Calgary's signature jersey's
Decent but I was expecting better. After the cool helmets I was looking for more of a splash. Reebok has had some home runs and some strikeouts. This is a double.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Think Henoc is definitely going to make the Colts.

NFL update on players potentially of Bomber interest
Man having one of those Canadian defensive linemen here would be so flipping awesome.

Nick Moore
If he's out I start Sears and JFG over Romby and Sherman. Unfortunately it Romby got (from what I could tell) all the reps at WR with Moore out today.

Chiefs release Weston Dressler(Updated: Now signed by Riders)
The second worst part of this (first is him returning for games against us) is that this is now going to be the TSN Talking Point for the game. Glen Suitor might have an orgasm in the booth.

Willy injured at practice
I was at practice today. Saw the injury happen live and was swearing for quite some time. Unamba came in uncontested off the left side on a blitz, Willy went to throw to that side and Unamba jumped up to try and block the ball. Willy hit him on the follow through - personally I couldn't tell if he hit the helmet or he jammed it somewhere in the pads. He was writhing in pain for a couple of minutes on the ground and then got up to have the trainer look at it. At one point the trainer moved it and Willy clearly felt pain again as he pulled away a bit. He was walking around fine and not visibly in pain after about five minutes. Sounds like it isn't too big of a deal now. Hopefully it isn't.

Josh Gordon in the CFL?
Not a chance they allow this.

Jim Bell out as Bombers COO
I liked Jim Bell (as an outsider, never met him) and wish him all the best. Always hate to see someone lose their job. Still, Wade Miller has really helped this organization. He might very well be a jerk (he's very business oriented, which as positives and negatives), but he's the jerk we need right now. This organization has been a complete and utter mess for a long time. We needed someone who has a strong plan, isn't afraid of changing things and most importantly helps the franchise. I was worried when we initially hired Miller just because our history of going 'back to the past' hasn't worked out well and this franchise needed someone who was going to steer the ship, not sit in the life raft. Miller seems to be that person.

Hamilton's Signature Jersey Released
Really like Hamilton's, really LOVE Montreal's. I wish we had gotten a nice one.

Eastern Division (again)
I still don't understand why the thinking that it will even out in the end holds water. Of course in an East vs East game someone wins and as a result an East team will finish with a semi-decent record. What this scheduling has shown us is that that team simply isn't likely very good. So what if Montreal beats Ottawa, Hamilton and Toronto once? Beating bad teams does not automatically make you a good one.

Alex Hall and Linden Gaydosh released by Panthers
Alex Hall is better than Greg Peach, but with that said I'll also note that Peach has been a really, really good lineman this year for us. After seeing him last year I was worried they would keep him only because he 'tries hard' and has a 'high motor.' This year I think he's shown that he's more than just effort.

Rider billboards
I liked the idea for "Green is the new Orange", obviously since it plays off the tv show. "Green is the new Blue" is lazy. It doesn't make sense in that it's not witty or funny. They took a good gag and thought they could re-use it, but it doesn't work as well if it's not linked to Orange Is the New Black. I don't really care either way, but if you're going to have some fun with rivals at least make worth the time of reading the billboard.

Alex Hall and Linden Gaydosh released by Panthers
What is all this talk about Hall not being a great player? Dude was dominant here. I would love to have him back. The whole "not being a run stopper" thing is just a meme that really comes from him being a lean, athletic end. Obviously he's known more for his outstanding pass rush, but I would not classify run-stopping as a weakness for him either. Re: Etch defense. Etch loves versatility and speed. Hall really can only play end here but I think Etch would do wonders with having another dominant pass-rusher with a ton of speed. Would not be surprised to see Hall wind up on occasion dropping into coverage in the flats on designed zone blitzes. Vega-Turner-Thomas/Anderson-Hall? Sign me up.

Toronto at Edmonton
Glen Suitor's favourite word is "handfighting."

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Week 9
Say what you want about Etch and his schemes, but the results this year have been great. There was only two (?) big plays that I can remember - Carter's run and Sutton's - and Sutton's would have been smaller had we wrapped up at any of the many opportunities we had. I think Etch has done outstanding work.

Open it Up
I think playcalling is an easy target. Let me be clear: I have questions about it like everyone else, but I think Bellefeuille has us on the right track. On each play there's 30,000 people in the stands that each have their own idea on what the call should be and then there's everyone else at home too. Some of the success in the second half was a result of better execution by the players.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Week 9
Perhaps you haven't noticed him since he isn't chirping at the refs and taking a penalty.

So I think we know who the better RB is now
Its definitely reasonable to make a judgement on Cotton after four carries today. That or confirmation bias. I'll take the latter.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Week 9
I think the tendency is to think that how you play one week is going to be how you play the next week. Such a small league and any upset is possible really. I don't think we'll win, but I won't eliminate the possibility yet either.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Week 9
Good: This team. Good teams find a way to win tough games, even when a bad opponent is giving you one heck of a challenge. Leggett is freaking phenomenal. Same with Randle. Our whole secondary had a solid game tonight. Its amazing what a good returner on special teams can do. Stoudermire has completely changed that side of the ball. Speed, vision, and ball security so far have all been great. I had said previously that Woods had great ball security but wasn't a great threat while Demond was the opposite. Stoudermire seems like the best of both of them. Bad: Agree on Nick Moore. My concern is that his hands have always been the problem with him. Fumbles, drops...seems kind of what the Nick Moore Experience has always been about. He needed to haul down that high pass from Willy. Offense sputtered for most of the game. This one isn't so much a "bad" for today but our OL is still weak and January and Neufeld got hurt today. January returned but apparently was really limping in the locker room. This line is going to be weak until we can get healthy. Ugly: Those jerseys looked like pajamas. Also the 'W' impacted my viewing more than I thought. Perhaps I just wasn't used to it enough. Tom Higgins. He was awful tonight. Didn't challenge the Randle one which probably would have drawn a cheap flag, and then challenged the one after. You would think someone who worked in officiating would know what to do more frequently. He doesn't seem to have any idea what he wants to do with his team either. Not even sure he's really running the team at this point. Glen Suitor - for being his usual ignorant self and not understanding what is and isn't pass interference. He and Tom Higgins are still scratching their heads about that rule.

Do you wear your Bomber gear to work on game day?
Do you work in a men's bathhouse? No, just a professional nudist.

Do you wear your Bomber gear to work on game day?
Bomber wear would interfere with my suit. Birthday suit, rather.

Scrap divisions?
How much influence does one season have to have though? I think this season has so far shone a light on the debate, but really, I think the argument could be made that in a 9 team league one superdivision just makes it more fair. So regardless of what happens in the crappy East this year, I think this should definitely be looked at.
-
Chances of Bombers signing Sheets?
Sheets is still an Oakland Raider and is being looked at as a primary returner and depth RB. I don't think he'll be back this year.

Our new jersey
Okay. So you think there's no point. And plenty of others do. What's the point in arguing about it? We get your point. I feel like a fan petition to change a jersey but have more viability than a petition to the "aquarium people" to make them build an aquarium in Winnipeg. that aquarium petition had over 100,000 names. This petition might have 100. How i envision you right now: I mean, I am trying to figure out how a petition affects you. Don't want to sign out? Fine. But its like you're actually insulted someone would attempt to petition for something they feel strongly about and are determined to shoot it down.
