He's going to need it as the stumble-bum paramedics couldn't even lift him into the ambulance properly. I don't know what was harder to watch, the replay of his ankle snapping or the Keystone Kops routine trying to load him into the ambulance. Yeah, that looked amateurish. But I do know paramedics in Calgary are highly trained & professional so I don't know what was up with that. National TV jitters?

I think if we have an injury to our kicker at any point in the regular season,Maher will be on a short dial. That's if he's not with any team by then.

I can't remember any bad snaps from Blake though except that one he snaps to Renaud last game, other than that I believe he done his job quite well.

You can't get by with 6 OL for the season. We need 8 or 10 to cover for injuries... There is still another cutdown. I think it's next by weekend. That's where we going to get our additional backup Nat OLs.

My question is not about being a starter but a backup Nat MLB. Although I dont think we can consider Newman as starter MLB too.

Question for the experts... kinda a stupid question but throwing it out there. Would Dan West (6'2" 201) be a suitable replacement for Newman (6'1" 195), to play MLB (backup) in Etch's D?

I'm guessing Newman being injured for the rest of the year basically guaranteed Maher wasn't going to make the team - we simply don't have space for an Int kicker now I believe so. Although give credit to Lirim too he done well.

Go figure out where are DI's gonna be used. DL - Thomas will likely be the 7th NAT - but with only DE Richardson as the other DL, DT Anderson will be a DI. That makes 6 active DLs on roster... Vega, Turner, Thomas, Peach with Anderson and Richarson as backups. LB - We need a backup MLB on active roster, I don't think Stephan can cut it. Wild is an INT so he will definitely be a DI. He will be essentialy backing up MLB and WIL. KR - Woods I'm assuming, since he also plays on offense. DB - I assume Randle, Washington, Leggett and Suber are the INT starters. Hard to think, either Markett, Suber or B.Johnson will not be in gameday lineup. I like Maher but with our current injuries, I'm not liking his chances to be on the active lineup. I hope they can still keep him somehow. but PR'ing (imo) will not gonna keep him here. He as an additional mouth to fed. ... that unless we somehow trade for a starter/backup NAT DT or an starter NAT OL (RG or C) or a backup NAT LB.

Absolutely. If he has any kind of game left and can play ST he'd be an upgrade over Volny. With Brooks out I think Volny is safe. Adding Messam will certainly save us using a DI for a backup import RB.

I think we should make a run for Messam. at this point, Messam and Woloshyn will be a decent pickups.

With that statement, im bothered now what the future holds for Anderson.
