  1. Very possible. He tried sueing the WWE over head trauma about 10 years ago. His wife was also apparently dealing with some serious health issues (dementia and Alzheimer's) so I've seen some speculation that may have played a role in what happened.
  2. Is it really a great trade if it never happened? Walby was on the d-line with Montreal but they released him as a paperwork type of move and we swooped in & signed him.
  3. Not Eli, the big dude we signed recently. https://www.cfl.ca/players/micah-vanterpool/167632/

  5. Sounds like communication was not an issue for Brady. "Talks of a new contract for Oliveira had been on and off for some time, but ramped up in recent days, with negotiations hitting a crescendo late Monday, just days before the official opening of free agency on Feb. 13. While the Bombers worked closely with his agent, Oliveira was also actively talking with the club despite being on a dog rescue mission in Bali, Indonesia." https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/featured/2024/02/06/oliveira-will-do-his-running-at-home
  6. You're reading way too much into that. I said the right price - meaning whatever works for the team. While I would like to see a proven DT like Baron brought in, I doubt it happens as DT is clearly a spot Walters isn't willing to overpay for since we've let one walk year after year (Stove, Sayles & now Walker).
  7. He talked about potentially donating it, during a post-event press conference. He was going to take time to figure it out. Said there are a lot of good options, he just hadn't put too much thought into it yet.
  8. Works both ways but the article doesn't mention anything about his agent trying to contact the club, only that the club hadn't reached out until recently. It does say that he left retirement on the table after the season but at some point had decided to keep playing. Again, no mention of if/when that was communicated to the team. More detail about his efforts to communicate would have been nice.
  9. BC cuts another starter. https://3downnation.com/2024/02/09/b-c-lions-release-starting-safety-quincy-mauger/
  10. Clements is a LB while Baron is a DT so I'm not getting the comparison?
  11. But the tampering window is there so we can't pretend like it's not. Any offers made during the tampering window are binding so looking around at some teams (hello Saskatchewan), they have committed a significant amount already. I'm not saying teams can't or won't continue to sign guys. Just from a players point of view, it doesn't strike me as ideal to be looking for a dance partner after the music has already started.
  12. Would they really want to be released this late in the off-season though? Teams have already been planning out their FA spending and if they've committed their cap space elsewhere, it lessens where the player can sign & for how much.
  13. Wonder if Awe's getting a signing bonus or if they'll just put the money towards all the fines he'll rack up this season? I would like to see Baron here, at the right price.
  14. He knows, he just doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds him, IMO. He has no problem throwing out numbers for other teams but doesn't want to make it seem like the Lions are spending wildly so he keeps that under wraps.
  15. Yup, he signed a new 2 year deal just before Christmas.
  16. Still under contract. Argos will release him when he gets drafted by an NFL team.
  17. He apparently turned down bigger money to stay in Hamilton. 3d says 2 other teams we making offers.
  18. Oh ****! I'm going to have to play and not just collect a cheque? I'm out!
  19. I would be thrilled if he pulled a Durant. Take the signing bonus and go enjoy retirement!
  20. I love Yoshi but man is that ever an over-pay. Good for him though... get that money while you can!
  21. He played for them before us so it's not the first time he's done dirty things for money. 😂 I'm sad to see him go due to his personality and energy. On the field, I think we'll be just fine with Richmond.
  22. I would have to think he plays this year. I get why he didn't come back and play part of last year after NFL shots weren't happening - he felt a shot at a prorated NFL PR salary was worth forgoing half a year of CFL rookie money. A full season might be a bit different though and since he has had no other NFL workouts (afaik), it doesn't seem like he has too many options. He can come play out the last year on his rookie deal, get some more film and see what happens from there.
  23. They can agree to terms but the current team will still have 48 hours at the end of the tampering window to try & get a deal done. No deal is official until FA starts.
