  1. Have to admit Demski was wide open on the sideline when Strev threw that into coverage. But it seems like a comedy of non-play makers on offense.
  2. 4 losses this year. 3 against the east. 2 where we had substantial leads so those ones really stung (obviously). 1 against the Riders where our backup QB hadn't gotten into his groove yet. But all of our losses were away games. We haven't lost a home game yet. We forget momentarily after these kind of losses that we are still a good team. Just for whatever reason we aren't consistently a good team on the road. It becomes paramount that we win the rest of our home games. Not going to be easy but it shouldn't be. We seem to shut it down when it's easy and rise up when it's not. Big win coming up next week
  3. Those are words. No doubt. That's all I have though.
  4. People are arguing that both sides of the ball went conservative. Lapo went conservative. Halls defense just sucked
  5. Yeah but the Als didn't beat us by dink and dunking it like a prevent defense should allow. We were getti g beat for huge gains. Guys left uncovered.
  6. Offense in lapo style clearly shut it down after a big lead. Happens every time. That's not surprising. Our vaunted defense should be able to hold a 20 plus point lead.
  7. The D line shouldn't get any stars this game. Sure they shut the run down but VA had all day back there. Defense as a whole looked like they went out and enjoyed that Montreal nightlife. They weren't even great in the first half, it was just harder for their offense because they didn't have the ball a lot
  8. Streveler doing the Nichols stuff and the Streveler stuff
  9. "mission accomplished" Yep after a return to our side of the field, getting a field goal is the mission
  10. Nothing better than getting a team to use their challenge flag early
  11. Sounds like Bailey is sitting today. I hope Whitehead has a big game
  12. I thought Neufeld still had one more game on the IR? Interesting that Gray is a backup. Also, which American is sitting?
  13. Ah right I remember that. Momentary lapse in concentration. Still, not at all concerned. We've seen how good Drew's hands are
  14. Has Woli even had bad drops? Recently he's had to stretch out for some passes that were not exactly on the money and they've just beyond his grasp. Kind of reminds me of Lawler earlier this year. Woli will be fine
  15. I'm just following the logic of this thread. One poster was clearly going by reception percentage to judge hands and then when you said "That’s true, but that goes for every receiver we’ve had ‘‘tis year, does it not?" In regard to overthrows. It seemed to me you were implying everyone was on equal ground there. So again, following the logic of thr thread I thought you were on the side of using that statistic as a way to determine hands. But if not then I digress. It doesn't matter anyway. Reception percentage as a stat doesn't say enough and that's all I'm trying to get across
  16. The claim was made that you can judge hands by the reception rate. And saying that everyone has had the same number of good passes (not to mention getting hit at the same time among other factors) is definitely not true. There are definitely stats out there that could help this argument but I'm unsure where to get them.
  17. Can't really go by reception rate. That stat is targets is it not? I've seen Lawler overthrown quite a bit
  18. Lawler? He gets routinely praised by the coached for his hands
  19. Well we haven't seen Grant do any receiving. Why do you think Whitehead is a better receiver than Nelson? I see them as fairly close but I like how slippery Nelson is. I'm genuinely curious if you think the speed factor makes that much of a difference. I agree that I'd rather have Bailey though. Not only is he more polished, but he can get 3 extra yards by dragging a defender.
  20. Nelson is a more rosterable player (good receiver and returner) at this point than either Whitehead or Grant. But Grant does the return thing really well and I wouldn't be taking him out now.
  21. I have no idea what to do with our receivers when everyone is healthy. I'm actually not crazy about Whitehead being on the roster as I like Nelson and Grant more.
  22. I heard someone say that Montreal and Saskatchewan are pretty similar teams and I agree. Both have a strong running game. Both have quarterbacks that can extend drives. Both have receivers that can make plays occasionally. Both are more known for their defense. But with all of that, both teams are not that great or consistent and are/were mostly running on hot streaks. They aren't as good as Winnipeg/Calgary/Hamilton imo and fall into the second tier of teams.
  23. A lot easier to do in 1st place
  24. @MTL VS. HAM @SSK VS. MTL @CGY VS. CGY Considering we haven't lost at home in 9 games i'm going to go out on a limb and say we win our remaining ones this year plus one of the away games to finish 13-5. Should be enough for 1st in the West. Go Bombers
