By that measuring stick, Sean Salisbury was a better Bomber QB than all of Khari, Dunigan, and Brock, right?

Given the fact that football is a true TEAM sport.....QB is only one part of that winning equation. My reference wasn’t solely on the QB position it was meant as a reflection on an organization and their success.

Yea I wonder when Hecht was saying to Sayles he messed up it wasn't him that screwed up...

The primary responsibility of the safety to be as deep as the deepest receiver. Hecht screwed up.  Unless you try and hide him and blitz him and then play cover zero......you are playing cover zero even when you don’t blitz him.

Lol - and there is nothing like that happening on offence? Have you watched Hardrick recently? Darvin Adams?

Other teams will do what Hamilton did - Hall needs to figure it out.

I watched an offence score 6 points in about 55 minutes of playing time. Hall needs to ask Santa for a safety, players that can wrap up and not arm tackle and send someone to the North Pole to find Bighill. Repeat and rinse there is blame to sprinkle across the entire staff.

What's with the Apple? Hall does not deserve an Apple nor road map. I would take him to the bus station and point him in any direction away from the Peg.

So let’s see Hall gets the blame for having to play a safety that isn’t worth a lick? Gets blamed for Rious who can’t cover or tackle. Gets blamed when Bighill becomes Big Invisible? When the defence caused a massive number of turnovers and scored points and actually won some games he was a hero. The offence repeatedly plays 30 minutes of football and goes night night in the second half and LaPo is still here?  There is enough blame to spread around on this peanut butter sandwich.

If you were the boss, would you be willing to move on from Lapo and replace him with Buck Pierce?

If you were the boss, would you be willing to move on from RHall and replace him with Devon Claybrooks (if he gets fired from BC)?

I can’t see Claybrooks getting gunned after one year. Then Hervey would have to admit he made a mistake right out of the blocks. This is the brother-in-law organization. Nobody got hired that was going to challenge the next guy in the pecking order. Miller hires Walters, Walters hires his buddy MOS, who hires Coordinators that he feels safe with. Then a host of less than experienced assistant coaches. Connect the dots and this is where we are at.

There really no good argument to be made for keeping incompetent coaches just because you cannot think offhand of who would be better. O'Shea has obviously made the decision that these (Hall and LaPolice) were keepers, and if he cannot see the problems or is just plain too stubborn to change, then he has put his own head on the chopping block.

If this keeps up you might need hip waiters at the chopping block....it might be a blood bath. Going to be tough to sell the “ we need to be patient”.   My patience..is on life support.

Loffler would have been there to destroy Addison as soon as he caught the ball...  Leggett in his prime would have intercepted it

Sadly those pages have been turned. That being said then there was a failure to find adequate replacements...yet people continually think that Hall is to blame. He is given what he is given to use....you can’t make steak out of chicken sh....t.

There’s no safety help coming - you could see that on the sayles/Addison long ball

if loffler or almost anyone is our safety that’s broken up or intercepted - well placed but it sailed

While I agree on your assessment of the lack of safety help....Loffler was perhaps a better version of Hecht, his ability to cover was marginal.

Whoever is responsible for Jeff Hecht starting at safety and continuing to see the field needs to share the vision of what they are hoping to achieve. I doubt that person is Richie Hall. The sad part is they have gone with it all year.

Fenner is playing out of position and would be an upgrade at safety imo. 150 defensive backs were just released from NFL camps.  Maybe when Alexander comes back, Hecht sits.

Never mind half time adjustments, mid season adjustments are tough for these guys.

Excellent assessment. Hecht got turned inside out on way deep play, he was way to shallow on another deep play. Attempting to cover his inability to cover is blitzing him which only is a trigger to a QB that can read cover zero. Rious...one can’t cover and two can’t tackle....put he was not alone in attempted arm tackles. Has anyone issued an amber alert for Bighill? Apart from his gimme interception he was virtually invisible. MOS saying the DBs played to far off the LOS....I guess that was to protect against the deep ball....opps. Never mind the LOS being owned by Hamilton on both sides of the ball. Ironic when you know Hamilton has no run game.

The "play McGuire goddamit!" campaign is set to kick off tomorrow night at IGF, arrive early to make sure you get a good seat on the bandwagon.

Forgive I should have indicated in my post a viable back up with some level of CFL experience. Hoping that McGuire is the next man up....when a number 2 QB is one play away from starting is not a plan.

Lose one game and everyone has to go.

The lack of patience from the fan base - and the board - is the very reason we have gone almost three decades between cup wins.

The one thing about the current head coach is that he has successfully taken the bullet for the players' failures.  Some people would say that is a sign of leadership.

Lack of patience.....this is now what the 5 th year of the patient plan.....l

in my opinion - None! Nada! LaPo is already penciled in as a HC somewhere. I think they will get into the playoffs - do their normal one and done and then disburse to parts unknown.

What makes people thing LaPolice will ever succeed as an HC.? Questionable as a OC and previous failure as an HC.  Is this another example of give someone a recommendation so you can get rid of him?

Just can’t understand how Hall thinks his blitzes will work or Lapo thinks running up the gut works... when they’re up top and can literally see the players missing assignments or the OL/DL starting to lose the battle

how do you not change it up?

Hall has to blitz Hecht because he knows he can’t play safety worth a hoot.

Sorry dude - trying to blame this on on the ref's failure to call what Adams did is just sour grapes IMHO. The Bombers offense and defense just plain gave up the ghost in the second half. I believe the office scored 3 points in the second half and we all know what to expect from a Richie Hall Defense - Nothing more to say - A Richie Hall defense will never ever win you a Grey Cup!

Interesting...you said that the O and D were ghosts in the 2nd...very true and if a Hall D won’t win a Cup....what is left to be say of the prospects on LaPo’s O winning one?

  15. Hecht....like is predecessor at safety simply have no cover skills and concept of pursuit angles or the ability to see the field. So the solution for their limited skills is to repeatedly blitz them and play cover zero. The end result of that is if you get no real pressure on the QB you have a defence that is then exposed to the big play. We again witnessed the result. So who is to blame the DC who has a safety that can’t cover or those responsible for having the poor player in the line up? Teams will continue to exploit it by playing max protection for the QB to protect against the blitz or go after him when he can’t play in coverage.
