First of all, if Calvillo isn't going to coach in Montreal he's not going to coach anywhere this year. Secondly, he's never been famous for his interest in helping other quarterbacks. He's probably one of the most selfish quarterbacks in the history of the CFL and I'm not sure he really has what it takes to be a positional coach. Smart enough to be a coordinator, but I don't think he fits the "teacher" bill O'Shea is looking for. First reason makes sense. Second reason not sure. I thought I read it somewhere that he helped the 3 youngsters in Montreal re the CFL game.

No they aren't. Etcheverry's major downfall is that his system always comes out looking like gangbusters and then once teams figure out his mad scientist schemes, he's unable to adjust or add wrinkles to keep offenses on their toes. He's got a great defense if you're looking to win the "Before Labour Day Grey Cup" well we have to hire 2 mad scientists then. 1 before the labor day and 1 after.

If Coombs will have a good combine, I wouldn't be surprised if climb within the top 5. Let's wait and see.

Is Coombs an off-the-board selection at #2 overall ? How about pick him at #2 and the Bombers swing a trade for 2nd rounder and pick Goossen?

I remember, Walters said in one of his presser that Bombers will match any offer as long as Henoc/agent will give him the chance. Maybe learning from the Carr FA debacle. the Carr debacle wasn't on management that was on Carr. They had agreed to a deal, but Carr is the one that backed out and didn't give the Bombers a chance to match. agree it's Carr/agent fault, they didn't give Mack & co to match the offer. that's why Walters said they will match as long as Henoc/agent will give them the chance. How'd that whole scenario work out for Carr? well, they were not in the sweepstakes from the beginning. they got BLM who is better than Collaros and 2 vet backups in Tate and McPherson.

Gonna be tough to pull that off without a second round pick. We pick at 2 and then not again until 20. I know. I'd try and pretend that I think Coombs will tumble as a running back but I really don't think he will. He's a special talent. hopefully Walters can get a 2nd rounder (or a late 1st rounder) in trade
