What would a knowledgeable and informed response be from a dedicated base of Jet fans if management stands pat with their current roster?
I'm currently trying to think of one if this scenario unfolds and not one consistent answer comes up.
I'll probably be in the minority, but I wouldn't be that concerned....in that I still think we can go all the way.
As the West stands today, I see 2 teams that would be favoured in a series vs WPG - - CGY and SJ. Nashville we're still right there with, they haven't exactly been great lately. That's a pick 'em, like it was last year.

Borderline crazy talk. A .500 record the rest of the season nets us a 75% chance of 1st or 2nd in the Central.
I refuse to believe this team wins 6 or 7 of our last 22 games.

I dont like that. Better to make sure hes ready instead. Brought Buff back 2 soon and he's hurt again
Agreed... tho I have enough trust in mgmt that they aren't rushing ppl back just to win regular season games.
Besides if you believe the team, latest Buff injury is unrelated to the last. #grainofsalt

I wonder if Stone to VGK is actually most likely now.
Connection to Stone with McCrimmon & Vegas with tons of draft picks. I think VGK only hesitation would be that they aren't as good this year.
-
If Stone's a goner too, how on earth is OTT going to make the cap floor next year? They're Bobby Ryan and entry level contracts.
Calling Phaneuf to Sens again...

and Duchene to be in the lineup tonight.....vs Ottawa. 🤣🤣 You can't write this stuff better sometimes...

Jackets better hope they win the Cup... letting goalie Bob, Bread and Duchene walk in FA... for nothing?

Duchene to C-bus
is awould be a HUGE win for the Jets, as Preds have been in on him since his Avs days. Would be a huge upgrade over Turris who's been abysmal this year. -

Trade Deadline Mailbag: Projecting how many first-round picks get dealt, Nyquist’s value, Rangers’ options and more.
By Craig Custance 1h ago
QuoteInterest in Mike Hoffman has picked up as teams look for alternatives because of the high prices elsewhere. An NHL source confirmed colleague Pierre LeBrun’s report on Thursday that Hoffman has been asked to submit his 10-team no-trade list. In terms of rentals, I’d expect Derick Brassard to be moved and the lack of defensemen on the market could help create demand for Bogdan Kiselevich. The Jets could use another defenseman and were aggressive in their pursuit of Kiselevich as a free agent.

Wild trade Coyle to BOS for Donato & 5th rounder.

Hahaha a must win. "must wins" for this team come in spring time, not a minute (regular season) game earlier.
Besides the bigger "must" I'd argue is Laine getting off the schneid.

marketing starting to ramp up for enormous Lord of the Rings series on Amazon. #LOTRonPrime
https://www.amazon.com/adlp/lotronprime
QuoteThough this series has been cloaked in mystery since its announcement, we had accepted early reports that the series would center around young Aragorn, the noble character played by Viggo Mortensen in Peter Jackson’s film series. But the updated Lord of the Rings TV series map suggests that this series could take place long before that character was ever born.

Frank Seravalli from TSN cautions that Jets wouldn't want to get burned having to carry this over to next year.... in the event they use the space & Laine actually gets top 10.
McDavid & Pastrnak currently tied for 11th with 31 a piece... 6 ahead of Laine.

They didn't sign Arceneaux to be used sparingly.
that's what they say about Collaros too.

I don't think it's ludicrous to suggest RECs may be following QBs they like.. .as another poster theorized the other day.
With D.Walker... I think there's lots of alluring things about TO and MLSE. Football specifc, fanbase etc... hell no. But as we see in other sports... lots of guys hate the spotlight. The flipside to the great fanbase argument is in a place like Toronto, Walker can conceivably have a year with no real pressure to succeed other than internal drive. Still makes the same coin...if not more... and I'd agree too that MLSE prob has some sort of housing options for these guys.
When guys spurn Wpg for the big cities, I often think we're lucky. I want the guys who see the team we have, Osh's leadership, the string of playoff appearances... if this city ain't good enough for you, than you're not good enough for us. Simple.

Why?
What I heard was, yes you have to give up something to get something but if we don't sign Stone after this season, to give up Roslo with the way he is trending up could potentially put us in a worse position than we were before we dealt for Stone moving into to the 2019/2020 season.
We gave up 2 picks and Erik Foley for Stastny. Ideally imho we don't take anyone out of our starting lineup to acquire a rental.
Just 1 pick given away. Blues signed Foley.

Surprising to me... tbh. Still think he's too pricey for us, but hey... I trust Chevy so...

good take. Feels like a tad of an overpay to me, but c'est la vie.... it's deadline day, to be expected.
We can forget about Stone now.....
