His win loss record in Saskatchewan was quite impressive. He will never win a game by himself, but he proved he could do just enough to win last year behind a strong defence. If Streveler goes down, ZC provides us a chip and a chair. That's what we traded for. We were never going to get a bonafide starter in October but we got a guy who had a great win/loss record last year, has experience, and might just be able to do enough to ride a hot defence in the playoffs.

More experienced for sure. We can't throttle Strev back on his running because, as we saw the last couple weeks, he is no good unless he can take off. We couldn't let him run wild without insurance either. This a move born out of necessity.

Streveler has to show a better ability to read a defence than he does now to play run and shoot...that's for sure. BTW, haven't you heard? Brock Streveler aka RIleysRompers from RIderfans has informed us that Andrew can no longer break tackles anyway.

Let the new guy come in and get a couple games to decide who is staying and who is leaving. What's interesting about the timing is that it would strongly suggest they have his replacement ready or had to let him go because Popp was going to start unloading assets prior to the deadline in an effort to keep his job.

Just ribbing you BBRT. You are far more complimentary about the Stamps than the Bombers this year, despite the two teams showing some real similarities so I bug you when you compliment them but criticize us.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, our team game and strategy is tailor made for winning in cold weather. We run the rock like no one else, and defend the run better than anyone. When that thermometer goes down that's the two things you need to do the best. We could not win another game this year and I would still like our chances in the playoffs providing it is cold.

I would agree with you, however, Strev is also an OSH guy and I think that is the direction we will go.

I think most knew it, but we were able to get away with it so no one took it as a big deal. Now, Montreal and Hammy have given the blueprint to the entire league on how to slice and dice our D if Hecht is our S. Therefore, he needs to go to the bench.

Our biggest flaw fatale right now is not our defence. Yes, we got exposed for a couple games but realistically I believe we have the personnel to correct that before the playoffs. However, we are dead in the water if Streveler can't show an ability to stretch the field on offence. He's been figured out and teams are no longer respecting our passing attack and are shutting down what is a pretty one dimensional offence right now. We can't win the Grey Cup on Strev's legs.

That is pretty much the bottom line. Hecht is not physically gifted enough when he gets it right and he sure has heck does not have the physical capability to get back in a play where he screws up. We got away with it a lot earlier in the year because teams feared our pass rush and weren't going long on us. Now they max protect and go long knowing there is no safety help to be had.

...and because you have a long and illustrious history of criticizing all things Bombers. The point he was trying to make is that when all you do is criticize the Bombers for thousands of posts, even your best arguments are met with skepticisim or even dismissed because you have shown very little balance in your approach.

Supply/demand. I completely agree that time is running out on these guys if we don't win a cup. I personally don't want a management/coaching team that can't deliver a cup after 5 years. However, that being said a clear and obvious upgrade has to be available. Change for the sake of change is stupid.

No kidding. Some of these comments are just bizarre. It was a terrible half of football to be sure but seasons are 18 games, not 2 Q of football. We are in first place in a very talented West division. Some people are acting like we are 0-13.

Wins create buy in. Comparing the Daley era to now is a massive over reach. First place teams don't check out like you are suggesting. I mean seriously, one loss and you think we may be at the point of the coaches losing the room? C'mon man....these are professionals, they are not fickle like fans are. I can guarantee you that even a team as talented as ours would be in last place right now if the players didn't have a ton of faith in their coaches. One loss does not erase that good will and faith.

Our sun will have burnt out long before that.
