  1. Barely managing to sell out with only 3,000 seats more than permanent capacity, plus having to subtract 5,000 seats from the original expansion plan and Nissan having to buy 2,000 seats, is nothing to be proud of.BC didn't sell out last year, but at least there were over 50,000 people in attendance, with just under 48,000 paid. Blah Blah Blah What's your life like? I just cant imagine being so negative all the time. It must be hard on you and your family. Wow was that ever a ignorant comment. Pretty bush of you BFFC The real ignorance is Project Legacy cutting down Winnipeg for having 12000 less fans at the GC than BC, considering the population difference. Not just ignorant but plain stupid.
  2. I didn't see anything bad or embarrassing about the Winnipeg Grey Cup. If the biggest complaint is that it didn't sell out fast enough, you're probably just looking for reasons to complain. It was a huge success.
  3. We all know how this will end. Might as well start the renaming contest now. I suggest Esquires so we can still call them the Esks. I don't know what the hell an Esquire is though.
  4. Although you are part of the largest group of CFL fans, I imagine the CFL desperately wants to change that and thus does not care whether these changes appeal to you. No offense. You crusty old coot.
  5. It really is that bad. 3 guys who are struggling in the AHL in Olsen, Armia and Morrissey get forced into the lineup. Ehlers is on the top line based on what, I'm not sure. Burmi is the third line center so forget about that line scoring. Our #1 center has been pushed out to the wing in favor of a guy with two good seasons on his resume. It's a total joke. I don't understand the fan obsession with forcing prospects into the lineup. We should be making it as hard as possible for rookies to break in, not gifting spots to guys with 7 career AHL points.
  6. You left out Toby, Stu, Petan and Peluso. if they added a 1st, I would do it in a heartbeat.Trade Myers and (Olsen or Lipon or De Leo or Lemieux) for Hamonic and we'd be in a lot better shape. Trade that first and our first for a LHD. Ehlers Johansen Little Perrault Scheif Wheeler Lowry Burmi Staf Olsen Copp Armia? Pardy Buff Trade Hamonic Morrissey Trouba That lineup wouldn't win 25 games.
  7. I like that tag team that came out and beat in Dash and Dawson after their match. The one guy looks like Kevin Nash. Was it Enzo Amore and Big Cass? Those guys are moneyCertified G Bona-fide Stud. Enzo is awesome. Yeah that sounds right.
  8. Yes, we absolutely need to show Hutch that there is no faith in him whatsoever. Call Comrie and tell him to get ready for when Helle doesn't have a great night, too. Let's see if we can burnout all our goalie prospects while Pav is injured. Helle is way too talented to throw to the wolves like that. Let Hutch keep getting lit up if necessary. You said it yourself, this team doesn't have a sniff at the playoffs, so why expose Hellebuyck to that? Let Hutch be the sacrificial lamb because throwing Hellebuyck in now will just crush his confidence. The team isn't playing well in front of the goalie, that's the main problem here.
  9. I love Buff but his contract status is such that his value is greatly reduced on the market. Also I can't imagine the Isles moving a guy like Strome. They are trying to build something there long term, doubtful they part with a long term asset of any kind for rentals in return.
  10. Im very curious what you wrote here! Was it about TNA or the heel/face/interesting story discussion? Lol! No, it was nothing of any substance, just an ******* remark.
  11. I like that tag team that came out and beat in Dash and Dawson after their match. The one guy looks like Kevin Nash.
  12. The problems begin and end with gifting spots to rookies. Afraid to sign Frolik because we might not be able to afford our RFAs (for some reason), assuming Copp would be better than Slater, Burmi would be better than Stempniak. I'm of the opinion that a team should never intentionally take a step back unless forced to by the cap like Chicago or LA after winning the Cup. We cheaped out and we see the results now.
  13. Yeah let's get rid of Buff and Ladd and promote who? Chiarot and Armia? Omg I can't wait, we will win SO MANY games.
  14. He favors vets over rookies... As does every other coach in the NHL. You suggest swapping Stafford and Ladd? What exactly has Stafford done so well to deserve first line minutes? Other than not complaining about being saddled with dead weight on the third line.
  15. Lol. Same old story with you. The young guys aren't playing well because of Maurice, the veterans, etc. Anything to avoid placing the blame on the actual players themselves.
  16. You don't have to make them happy, but you should at least aspire to do enough that they're interesting in watching.I'd argue that there is no one in the WWE right now that could accomplish that. At least people hate Sheamus and want to see him lose the belt. Can you say that about Owens? He is way too likeable as a heel.EC3 nails it here: http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/646271-ec3-explains-why-hes-a-successful-heel-in-tna-and-why-heels-nowadays-arent-getting-the-heat-they-should
  17. Now I see where you're coming from. I imagine talks had been ongoing for quite some time but tough for us to know exactly what happened.
  18. Thats a good point. I dont want to be critical of Chevy because I think he's done a generally good job. But he seems to let things drag out and perhaps the feeling from management is "the players are millionaire professionals and they can self-motivate and they can handle their jobs" but the reality is, they are still human. There isnt a single person alive who thinks its a good idea for Ladd's contract situation to drag on. And while you cant rush a trade like Hamonic, it could certainly hang over player's heads. I believe it was Wheeler who commented about contract talks dragging that as a player you want to know you're wanted and that your contribution is appreciated. Chevy made a blockbuster deal in, what, a week? Because he had to. And yeah because he had a willing partner. But man...letting this drag on. Maybe it's ownership's vision...that its perfectly fine for players to walk if they wont accept our terms and we replace them with others. But that HAS to have an impact on your players. What is Chevy's end game here? Hasnt even talked to Buff's agents. Doesnt even have an idea what Buff wants. If you've made the decision to part ways, then part ways already. How do you figure he made that deal in a week? He wanted to trade Kane for more than 2 years.
  19. @sweep What about them is very good? Not offensively. Neither is a particularly good penalty killer. Lowry can be physical but too often gets caught floating and is not a very good skater. Individually, they could play roles on a veteran line but together they just aren't good enough. Slater, Thorburn, and Stempniak were miles ahead as a 4th line.
  20. Scheifele plays in the Jets top 6 but I'd be hard pressed to come up with 5 other teams where he would do the same.
  21. The team went too young, too fast. It really is that simple. Blowing it up will make the team worse in the short term, and who knows in the long term. Our drafted players have not been good. We've yet to develop a top 6 forward or top 4 d-man in 5 years so remember that when you talk about blowing up the team... it means 5 more years of a bad team before we even have a hope of being good again. And no I don't believe Scheifele is top 6 quality nor is Trouba top 4. Lowry, Copp and Burmi should not be in the NHL.
  22. Laddy back on the board. Hope he can parlay that into a bit of a hot streak.
  23. Owens. Yes I'm sure all the Roman Reigns and Ambrose fans would be thrilled with Owens getting the belt. No one at all would complain about that..... (Sarcasm)
  24. Yep tough to argue with any of that. The storylines have been boring or nonexistent. Where are the heel and face turns? Where are the dirty finishes in meaningful matches? Where are the angles with wrestlers as guest referees? To take a quote from Vince McMahon on the Stone Cold podcast, its just "wrestling for the sake of wrestling." That's fine for house shows but there's gotta be some continuity on TV to keep people coming back. One thing I hate is the six man tag team matches between seemingly random wrestlers with absolutely no drama or backstory leading up to them. What's the point? Why should I care? Not sure how to fix it, it will take an incredibly creative mind to get the WWE out of this funk.
