Absolutely agree the last few weeks is the best we've played defensively by far. But if you think we didn't have moments of success early in the season then you're just putting blinders on. Haba gives us a different look that we haven't really been able to use for a while. Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of taking Adams out (actually was one of the first people here to get excited about him) , but I can see why they might want to do it to get Haba in. Could be game planning as well. Having a different look for Rourke who is already going to make a big adjustment in a short amount of time. may be just what they are looking to do.

Haba can play linebacker too and was playing such in 3-4 sets at the beginning of the season. Some of our best defending early in the season was coming from that approach

Wanted to see if Case could break one.. Honestly I see both Smith and Case having the ability. But if it means keeping Lucky on the roster and playing the occasional offensive snap then that gives us a lot more punch to our roster. I'm not a huge fan of Adams being demoted but I could see it coming. Haba provides more versatility and needs to be given the opportunity he was supposed to have at the start of the year.

Need to take an American off the roster as far as I can see. Could be Ayers if they think they have enough on special teams but I don't think that would be a great move. To me it's Woods/Adams or nothing.

@DTonOB reporting Lawler is in for Lucky at practice. Guess that means Josh Johnson is somehow still in the lineup and I'd imagine Wheatfall would be next in line at that spot.

Well we can agree to disagree. In a Grey Cup hosting year, not spending to the cap would be odd to me. I agree they probably wouldn't care about going over the cap up to the loss of a draft pick. But I also don't think you can really plan for that given the nature of the game when it comes to injuries.

Is there something in the CBA about holding the rights of an American player? I thought you had to release them if they signed in the NFL.

But that's not how it works. They don't get a separate QB salary cap. There was no way BC was banking on Rourke coming back this year and keeping the money aside. My best guess is they are paying him peanuts for the rest of this year and are giving a big signing bonus for next year along with a big salary. VA is as good as gone after the season is over.

We've dug ourselves such a hole that our margin for error is pretty thin. Everything is trending toward the Bombers being back in the race. But this next game against BC is going to be vitally important. If we lose this one (I don't expect it - truthfully) things will not look good for us at all. The difference will be being within 1 game of BC with the season series vs. Being back 4 games (because we would no longer have the season series) which would be pretty devastating TBH. That said, even if we mess that up, 3rd in the west would still be attainable. If we want any shot of a home playoff game we need this one.

I'm actually scared for Masoli. The dude is a play away from injury every time he takes a snap. And worse yet was when he fainted on our sideline weeks ago

What is the right call anymore? If PI was the right call on that play then the interception on Demski 2 weeks back was triple PI.

After watching that play a few times I can't see how that was intentional unless he knew what he was doing going over the pile.

A very boring game is going to get a lot worse with this rain.

It's entirely possible that we are going to be right back in the hunt. BC likely without VA Against Hamilton at home. We seem to have trouble with eastern teams sometimes but we're at home. I like our chances Back-to-back against the Riders when they are down trending. I won't pretend like we will win Labour day. That is a tough one. But I think it's better that we are playing our best defensively in that game. And it seems we are. 4 games that are very winnable. Critical games to win the season series against BC and Sask. I'm excited.

D was a revelation. We even got some real QB pressure. Great to see. Saw a lot of really good linebacker play as well including Michael Griffin mucking it up inside the tackle box. Maybe the biggest game from our offensive line today once they got established. Zach was dropping back and felt comfortable in the pocket. Lucky - he's not leaving the lineup. He didn't play the majority of snaps but he made a big impact anyways. For a smaller guy he is exceptional at getting extra yards while a guy is trying to tackle him. You really see his veteran savvy.
