  1. What's that word that Jones keeps repeating on the sideline? 0 for 5 in my predictions so far, but everything is sweet if I get this one right...go Argo go Ars go, ah, never mind.
  2. I agree. O'Shea and LaPolice have mutual respect for each other. They already have a game plan in place based on what LaPolice wants to accomplish for that particular game. I don't see any way, where O'Shea interferes with what LaPolice wants to do. It's not a top down directive from MOS for Lapo to follow. Quite the opposite I would think.
  3. Here's the injury update on Adams - he's unavailable for this game. That's really all we need to know. Our 'need' to know is what? Based only on curiosity? What purpose is there to know if a player has lower body function problems or rotating cuffs? Just be glad when they're declared "ready to go".
  4. Speaking of the Toronto - Rider game, Rod (call me RiderRod) Pedersen has posted the Riders are 3 point favorites to win...Draftkings? Perhaps? A lot of people don't agree... The picks Edwards: Toronto is better than they looked last week, the Riders are worse than people think. ARGONAUTS Dunk: Ricky Way will shake off the rust, Darian Durant will not. ARGONAUTS Hodge: This is football; you can’t immediately win with 19 new starters in your line-up. The Riders are going to need time to gel — a lot of time. ARGONAUTS Smith: Riders will be pumped for last home opener at Mosaic, but Toronto will spoil the party. ARGONAUTS Gasson: The Riders will look better than they did in the pre-season but it won’t be quite enough. ARGONAUTS Filoso: With over 30 new players on their roster and less than half a pre-season game to gel, I’ll take Toronto over a Saskatchewan team that has yet to knock off the rust. ARGONAUTS
  5. There is absolutely no truth to the notion that each year, high school graduates (both of them) have their graduation photos encased in frames like the one above.
  6. Your toilet, and your "volume", is not open for discussion. Please. Besides, I don't think that's the same thing. Moving 70% more mass seems like it was made specifically for Saskatchewan - to match the need, you might say.
  7. Ottawa at Montreal Harris vs Glenn - Glenn threw to 8 different receivers last week against the Bombers, and was fantastic in his ability to get the ball away..even if it was just in time. Harris came on in relief of Burris and promptly rolled up 17-19 in his relief time...for 292 yds and 3 TDs. But Harris will be game-planned by Thorpe this week, and that will be different than coming in against an unprepared defence. Harris had an outstanding game, and was QB of the week, but I doubt it will be as easy this week. Montreal just might surprise. Toronto at Sakatchewan Everybody with any interest in CFL games, or not, will want to tune in to this game if not only for the sheer lunacy that the Riders, under Jones, have created. The soap opera that Jones has created will unfold tonight. Millions and millions of Rider supporters (jock-straps for short) will tune in to see their new hero lead the newly arisen 'vanquishers'. Saskatchewan had the bye in week 1 Toronto got steam-rolled by Hamilton last week and Ricky Ray's rust was exposed. Ray got sacked 6 times and looked Willied (if I can borrow that expression). Ray still threw for 282 yards and was 26-36 for 2 TDs, so he wasn't completely ineffective. He should be much better against a questionable secondary. The question is - will he have time to throw this week? This is an unknown defence in Sask., because they haven't played together or haven't played much at all. I suspect Ray will be ready this week. Will Durant? Durant hasn't played in over a year. Do you know what would take the sting out of last week's Bomber loss on opening day? - That's right...a Rider loss.
  8. It's statements like this that cause the eruption of responses that are seen to be made by "optimistic sorts"...because it is inaccurate. You may not agree but the Bombers never were 'out of that game'. Why? They still made plays, and Montreal didn't execute when they had to. Just like the Bombers - who didn't execute when they had to. The Bombers may have had reprieves...but then, so did the Alouettes. And the game stayed close. And so it seemed..but still the mighty Alouettes weren't up by 30 points, and almost couldn't put the Bombers away. Yes, unfortunately, it does look familiar and totally what the Bombers didn't want and didn't need. Bully? I don't think so. Responding to nonsense does take restraint and many posters practise restraint, but nonsense is still nonsense, and negativity gets tiring after awhile. THAT contributes to less posts. Blue blinders fits all sizes and categories, both positive and negative, as blinders, by their definition, prevent a full understanding of the situation. See how that works? I myself, would encourage MORE participation, not less, by present posters and lurkers, both friendly and on the darker side..
  9. So, 3000 players were looked at by the Riders and their scouting system eh... Some CFL facts...CFL News -The Riders’ final 46-man roster will not be available until the end of the day on June 29th but a quick look suggests that as many as 35 players (approximately) could be playing their first-ever game for the club. -The Riders’ roster as of early this week held 37 players in their first, second or third CFL season, the most in the CFL. -The Hamilton defence held Toronto to just one yard rushing on 7 attempts last week. -The Argos drew only 7 penalty calls last week – the second-lowest across the entire CFL. -On the flip side, the Argos were -3 on Turnover ratio, the poorest in the CFL -Lirim Hajrullahu: Started his Argos’ career by making both of his FG attempts and both were from 40+ yards (40, 51). -The Ti-Cats’ offence produced four straight scoring drives in the first half last week against Toronto (three FGs and a TD to take an 18-0 lead. They ran off two consecutive TD drives in the second half to seal the Game time conditions should be a very interesting test for Darian Durant in his first real action in over a year. He'll have to be more than adequate with his new receivers. HC Jones doesn't seem to think it may be a problem, and he is waayyy out there in his belief that the Riders will do super well. Game time 10 pm ET
  10. BEWARE : the overuse of correction fluid in this thread can be hazardous to your reading pleasure...
  11. The most telling line in that report for me is: Teach the QB but don't change the way he plays. I don't know how many times my mom used to tell me that. Ok - never, but the point remains. Don't take the Buck Pierce out of what made Buck, Buck. Or Dunigan, Dunigan. Let Willy succeed or fail by being Willy. Let him get out of that fog jungle that he's in on his own..if he can. The fellow who beat him last game was known for having happy feet himself, but has found a way to play around it. Lawd knows we need Willy to do that too. And soon.
