Decisions...decisions.....Jim (I will pay whatever you ask to hell with the cap) Popp, and Mark (the QB whisperer with NFL connections) Trestman or Chris ( I am the cheapest GM in the league) Jones and Steve (my offence sucks) McAdoo.... What to do....what to do....

Blue Bombers and 680 CJOB Announce Partnership Extension
GCn20 replied to TrueBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not in Thompson. However, last preseason I was able to listen to the Bomber game on 680 while fishing at a lake about 20kms South of Thompson. I haven't really attempted it any other time in Thompson because of a little thing called TV...but I was pleasantly shocked that my little 1970's battery op AM radio that I bought at a yard sale for $1.50 allowed me to fish out on my boat while listening to the game. -
I agree, year 5 should bring much higher expectations. It's time to put up or ship out.
-
You're probably right, however, injuries are a part of the game. The real litmus test of whether a team is a contender or a pretender is how well they do when their depth has to be activated.
-
I can't complain about the coaching, but a roster that can win a playoff game would be nice.
-
Forgive me if I'm a little out of the loop because it's been a few years since I was a coach in the WHSFL and haven't really been keeping up, but if Ray Jarvis is still the HC of the Lancers your son could do a lot worse than playing for him. Having known Ray, and coaching against him, for many years I can attest to his quality as a coach and as a developer of players.

I've heard coaches call out players in the media before. It's almost always an act of desperation or last resort, and almost always ends badly.

Henoc Muamba signed a 3 year 600k contract. He is not a pending FA. This year's salary is reported to be a whopping 225k. For that price, the Riders can have him. There is an article about what players they have signed on Riderville.

Week 20: Bombers @ Stamps "Week Of" Thread

Sometimes players don't progress the way you think they would. Davis had opportunity to cement his 2nd string status in the past few weeks and crapped the bed. Simple as that. -
Around the League - Regular Season Discussion (Redux)
GCn20 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The Riders cheat in every way conceivable. You would too if you won as few Grey Cups as they have. Cut them some slack....it's all they've got over there and it's been a disaster for the vast majority of the last 100 years. They are the league equivalent of the drunk brother that has finally found a job after 20 years of welfare. You just hope that it doesn't fall off the rails because it is so sad to watch when it does, and it's kind of nice he stopped pestering you for twenty every Friday even though his bragging about his new found minimum wage job is a little over the top. -
Another WSF loss should not be the end of this regime, but Miller should put them on notice that improvement is REQUIRED.
-
Possibly true and that's his evaluation to make as someone of far superior football intelligence than us.
-
I'm sure glad you did not make up stuff about their motivation and professionalism to try and endorse your opinion. Oh wait....I just read beyond the first sentence...never mind.

Harris is likely to finish with somewhere around 1900 yards from scrimmage if he plays this week. That's an outstanding season by any measurement. Singleton has also been very good, but voters generally default to the offensive side of the ball when given the choice. I think Harris beats Singleton, and I think Solly beats Singleton.

You guys are seeing the names and equating it with the GM position without anyone remotely suggesting that. You guys are taking the suggestion completely out of context.
-
I think you are insane right now lol. Not one person suggested that we hire someone new for our front office. Barker and Taman were both very successful scouts and talent evaluators in this league and that is what is being proposed. Scouting where it is abundantly apparent our current scouting is weak....not to mention we are currently without Craig Smith for an indefinite amount of time.
-
I am very disappointed in Denmark over the past several games. At a time this team needs him the most he seems to be pulling one of the disappearing acts that got him cut a couple years ago.
-
I agree. I think Barker would be my preference as well.
-
No it doesn't. However, I think we can all agree that our scouting network needs improvement.
-
Don't ever let Taman anywhere near your SMS, but he is a proven talent evaluator.
-
No one is suggesting that Taman be given the keys to the franchise. Taman is very good at evaluating receivers, running backs, and DL. Sign him up as a scout and work his strengths. Let McManus et al do their thing which appears to be secondary, OLB, and OL. Right now what we are lacking in our scouting department seems to be a good fit for Taman. That's all I'm saying. Barker too, is a good talent evaluator for QBs and receivers. They're unemployed let them turn over some stones for us, they have a massive network of connections down South.
-
The Bomber scouting and Kyle Walters seem to be incapable of finding/recognizing receiver, LBer, and QB talent. It's time for some new scouting. With Smith on the shelf for the foreseeable future in the scouting dept, it may be time to lure a top scout away from another team or find a place maybe for Jim Barker, Brendan Taman, or someone in a purely talent evaluation role. Walters brings a lot to like to the table, but his talent evaluation is not on par with other CFL GMs.
-
I don't think he would. I think he is punishing DC by taking him off the offence and this Redskins rumor is coming from Carter's camp to try and end his banishment.
