Execution was solely lacking...from Willy. Two sacks can be directly linked to Willy...and the fumble. This offence, in the first half, reminded me of a Brian Brohm/Robert Marve/insert QB name here run offence, with the same results. There are backups on other teams that would have done better - not to mention on our own team. Willy, to me has lost the starting role, and that's not only from last night. We won't start Nichols, with Willy as the back up, but we should. If only to give a mental slap to Willy's senses. Too much is riding on our sort-of-proven, 9th best starting QB in the league. He's got to be wayy better than shown.

I agree, our D was far from the reason we lost this game I'm going to give Glenn all the credit in the world on this one. We had tons of pressure on Glenn, but somehow, he got the ball away. He even took, maybe a half dozen solid hits after the ball was gone...but he kept playing on. We've all seen Glenn play poorly...this was Glenn at his best.

When asked about the defence O'Shea said this: "We gotta get off the field and give the offence more opportunities." - Coach O'Shea I beg to differ Mr O'Shea. We have to stay on the field longer on offence, to give the offence more opportunities....and give the defence their much deserved rest.

A tiny edge. If we're simply satisfied with thinking we can come out and start the offence without a concerted effort to run plays down the other team's throat and continue with this laisez-faire, what will-be-will-be-offence, we'll start slow again. Yes, Willy will see film and admit the mistakes but will he, can he, translate that onto the field in games? I'm beginning to think not. We simply can't be a team that ho hums our way offensively. We have to think about playing to get the lead.

I don't think Montreal did anything to us that we couldn't have done to them. Our defence was, once again, on the field too long. This should have been a good game. It was there for the taking, but K. Glenn executed like he does when he's playing well, and we played like we had our former 3 backups in the lineup. Mismatch resulted.

The trend for Drew Willy's play has not been good for awhile. He's establishing a pattern of poor, or slow decisions, and they are costing us. This pattern had started long before his injury and with the newly installed rookie camp where he had tons of time to throw the ball and get his timing down. Slow start pre-season games 1 and 2, and an inexplicably bad throwing performance yesterday. As Willy goes...so does our offence. It's backyard football logic. Hes going to have rip off that shell of a former player and put on a cloak, because, right now, he's the 9th best starter in the league.

I didn't see much difference between the teams..except in one area. Both teams had exceptional pressure on the QB. Both teams played decently on defence. The kicking was even. We did better on returns. (We had more) Montreal was undisciplined and we didn't take advantage. The running game was even. Montreal's BIG advantage was at QB. Kevin Glenn was outstanding. He executed the really nice game plan almost flawlessly, even under extreme duress. The stats are going to show 4 sacks to 0, but that is misleading. IMO, only 1 sack should have been on the O-line..on a missed stunt, the one on the almost safety. Deflated ball of the game easily goes to Drew Willy for that awful performance. When he wasn't getting easily sacked and he did read the blitz, he either threw to the wrong guy (interception) or missed the guy completely. I don't think I've seen as many missed opportunities as Willy missed - for big yardage and probably 2 TDs. Glenn didn't miss his throws, and that shows the big difference. With that 1st half performance by Willy, we never stood a chance. And no, the O-Line wasn't to blame. Glenn had the same issues. IMO, Nichols should have played because Willy was nowhere near having the touch. Time to put BIG pressure on Willy to perform..before it's too late. We simply cannot start every game like this. Oh, and a big game ball to Randle last night. He was outstanding.

I'm not going to rag on our defence because, once in a while, you get a stud performance out of a QB, and we saw that last night. Even under tremendous pressure at times, Glenn got the ball away, somehow to somebody..even side armed. They had a a good game plan with lots of mix and GLENN executed it to perfection. And Glenn got hit, tons of times, bounced back and threw the ball again. They beat us hands down on Offence because they executed and Glenn led the charge.

Speaking of LaPo, somebody on Twitter wrote on the need for the Coach's playbook to break down how bad this offence was doing.

As a healthy Durant goes..so does a healthy Glenn. Both teams are QB reliant. However, Montreal has the better backups. All 4,5, or 6 of them. Having looked at both rosters and potential, I'd pick Montreal all day and night. Nobody knows Sask.'s depth. Montreal has a better lineup up and in.

A trade proposal of epic popportions. Throw in the rights to Jade Etienne, and you may have a deal. What does Jones care? He'll just make the difference up with his cunning and guile.

Game day - Beware of Kyries Hiebert, Bear Woods, Venable, oh hell, the whole front seven of Montreal. Anxious to see how our secondary handles a good set of receivers. I want a Fogg to descend upon their entire receiving corp. Double anxious to see OUR front seven as they attack Montreal's once-great O-Line. Cummings, Westerman, Shologan - have a field day please. Excited to see : Bass at MLB, and Wild flying around making tackles. - Dressler and Smith get open and make some plays. Pat Neufeld says: "We're ready to finally let loose and play for our fans" I say - "We've been ready for that kind of play for a long time" "PROVE IT" I want to see Harris, the real Harris, run amok. I seriously want Willy to drop that 'aw shucks' demeonor and adopt a take hold, grab-the-offence-by-the-balls-and-lead-to-a-win mentality, ala Mike Reilly. Boy, do I want to see that. I also want to see Glenn be ineffective - because we're making it so. Most of all, I want to see an effective Offence - and not one two-and-outing us again. Had enough of that. I want to see that high tempo, confuse-the-defence, move the ball downfield and score Offence we were promised. Is that too much to ask?

Collaros is on the sideline. Masoli starts and Ted Laurent doesn't. MLB - Larry Dean?? Masoli has not started a regular season game since July 18, 2014 – a 10-7 loss in which he went 9- of-20 for 107 yards, one interception and no TD passes. Has anybody actually seen Jace Davis? Like with a helmet off or something? Is he for real? Can he really catch footballs? Is he readily recognizable? Could you pick out Jace in a crowd? Something to think about.. For that matter, is there even a Johnny Adams in camp?

I hope Willy comes out and executes so well that he leaves some of you guys - speechless..

Although true, Montreal had better be ready also. Dressler, Smith, Adams etal will be looking at two rookie CFL starters in Montreal's secondary.
