  1. "BIG BLUE PETIONING THE LEAGUE TO INCREASE THE ROSTER BY SIX" OK, maybe not for real, but MOS said this very thing when asked about how he's sorting out the linebacker situation. "We've got a lot of really good LBs." "We're really excited about that group."
  2. I'm going to say this without going out on a limb. I believe the QBs currently lining up behind Drew Willy on the depth chart, put us wayy ahead of those QBs that were in TC last year.
  3. Must admit some guilty pleasure in knowing we got this guy to play for us..
  4. Ah, these are the kind of plays to be looking for...
  5. 2nd only to the din created by Rider fans when Rod Pedersen and Rob Vanstone figure out the Riders must have scored, and tell the crowd to remove their melon heads and cheer...for the home team...because it's a good thing...like barbecues, where you can eat with your fingers again, and dancing..even if the hokey-pokey really is what's it's all about for them.
  6. But, this is training camp, is it not? Where a new playbook gets worked on, and you practice with all the new guys, and all the new schemes, and you work the unevenness off? I'll bet were not the only camp that has uneven play from the QBs.
  7. Well I'll be, they made a great choice to start.
  8. Wild will be part of an intriguing body of LBs that the Bombers are high on. Khalil Bass, Ian Wild, Moe Leggett, Sam Hurl, Tony Burnett, Jesse Briggs, Garrett Waggoner, Knox, Teague Sherman along with newcomers Duron Singleton, John Rush (currently injured) and draft picks Shayne Gauthier and Frank Renaud. “We’ve got a lot of good linebackers right now and I feel very comfortable with any of them playing for us,” said O’Shea. “The hope is we can get a bunch of different looks on the field and keep everybody fresh during the game.” The Bombers are just beginning to open their package of linebacker setups. 3-4...4-3..and even 3-3 with 6 defensive backs. They can do that with the roster being built the way it has been built up. It sounds like Coach Hall will be able to deploy a more "exotic" look as the season progresses.
  9. There's nothing reported on Richards. He has healed fully from off-season surgery, but that has left him slightly behind in conditioning. And that would be normal Heres an interesting piece. Putting the receivers battle into numbers...Weston Dressler, Ryan Smith, Darvin Adams and Rory Kohlert will likely take four of the Bombers starting receiver jobs leaving just one starters job for the other 12 receivers in camp.
  10. Patrick, Foff, Posey, Sherman, Celiscar, Loffler, Morgan, Kearney, Green are among the DBs joining the ones we already have in camp. Surely, there is enough talent and experience in these guys that will allow the Bombers to release the safety valve they feel they have in M. Harris.
  11. The attraction of a 1st round pick is tempting. The hornet's nest surrounding him is cause for caution.
  12. No, no, no. You can never spoil the legacy of the Beverly Hillbillies by associating that masterful show with the Riders.
  13. Below is a pretty good look at the Blue Bomber secondary through the eyes of ???. One thing I do know about him is...he's not a Demond Washington fan. (The departure of the four-year Bomber, who somehow earned a contract in free agency with Hamilton, truly was addition by subtraction at it’s finest.) In this blog, the writer states "The Bombers have some extremely intriguing rookies" "The Bombers also have exceptional Canadian depth in the secondary, as Taylor Loffler is not far from being pro ready, while Teague Sherman and Derek Jones both have started games." "Chris Randle, one of the league’s most underrated cover-men during his time as a corner, could slot in at boundary halfback or field-side corner depending on if the Bombers choose to roll with an All-American secondary" "Johnny Patrick’s ability to switch from corner to safety has certainly caught the attention of the coaching staff, but it’s been Kevin Fogg that has been earning more praise than any rookie defensive back at Blue Bombers training camp. With interceptions in both of the first two practices, the Liberty product, who seems to resemble Bruce Johnson with his outstanding change of direction skills, has received reps with the first-team unit at boundary halfback. Seeing as he’s earned those reps over some extremely talented football players in Julian Posey, Donald Celiscar and veteran defender Chris Randle, it’s not hard to envision Fogg bursting onto the scene and becoming Winnipeg’s 2016 version of Johnny Adams." "The Bombers have a plethora of options in the secondary, and with three elite players as well as Chris Randle to build around, the Bombers defensive backfield could reach new heights that perhaps not even Ottawa will see in 2016 if a couple of these young defenders – be it Fogg, Patrick or Posey – are as good as advertised." https://bomberbuzz.com/2016/06/02/bombers-defensive-backfield-could-rival-ottawa-in-2016/
  14. Nonsense. It's all about the perception. Saskatchewan wants to reset the market conditions for mascots and anything to do with "gain" is frowned upon.
  15. Chris Greaves did have value...for a trade. Neufeld does have value also. But there will be a tipping point for him. That tipping point can only be reached after we can secure a replacement/s. He also has value in deflecting talk about Hurl's terribleness - to himself.
  16. Yeah, that was my mistake. I had more info in that post but I self-truncated the length. The point included 2 more retirees in the same time period. "the retirement of three Canadian players in the four days since training camp opened" - 26-year-old former Toronto Argonauts fullback Zander Robinson - 28-year-old Canadian special-teamer and defensive end Mathieu Boulay - 22-year-old Doud Corby. Add that to the fact that there are heated 'arguments' in TC. And you have:
  17. I'm not worried anymore about Neufeld. When he plays, he will do well. He's at that point. If he doesn't play, I think the Bombers have brought in players whom they believe will be capable of playing O positions . And they covered their bases in the ratio, by deepening the National depth to a point where one or two injuries will not affect the caliber of starters. That's important, and one of the reasons, I believe, why we've used 8 Nat. starters instead of 7. They are preparing the roster for multiple variations and continued freshness in the lineup. Hurl, Waggoner, Briggs, Jones, Bucknor, Sherman, Morgan, Corney, etc. Piece by piece step by step, closer and closer...(borrowed from "slowly I turned")
  18. Eskimos' 2016 draft pick Doug Corby retires at 22, just two days into full camp. This must suck big time for a CFL team and its fans.
  19. "I'm loving Mike." - Paul LaPolice - May 31, 2016 I'm not tiring of hearing the many good words directed towards Mike, and his staff. We can only hope the word winning will soon be associated with him too.
  20. He'd be wise to keep at least an arms length away from such discussions.
  21. Don't know if it's true..but it is funny. The Canadian Revenue Agency actually commented on this one. Something to ponder ... but, worth a broad smile !Amazing, but true, if you think about it! The importance of accuracy in your tax return. The CRA has returned the Tax Return to a man in Canada after he apparently answered one of the questions. In response to the question, .. "Do you have anyone dependent on you?" The man wrote: ... "2.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 millioncrackheads, 4.4 million unemployable scroungers, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons plus 450 idiots in Parliament, thousands of 'politicians' and an entire group that call themselves 'Senators' The CRA stated that the response he gave was unacceptable. The man's response back to CRA was, ... "Who did I leave out?
  22. Thanks for all the reports. They are...encouraging. What I'm liking: Football is back. So glad the Argos have a home and are not travelling vagabonds for their home games...and causing scheduling nightmares...for other teams. Beautiful new uniforms. The holes, in our lineup, are being filled. ...catering to the fans. ie. Fans allowed on field after practice Thinking that...just when the opposition recovers from Shologan, Westerman, and Cummings plus, we hit them with Butcher and Corney. We're not dealing with J. St. John and his agent. Posting in the 3rd year anniversary of MBB.
  23. The votes are in. After the 1st day of the CFL training camps, it is noted that the Blue Bombers are the runaway winners of the best training camp uniforms. #royallyinstyle And it ain't even close.
