You know what.. It doesn't bother me that we haven't won a Grey Cup in twenty four years, what bothers me is that we havent even been remotely competitive in the past eleven seasons. We've had two winning seasons in those eleven years, and in those two winning seasons we had 10 wins. a 10 win football club is an average team in my eyes and we've barely even hit that level of mediocrity.

Week 11 - Tor.@Ham - Edm.@Cal. Monday Sept. 7

Yep. Every team seems to recruit/develop good backup QBs except for us.Beck is 34 years old. Not much more to develope. -
Of course he knows this. I expect the pressure, both internal and external on Brohm this week will be huge. I'm sure he knows his career as a professional football player hangs in the balance. I really struggle to understand why we kept him ( and to a lesser extent Marve ) into this season. One or both of them should've been released prior to camp. It's so funny because hindsight is 50/50. Prior to this season starting Brohm was almost universally praised for being a solid back up based on his play last season and there was even some discussion whether or not he was going to be in the NFL. Marve was thought of as being a future starter in this league, largely based on his win in Calgary last year. Both quarterbacks looked good last season, and the general consensus out of training camp was that we were set at the quarterback position. Obviously this season Brohm has looked terrible, and Marve not much better but no one felt uncomfortable about either of those guys backing up Willy coming into the season.

Meh.. Likely not worth the money. One good year, had 9 sacks in the previous three seasons. I wanted him, but not the end of the world.

Dunk: Chevon Walker to sign with Winnipeg

Chevon Walker is essentially Nic Grigsby. Terrible move. -

Looking forward to the Toilet Bowl Classic between the 0-9 Saskatchewan Rough Riders and the 3-6 Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Should be a doozey! -
We don't have a running back that is remotely close to as good as Charles Roberts was. The guy was truly special to watch. Heck we don't even have a quarterback that can throw right now to keep the defence honest.

Lack of adjustments, and undisciplined penalties for a team coming off a bye week, playing at home is completely unacceptable.

I didn't think the Bomber o-line played particularly well but Marve's pocket presence is a huge work in progress and quite frankly it makes the Bomber o-line look worse then it actually is. Whenever the pocket even started to collapse Marve would put his head down and start moving around. The difference between a decently mobile quarterback like BLM and Marve is that BLM is constantly looking for his read and target, even when he's forced to move the pocket, or run out of the pocket.

Having ONE American scout is an absolutely embarrassment.

I think a lot of people remembered Dominic Picards talents from 2008, and not 2014's performance. I'm fine with having him here this year. I don't think he's as bad as some people are making him out to be. One thing for certain though he isn't worth what he's making. Hopefully he wont be back next year.

Week 10 Aug 30 Sask@Ott. (Tor 15 Edm. 38)

Teams like Hamilton, Edmonton, and Toronto have have superior coaching and talent around them. Makes it easier to develop a QB. -
I say this and I truly do like Bucknor but.. It's pretty close. Especially if you're looking for weak links on the defensive side of the ball. He doesn't draw the ire of fans like the OL or Hurl do because they are much more front and centre and Bucknor is tucked away on the corner to hide him, but he's the guy teams always pick on after a turnover. I could live with him if we were using the ratio flexibility to bolster other positions, but we're not. He does get picked on but in his defense he holds his ground. He's extremely athletic and is a good tackler. Only problem is he still gets burned too much.

Week 8 Edm.@Mtl. BC@Ham. Ott.@Cgy.

It's funny seeing how cocky Roughrider fans are at 0-7 proclaiming that they're still in the playoff hunt. Citing us and the BC Lions as "terrible" football teams. Even though we already beat them this season, and BC has beaten them twice. They should be more worried about winning a single game first. -
I would be surprised to see Turner back in a Winnipeg uniform next season. He just hasn't been good enough.

Good! i'm taking my girl friend to her first game next week. I don't want to waste money if Brohm's under center. If Willy can't go it's time to give Marve the controls. First impression last. First time I brought my daughter to the game (vs Cgy when Elliott was injured) the Bombers lost and it didn't help to have her interested to the Bombers. Same thing, when I brought my wife on a rainy game when the Als are in town (then in the old arena), the Bombers lost too and same thing she never get interested in the game and the Bombers since then. The rain didn't help either. I'll give my girl credit she does watch every game with me. Although it's not her thing she knows i'm into it and she'll always put on her best game face. I think she's more excited to finally go to the game then i am! Hopefully a better team performance than Sunday.

What is wrong with Stoudermire? He doesn't seem to have the speed and explosiveness he did last season.

Week 7 Edm@BC - Mont@Ott - Sask@Tor

An undisciplined football team is a team that takes too many penalties. That's a reflection of the head coach. If you're taking a foolish penalty it's up to the coach to ensure it doesn't happen repeatedly. -

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion

I was friends with several of the Bomber cheerleaders growing up. Most of them are super nice and down to earth. Unlike some of the entitled bar star girls this city has to offer. Oh and yes a lot of the girls on this squad are HOT. -
It's nice for us to roll with four import receivers. Shows how much we've improved the last two seasons with Canadian depth and talent for us to be able to comfortably be doing that.

Team Losing Because Of Coaching Decisions
Arnold_Palmer replied to TransconaBomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
That's my point. "Better than Brink" did not equal "good QB", just like "Marve is better than Brohm" does not mean "Marve should be starting because he's so good". Many who want rid of Brohm think that Marve will come in and light it up, but like Elliot he could quite easily stink it up, and the coaches must believe that is the case based on not playing him and explaining how he is deficient in the areas they need him to be stronger in. Elliot's riskiness was not just riverboat gambler mentality, it was a fundamental inability to read the defence and exploit it. That was proven by the lack of success on any other team that took a chance on him afterwards. He was not a good QB, and "better than Brink" was such a low bar that people falsely elevated his ability to play because of it and pinned unrealistic expectations on him. I fear the same scenario with Marve now. My point is that Elliott hardly stunk it up, he moved the ball effectively but threw some ints in the red zone. Rather than working to correct that as a normal coach might do, he got the under the bus treatment cause the coach was pissed off as he often was and he liked to bury players who displeased him. No Joey Elliot stunk it up... 7 TD's, 15 INT for his career. You wont win too many football games when you throw twice as many Interceptions as Touchdowns.
