  1. Don't compare this to an acrimonious divorce. You are trying to minimize the situation by reframing it and it shows. This isn't the case of a lover scorned and you putting it into that kind of comparison can only serves to minimize the victim's credibility while garnering sympathy for the accused. This is a workplace sexual harrassment investigation, let's get that straight. I get it that you really want Kelly and the Argos to be blameless here, a victim of a hatchet job by a crazed ex-employee hell bent on revenge. The investigation will tell us whether there is an inkling of truth to that. Right now all logic points to the victim being credible. She really has nothing to gain in comparison to what she has and will lose.
  2. Him even asking the girl out is at best highly inappropriate. If any of what she says is true as to what took place afterwards than Kelly is most definitely a harrasser. We likely wouldn't be too pleased with Dalton for being such a bonehead.
  3. Yea...Leo was a really good player. I remember him being traded. Tough day for me, I was a big fan.
  4. Yea...unfortunately his baggage comes into play whether it is relevant or not to this particular situation. Maybe it is a hit piece from a disgruntled ex-employee, but it very well might be that this employee was earnestly wronged. You seem to be dismissing that possibility. Kelly has a long history of troubled behavior, and this unfortunately lends some credence to the need for an investigation of these allegations. If it found to be much ado about nothing, then I am sure the CFL will move on and the Argos will still have their star QB. Restoring his reputation? You may not realize this because you are a died in the wool Argos fan, but most of the fans around the league regarded Kelly as a wingnut even prior to this.
  5. I'm thinking like 81 or 82. I was about 11 or 12 so it's a bit murky exactly what year. It was at a BBQ at his house. My brother took us there as he was our babysitter and he was invited by Leo's sister. There were other Bomber players there but I wasn't a fanatic until I was about 15 or 16 so I don't really recall who exactly.
  6. I guess where this is much ado about something after all. As much as I like giving Bluto the gears, I hope this doesn't result in Kelly having his contract/CFL career terminated. We need all our star QBs.
  7. That franchise just can't get out of it's own damn way....and I LOVE that about them.
  8. Plus it's Wendy's and not very good.
  9. I want Reacher as well. Just love that TV show, so with a nickname like that how can he not make the team.
  10. It's almost comical at this point. Just no accountability or professionalism from top to bottom in that organization. Hate to say it but Craig Reynolds has really been a god awful president over there....ok...I don't hate to say it.
  11. Today's different tweets concerning women just go to demonstrate the stark differences between our organization and the gappers in terms of professionalism and proper management. Just night and day. Awesome to see Paddy and Schoen coming out to hang out with a strong contingent of passionate female fans of the team. The RIders....well not so much....and I have to wonder who the hell are they to make fun of anyone's math skills anyway? 13
  12. My oldest is my Ezerins jersey. Given to me by Leo himself when my brother was dating his sister.
  13. I know you didn't ask, but we don't get many out to lunch TC reports anymore, Used to be that a couple posters in the past would bang the drum hard for some guy, get our hopes up, and then that dude would be released a couple days later. Nowadays, there's no real hyping up of guys in camp enough to know who to be disappointed about. lol
  14. It's a little cringy...but yea...a joke. Pretty hairbrained of a professional organization to mass email though. If my buddy quipped this over a few beers, I'd laugh but not if it was said to a woman. If my wife heard him she would probably have some choice words and he wouldn't get my protection.
  15. Wasn't a world beater talent wise but he played hard every down he was in. Those are the type of players I can respect.
  16. He wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes on this version of the Bombers. Elliot had immense natural passing talent but a QB that won't execute the play that is called will never last long. Tee Martin deserved a better fate to be sure, but at the end of the day the guy didn't exactly seize his chance either.
  17. Slay is the ultimate hyped up prospect of the past 30 years, Tee Martin...a close second in my book. Wasn't on Lapo at all. Elliot just enjoyed ignoring the play call.
  18. Damn....I really liked Roh when he played here. Just way too young.
  19. Workplace sexual harrassment isn't in an of itself criminal, just disgusting behavior of the highest order but you are half right....Kelly's behavior has now become very conspicuous. I know you wanna hang onto the shred of hope that this is a nothing to see moment in Kelly's career, or even a one off. History has clearly demonstrated this is not the first, and won't be the last time this guy's true character shows up. It really is too bad that a guy with million dollar talent is limited by a 2 cent brain. Not sure I would want to wear a Rider jersey with name on it around Winnipeg. Too many mouth breathers would find that double whammy too enticing to provoke an altercation,
  20. Good thing it's not the 80's or he would get one hell of a rough ride. Can't go there nowadays. Ohhh.....the puns would have wrote themselves.
  21. Mistaken on Schoen. He was found, almost accidentally, by McManus. Was never on our neg list until after McManus scouted him. However, yes, Rigmaiden does know receivers for sure. Wish he was still one of our scouts. EDIT: Just found an article that indicates McManus had him on his radar prior to the KC camp, even though he was there scouting someone else, he decided to also have a look at Schoen at the same time. Was intrigued and an ex-team mate of his Tom Terry was a position coach at KC and McManus grilled him about Schoen to confirm what he was thinking. I am not sure if he was ever on a neg list or not, or if Rigmaiden brought him to the Bomber's attention. Just that McManus wasn't there to scout him, but saw something interesting in him when he watched him and sent tape to Goveia to analyze and obviously TG saw it too. Might be Rigmaiden that initially scouted him? Don't know...but I think you gotta give that one to McManus.
  22. Jim Barker isn't there anymore though. He was a big reason for their scouting success. Barker got to pour over Murphy's database. I am glad those two are not in the front office together anymore. Murphy looks under every rock, and Barker has the knack for finding the best of the lot. Yea...Jim Barker's old buddy came through.