  12. Johnson caused the fumble Randle got. Bass caused the interception that Randle got. That's the defence doing their job. Kinda like Montreal's defence doing their job of stopping our 3rd down gambles. Willy caused his own fumble. Willy overthrew 3 times for what could have been game changers. Glenn didn't miss those. That is the way the game went and we lost, and didn't look good in doing it, but conversely, flip that long TD pass to Smith or Adams, and just get one of those 3rd down situations, or Willy doesn't fumble, well, you get my point, I hope. We made mistakes but to say we were never in the game is only related to the fact we just put ourselves in those situations. Oh, and we did get killer penalties too.
  13. There is nothing stopping any one of our fine posters from gathering and posting, information that may be of interest to Bomber fans. Maybe more doing, instead of waiting for it to get done will help matters along? Any forum is only as strong as the members who contribute to it, hopefully in more positive ways..
  14. Free agency CFL Draft Rookie Camp Training Camp Pre-Season All leading up to this... But, you now what, we carry on and Believe in Blue..
  15. Sacks allowed after week 1: Toronto - 6 Winnipeg - 5 Calgary - 3 BC - 3 Hamilton - 2 Ottawa - 2 Edmonton - 2 Montreal - 0 Saskatchewan - 0 sacks, many many sucks.
  16. WEEK ONE - CFL POWDER RANKINGS 1 Hamilton 2 Ottawa 3 Montreal 4 BC 5 Edmonton 6 Calgary 7 Winnipeg 8 Toronto 9 ------- Of course Saskatchewan's awesomeness cannot be taken into account yet, but I'm sure they'll break into the top 9 next week...
  17. This is not a coincidence: Would Drew be practising throw-always if being sacked otherwise, was a consequence?
  18. I really don't think people are giving Glenn enough credit for the game he had on Friday. Despite what some people say (pause) Glenn did a very good job of escaping the rush and hitting his target almost 75% of the time. The times we were close to sacking him, once by Posey, resulted in a missed Int. by Fogg in the end zone, an interception by Randle just before Glenn got hit and a grumby-like side-arm throw by Glenn just before he was sacked. There were more instances, but sometimes you have to give the other guy credit. This is one of those times.
  19. lf you want to question anybody's management decision, bring Toronto's management decision to go with Ray over Harris into the conversation. That's the real head scratcher. As much as we're putting question marks after Willy's name, at this point, when you believe you have your guy, you try to keep him for the long term. It's still too soon to bail on Willy, and to compare Ottawa's situation, with a 41 year old QB at the helm, is plain silly. Ottawa made the right decision. It will soon enough become evident whether we could have, or even should have, made a play for Harris.
  20. OTHER BOMBER QUOTES : “We’re still a new team, man,” Cummings told bluebombers.com late Friday/early Saturday after the setback. “It’s Week 1. We’re still gelling together; we’re still feeling it out. Our offence is going to get better, we’re going to get better, period. “REMEMBER, THE BIGGEST ADJUSTMENTS IN FOOTBALL COME BETWEEN WEEK 1 AND WEEK 2 IN ANY SEASON.” EUCLID CUMMINGS “Fans just need to hold tight. Week 2 we’re going to put on a better show out there, especially defensively.” AND: We missed a couple passes here and there,” said Smith. “But we’ll get it done. I’m not worried about it.” AND: Asked if the loss put a damper on all the hype and hope surrounding this team heading into the season, Jamaal Westerman said: “There’s no damper. It’s the first game of the season. Of course you wanted to come out of there with a win, but I don’t think it puts a damper on the enthusiasm. I think it’s a damper that we didn’t get this win. We could have won this game; it definitely was a winnable game.”
  21. MY obvious established opinions. That's a good one. Can't argue with that logic, so I'll see ya later..
  22. The pass protection was adequate for most situations. When it was second and longer, in obvious 6 man rush situations, Willy did not handle it well at all, at least once running into the rush instead of throwing the ball away. Glenn, and their O-Line bounced the ball right away and Glenn made several very good plays to avoid sacks. We could/should have had at least 3 sacks, but Glenn found a way to get rid of the ball. In fact, I'd say Glenn got hit harder than Willy last night. This no attempt to deflect from the O-Line, who still have a ton of work to do, but rather to direct where the problem should be addressed - at QB. In obvious blitz situation, that ball should be gone, fast and accurate. Didn't happen. I mean how many of us knew the blitz was coming? EVERYONE knew.
  23. You see? That's why Bob Wylie gets mad. Sacks blamed on his O-line. One sack for Willy's fumble, and I can think of at least 2 more times, where Willy could have, and should have got rid of the ball. The only sack I believe was totally on the O-line was deep in our zone where they threw a stunt at us and we handled it poorly. Ended in a safety. I cannot remember the last sack, by then I was in a stunned frame of mind.
