to the TSN broadcast, Hervey went into the Lions' dressing room after the last pathetic outing/game and called the whole team out complete with insults and threats. Obviously, his screed had the desired effect. At this rate, the Lions will be fortunate to win one game and their collective body language at the end of the second quarter perked up a bit but they are screwed and they all know it.

I am not happy that the next Bomber game is against the sad-sack Argos who will put up the resistance of a wet Kleenex. If the Bombers roll over the Argos, as they probably will, they may assume that all is well and Hakuna Mata. I would have preferred them to play the Esks next to find out if they have what it takes to grind out a win when things are not going well, or if they are pretenders who have had the benefit of a soft schedule.

Nichols had plenty of opportunities to work his way out of his funk but by the middle of the third quarter, it was obvious that he had stalled out. The rest of the offence saw that and stopped playing to the max. That sets a bad precedent- that the coach is willing to sacrifice the game in order to placate the quarterback who just didn't have it that night.

Nichols stunk tonight and that was evident early in the game. The problem was that he was left in too long- he ought to have been pulled in the third quarter. The O-line was not good but even when Nichols had time, he looked unsettled. In Harris' defence, he did had only a few good runs, but that has to mostly on the O-line because usually when he was handed the ball, a TiCat was right at his elbow. The way the Nichols was functioning, I cannot see how Matthews would have made any difference. It is unsettling that Nichols was presented with an opportunity to redeem himself and win the game when Masoli went down, but he choked.
