Nichols played well. I'm cautiously optimistic about the teams performance as we've seen this many times under MOS. Lets put a couple wins together before we start getting to excited though. Harris played really well tonight, well...he did what he's been doing but his teammates finally showed up for him! And the results came. Nichols, like I said played well. Did a lot of small things right. Looked off rec. sold the hand offs/play action. Even threw the ball away when he had too. Some mental errors like the pass to McDuffie, which I'm going to chalk up to nerves as you could tell in his release he was excited when he saw him come that open lol. And forcing the ball a couple times. The pass he dropped into Adams was a beautiful pass though. And he made a lot of right reads. It's nice to come away with a win. But again, still 2 games below 500 and haven't been able to put together 2 wins together for WAY too long.

How do you know they didn't go after Harris? Can you blame him for signing in Ottawa with a very old QB and that Rec core?

I don't think he was. a few times he told him to "keep it coming" "huge news!" etc etc. Looks like he's been banned now though.

I'm not convinced it isn't just that Road griller posting under another name. He sure seems to pump his tires alot. And seems to be the only guy believing him. Not one person asks where he got his info or even seems to follow up and call him out considering none of what he says has come true.

My point was, you mentioned teams that let young QB's go but still won't multiple championships after the fact. Hence not really regretting letting them go. TO hasn't been winning championships or playoff games since letting Collaros and now Harris/Gale walk. I think that will come back to bite Barker as Ray won't be able to get it done anymore.

THIS! We finally have a legit kicker and 6 games in people want to trade him???? HUH??? He isn't perfect but damn, it's not like he's missing extra points or 26 yard field goals. Trading the guy who has scored the majority of our points isn't going to end well for this team. Unless they can trade him for collaros/harris/reilly or BLM.

Morgan also caused a fumble in the red zone. It wasn't all bad

I don't see how the CFL can do any more to protect qb's beside making them a touch tackle player. I think the only way to better protect them is to start looking at bigger players. Someone who can take a hit. Though I suppose finding those types who aren't playing in the NFL would be difficult. Mobility certainly helps, but you're only one hard cut away from something serious there as well. It is getting tiring watching back up qb's come in weekly.

I'm all for Davis getting some time out there. Hopefully not because of injuries. But I would really like to see what he can do when the bright lights are on.

I've also only met him once, and I had the exact opposite impression. He was very friendly and willing to talk ball basically as long as i was. When I left he shook my hand etc. I can't really say it was anything but positive.

He did load this team with all stars this off season lol.

The one thing I noticed Nichols doing that Willy wasn't. Was looking off his intended receiver. Willy wouldn't look away from where he was going the entire time. Nichols did, not always. But he at least attempted too.

I'd like to see more of Jones rather than going back to Bucknor. And you're comment on Harris makes no sense. Defence keying on Harris, so we take him out? You want the D to key on a player. That "should" (as in Lapo get your **** together and plan for this) open up opportunities for other players.

I think we should go hard after Trestman either as HC or filling both roles. The other Candidates don't do it for me. Murphy is ok...Higgins won't bring the turn around we need. And I don't know enough about the other two to make an argument either way. This is assuming the blue don't have the historic turn around I'm hoping for this season.
