  1. Whenever I read this market report, I rarely mention the junk bond portion, nor the sell aspect. Here, in the sell portion, he's making it sound like Denmark and Nichols had nothing to do with the plays they put together. It was all the defence making mistakes totally on their own. Puzzling.
  2. What's the matter with you? That posting is nowhere near a political post. It was an event that drew 11.7 million viewers. ONE of the viewers was the PM. Of course that will get noticed. Just because you have a natural hate for the guy doesn't change the fact he was attending a concert...on a farewell tour fo Canada's favourite band. The only one spouting political nonsense, again, is you. You just can't help yourself. Leave it for what it was...a great farewell show, shared by millions of Canadians, even if you're not one.
  3. Oh great, one line of concert review, and the rest political shyte. Too bad you couldn't let it be.
  4. You're exactly right. They have an amazing catalogue of well known songs that have touched millions of fans and I'm sure with CBC's broadcast CBC had quite the audience for this show. It shouldn't be viewed as merely a broadcasted concert, but rather a sharing of a band, and especially one man's commitment to say farewell and thank you. It must take phenomenal courage to carry on and perform and I salute Gord Downie and will try to draw courage and enlightment from this performance. It wasn't perfect, but it didn't have to be. It was what we are...flawed. For those who missed it, especially with fellow fans, you missed something special. For those who saw it, you already know, and will not soon forget the images of Gord Downie and the band as they said goodbye.
  5. What a touching and memorable performance by the Tragically Hip last night!! A great show by our own Canadian band. Tragically Hip's Gord Downie uses Kingston show to call for action on Indigenous issues Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke briefly with the CBC’s Ron MacLean about the Tragically Hip on Saturday night, ahead of a shout-out by singer Gord Downie. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/tragically-hip-s-gord-downie-calls-out-to-trudeau-during-tour-finale-1.3729651
  6. I think they asked Hank to take a MASSIVE pay cut, but he told them to......it. Now what's that word again?
  7. Well, the writers were super wrong about the first two games in Week 9. Will they do any better in the next two? Edmonton vs Toronto Drew Edwards: There are, apparently, limits to Scott Milanovich’s quarterback voodoo. ESKIMOSJustin Dunk: Kilgore killing the Argos. ESKIMOSJohn Hodge: I’m not ready to buy into Edmonton’s “improving” defence, but they’re playing Logan Kilgore. ESKIMOSJoel Gasson: Kilgore is not the next QB. ESKIMOSIan Busby: Oh where’ve you gone Ricky Ray, Argos nation turns its lonely eyes to you. Ooo ooo ooo. ESKIMOSJosh Smith: If Ricky Ray were playing, I’d go Argos. He’s not, so I am not. Edmonton finds a way to get it done. ESKIMOSSantino Filoso: No Ray = no win ESKIMOSTotals: ESKIMOS 7 ARGOS 0 Saskatchewan vs Hamilton Drew Edwards: Hamilton back home with Collaros, Riders on the road where they’re terrible. TICATSJustin Dunk: Best part could be the Jones vs. Austin post-game throwdown. TICATSJohn Hodge: The Riders will get destroyed in Hamilton — and not because of a league conspiracy. TICATSJoel Gasson: Callaros makes Hamilton better. Riders struggle on the road, especially out east. TICATSIan Busby: Collaros and Ticats at home for first time in a while. This has horrible stomping written all over it. TICATSJosh Smith: Zach Collaros worked the rust off last week in BC and started to look like his 2015 self in the second half. He continues the upward trajectory and the Ticats move to 4-4. TICATSSantino Filoso: In keeping with the league conspiracy against Saskatchewan, Hamilton wins TICATSTotals: TICATS 7 RIDERS 0 MBB voters have Edmonton 21-9 over the Argos and Hamilton 29 to 1 over Sask.
