Testing Our Mettle: Eskies Coming Here
triple thumbs up. He doesn't look like a monster D lineman. But he is a monster D lineman. None of the players on the bombers make a big deal about themselves as individuals.

Matt Nichols, Elite quarterback?
As far as I can tell, once fan/media opinions are set, they don't change much. At this point, no matter how well he plays, Nichols will be pronounced good enough to win, and no more. And it does not matter if this is contrary to stats, personal observation, team opinion. Eg.... stats atomic posted re Reilly, Nichols, Shmoe Levi. Comments from Andrew Harris. and so on. It'll always be "yah but he couldn't" ............. (insert your favourite shortcoming here) re fifty fifty ball, he threw one perfect one yesterday, one that missed by about a foot and a half, and threw at least one perfect one to lankford prior game. Those don't count for the above reason.

Matt Nichols, Elite quarterback?
Maybe take a look at his past coaching record... the QB's he has worked with over the years, and how they've done.

Matt Nichols, Elite quarterback?
Bruce Arians Another interesting thing he said: To Arians, a quarterback’s brain is the hardest part to evaluate. It’s a take-it-or-leave-it scenario, Arians said. Quarterbacks either have the smarts or they don’t. “Being able to decipher the information: What’s my protection? Am I hot? Do I have a sight adjustment weak side? What’s the coverage? Who do I throw to in this coverage? That all happens in 1.5 seconds. If you can’t process that information, you probably can’t play.”

how much better could the touch have been on his long td pass to lankford the other day?

Matt Nichols, Elite quarterback?
Right now he is top level. Amongst other things, his comeback wins prove it. Comeback wins are accomplished by elite quarterbacks. Question is can he keep it up. Hope so. I think it might be a bit bumpy, but would answer yes he can keep it up. Bo Mitchell has looked average at best in some of the games I've seen this season. Too bad we can't do a fantasy game, with the Quarterbacks for Calgary and Wpg swapped. Good post Spuds.

US Politics
I just checked, no American President has gone to jail. Most nations seem to have a sort of de facto immunity for former leaders. Not many instances of former leaders being jailed, anywhere. Idi Amin walked. to Saudi Arabia.

Blue Tackling
wow people are getting testy, and the team has a winning record. yikes. spuds, I accept that that's what they want him to do. Probably works great.

OK I get it, Morning big blue doesn't like Duron.

Blue Tackling
I've seen Hurl season after season, at the snap, running into the other team's O line... as soon as he makes contact he stops moving, or gets pushed sideways or backwards. or just falls down. Not saying he's no good, I'm just saying that having him rush the passer up the middle does not work. It's actually comical how useless it appears to be. Maybe it's getting something done. Bring in Antoine Winfield to teach tackling! Pete Bersich, former NFL player/coach says that the American college players are the least ready to play Pro Football, that they've ever been. He can explain this pretty clearly too.

Why can't he make a better play than that? If he can back it up, it aint boasting right? Anyway, if it's boastful so what? I mean really is that such a big deal in this world? Boasting? If being boastful is the worst thing you can say about Duron, he must be a pretty good guy. I say this for Duron. I haven't heard him say anything about other teams, other players. He hasn't slammed Montreal, he hasn't said anything about any other players that I've heard. he doesn't get into twitter arguments with other players, such as we've seen from other players. anyway I'm glad he's in the league, the catch he made was seen all over North America, drawing attention to the CFL. I guess his talking just doesn't bother me. Who cares, what difference does it make? I don't see the guy quitting on the field, I don't see him being afraid of contact, I see him making tough catches in traffic. I like watching him play. That's what matters.

Good example of tinting to get a rise out of people. This could have been stated "Duron Carter said he hopes to keep working and improve his performance each and every game" But that would not get noticed. football fans are like Jackfish, they'll bite on anything. Police news statement "Football player Duron Carter risked his own life, by jumping in front of bus, saving a child from sure death" Child's parent" "While we appreciate this, my wife and I feel that this is really just another attention grabbing move by loud mouth Carter!"

Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
In other words, (as a coach I heard about put it) "on to cincinatti"
-
Winnipeg @ Ottawa: Are they due?
If that's the case, (not saying it isn't) the head coach should recognize the problem, and deal with it.

Blue Tackling
Antoine Winfield tackled well. Small guy, who could tackle any size ball carrier.
