There is not a doubt in the world that the Bombers need at least 1 bigger receiver. How can it be argued that that would open up the offence for more plays and help get the other receivers open? This 5-6 year delay in getting a top ranked receiver in the lineup is ridiculous. Every other team can get one. We better get one, and soon, if we want any chance this year.

But isn't that back-assward thinking? Aren't they the so called bad teams because we had a hand in beating them? Wouldn't we be the bad team if we didn't beat them? Don't they look upon us as being one of the better teams..because we beat them? We are an 8-6 team because we've won 8 games and lost 6. We are our record. Seems about right to me.

Wait, wait, wait. I forgot to ask the most important question leading up to this game. Did the WFC provide bouncy cushions to allow our big O-Line guys to do the IGF flight takeoff into the stands easier?

How Loffler has handled the starting position at safety is quite remarkable. It's not the minor leagues anymore. Impressive. He has to be considered one of the top safeties in the league. And he's still learning. I think that last Calgary game was a learning experience as well and he will become better because of it. Trending upwards..

It's not considered a forward lateral pass if both the ball carrier and recipient are holding the ball, at the same time, as was the case in the Bomber game.

Illegal contact on a receiver is quite a different matter, and I agree, there's no way to tell how illegal contact could affect the play, BUT, that's not what happened on that play, now is it? If you look at the play I mentioned, it has no impact on that particular play, but because, it's within the scope of challenges..it had to be called. No discretion. And that's what I'm talking about. Streamline the challenge rule so that we don't get the petty challenges that prolong the game.

Congratulations Calgary. You won a Mickey Mouse challenge on a downfield block which happened a second before the catch, and quite away from the play. Not the intent of the challenge rule at all, but since it was challenged so quickly, it shows that you're employing someone to look specifically for calls like that...as a fall back...in case the play goes against you. Again, not in the spirit of the rule. The basis of the challenge rule was sound. Unfortunately it has been bastardized and now it reflects poorly on the league and the refs. It's worth keeping, but get it fixed. It's innovative and can still be used effectively. Clean it up, for the actual play that affects the game, not the one 20 yards away, which never would have been called and has no effect on the play.

This guy was/is a presence. He always came across as a guy who knew what he was doing. I don't know what his trophy case looks like but he is highly deserving of this honour. And, what a name for football!