  8. He ain't no negation, he's just "flippin' the burg".
  9. Interesting to read this week's picks by the writers @ 3downnation Montreal @ Ottawa Drew Edwards: Montreal in free fall. Hope this game doesn’t become a free-for-all. REDBLACKSJustin Dunk: At this stage of their careers Burris > Glenn. Barely. REDBLACKSJohn Hodge: In a battle of two struggling veteran QBs, I’ll take the team with the better receiving corps. REDBLACKSJoel Gasson: Hard to believe in Montreal right now. REDBLACKSIan Busby: For an encore, Duron Carter will push over the LumberJoes. It still won’t help his team win. REDBLACKSJosh Smith: Henry Burris is hearing footsteps, Duron Carter is going to go full Ric Flair and embrace being the hated heel, and Kevin Glenn is going to have a great Kevin Glenn game. ALSSantino Filoso: Fresh off a bye and at playing at home, this one’s a no brainer REDBLACKSTotals: REDBLACKS 6 ALS 1 Calgary @ BC Drew Edwards: They win this one and I’m all in on B.C. They will. LIONSJustin Dunk: Calgary is at their best when challenged. STAMPSJohn Hodge: Jonathon Jennings cements his status as the CFL’s newest elite quarterback. LIONSJoel Gasson: Another game of the year candidate. Time for BC to show they’re for real. LIONS.Ian Busby: Epic meeting between the top two teams in the West. Winner gets the hammer in the season series. Could be another classic. STAMPSJosh Smith: Game of the week, for sure. The winner here will own the tiebreaker and have the upperhand in the race for first in the West. Should be close, but home team prevails. LIONSSantino Filoso: Home field proves to be in the difference in a clash of the best of the West LIONSTotals: LIONS 5 STAMPS 2 ?‍?This second game should be the game of the week. It's for 1st place of course, and the series between the two teams. ?‍?Wally vs Dave and Jennings vs Mitchell......Messam, Paredes vs. Rainey and the BC defence Dan Ralph - Canadian Press B.C. won the first meeting 20-18 in the season opener for both teams. Chris Rainey figured prominently in that game for the Lions with two TDs, including one on a 72-yard punt return. Calgary outscored B.C. 22-7 in the fourth quarter July 29 en route to a thrilling 44-41 overtime victory at McMahon Stadium. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell completed 29-of-44 passes for 364 yards and three TDs. ?‍?Do you agree with the majority? Bye the way - MBB picks have BC over Calgary 18-11......with 1 tie predicted!
  10. We wouldn't have been that far ahead except for the points that we already happen to have to have scored in that game.
  11. I have to believe the plan was to acquire as many Nationals as possible, both starters and quality backups/special-teamers coupled with identifying quality OL imports to allow us to mix and match as needed. This plan is now in effect. If they believe it will be harder and harder to draft and get National OL players, then the next best plan is to try and get National starters, either by drafting or FA. The practice of having majority National OL players is fading and we have to adapt to change. It only makes sense.
  12. The first part is all true except for what you said...?
  13. Yeah, where do we stack up against them? First of all we had to get to 4-4 after starting 1-4. Every Bomber fan knows how we got there. We played the games against the teams as presented to us. And they played against us according to the team we presented them. Did the opposing teams not look at our lineup and consider, at least partially, that they were facing backups? Those are also the facts. Matt Nichols WAS our backup. So was Bond, and Hardrick. So was Loffler and numerous secondary replacements. Those are facts also. The fact that they may not be backups now is not relevant as to how they were looked at before injuries. The only assigned replacement due to poor play was Nichols over Willy. But can we say that Nichols is the permanent starter? Maybe. With an asterisk. Is it real? I'm pretty damn sure that Bombers fans won't plunge into the swirling mass of hysteria because we won 3 games in a row. I give the fans more credit that that. We surely don't need a souring of our victories by pointing out the other team's deficiencies, especially after having so many of our own over the years.
  14. The best thing for everybody involved, is for Brian Bulcke to retire....preferably 24 hours after signing with Saskatchewan.
  15. No, the Ridrs won't be firing Jones anytime soon. And yes, other fans want Jones to fail. Firstly, because they're our rivals, but maybe more importantly, because the guy is a dink, plain and simple. His cavalier attitude and disrespect for anything/anybody not related to what he's doing is so me-me to be over the top and is a model for Bizarro world sports teams. If there was a wrong approach to signing, trading, and evaluating, Jones and team have found it. But, sooner or later, they will turn it around in Sask. and the insufferableness will reach new heights. That's where the angst comes in. Other team's fans want to get their shots in and enjoy the moment before the hoopin' and fiddlin' starts - especially in their new digs.
  16. I recently saw, posted on Facebook, that somebody stole a significant amount of money from their employers. Does anybody know anything about this?
  17. You opened the door to using back up QBs, as if we should apologize, or feel the 'reality' of the situation. But I tell you that is the reality of the situation, at any time. Teams have to use backups..all the time. We have, for years. Your need to keep pointing out the "but, but but" in all things good for the Bombers is your way of simply negatizing any Bomber run for ten yards. And why? To simply point out the facts? As Winnie would say...oh bother.
  18. Holy structured sentences. DorD and paragraphs in the same post... ? Well said..
  19. Well TB, I didn't see Saskatchewan, not the CFL for that matter, offer to give us the Grey Cup back in '07 because we had to play our no experience backup QB after Glenn got his arm broken.
  20. It did cross my mind that the length is becoming crimonly long TLB, I'll see what I can do.
  21. If you think about it, it'll take 5 games to figure out Nichols as quarterback, and 20 games if Buck is involved.
  22. Hey, not fair. The only Ripper I see on this board is a Saskatchewan fan.
