  1. Rugged is fine but Stuart is a liability.Kichton will not play many (if any) games for the Jets. Eberle and RNH both make 6m a year and their cap hit is 6m a year. Leave Morrissey with the Moose until he is ready....rushing him isn't doing anyone any good. I'd rather see them sign Buff and trade Myers and Ladd but I don't think that will happen. Your comments on Stuart are silly. He is a third pairing d-man. What exactly are you expecting from him? Third pairing guys across the league get burned on a nightly basis.
  2. They can make any law they want. But no law = invalid ticket = refund money. Sure but common sense dictates that if the city says don't park on the street between 7 and 7 then you shouldn't park there and you deserve to be punished for your stupidity. Unfortunately the city's stupidity overrides that in this case.
  3. Maybe Breckenridge or Anthony Allen. Kyle Norris is a good Canadian special teamer but not sure we need that. Didn't mind Derek Walker as an import DT but again not sure we need.
  4. They should refund and then repeal the stupid law so the streets can get plowed. Next thing you know we'll have Joe Blow refusing to move his car before 11 pm because there are no signs.
  5. If you've ever lived on a street where your only parking option was on the street, you might think differently. I agree about moving and I think the city does a better job with the snow zones as opposed to it being a guessing game. But they illegally ticketed. Its an extension of their arrogance with ticketing altogether. Their excuse is "we didnt know. Our bad. No refunds though". So if I speed or park in the wrong place can I say sorry, I didnt know. Not gonna pay. I lived in that situation for many years. I figured it out. And you're oversimplifying. The city asked people to move between 7 and 7... If you didn't move, you should be ticketed. The "signage between 11 and 6" law is the stupid part and all this is is people trying to get out of paying on a technicality. How many of the people parked between 7 and 7 did so because they knew of the signage between 11 and 6 law? Probably almost zero. The reason is laziness and they should be ticketed.
  6. Yeah our lack of receiving prospects really is inexcusable. Toronto found what, 3 stud receivers in one offseason? Tough to run an offence when you can't adequately replace an injured starter for a week. Veltung was okay but nowhere near dominant and he's the best we've found.
  7. Or people can just move their damn cars when the city is plowing. #BadNeighbours
  8. Well at least they recognize they need t shake things up. Roman is a better champ than Sheamus and having Roman vs. the McMahons/League of Nations, Dean vs Kevin Owens, and the Charlotte storyline, I'm actually pretty interested to see where this goes. Can't wait for the Rumble!!
  9. I can't remember the last time I saw the world championship change hands on RAW
  10. Reigns wins the title on RAW. Wow. Even those Philly fans who booed him so hard at the Royal Rumble were cheering. The 3 hour run time really kills the momentum on RAW but it was a good start and a great finish tonight. Loved seeing Mr McMahon out there.
  11. Yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Roman Reigns but I still think his fanbase is growing.
  12. "The Roman push isn't working" I would normally agree with that but I think that last night's events will help. Notice throughout the match everyone was cheering for NXT, We Want Cena, etc.. But then after the match were cheering Roman hard. This was Roman's best moment thus far.
  13. Tag titles match and Roman rampage were good. Liked seeing Dean win the IC.Also like the direction Charlotte is going. The opener. Ah yes. Lynch vs Banks was on the kickoff so I got confused. That was a good one too though.
  14. Tag titles match and Roman rampage were good. Liked seeing Dean win the IC.Also like the direction Charlotte is going.
  15. Maybe he should change it to "Atomic Heel". That wouldn't make any sense Logan.
  16. I can't this douchebag .. I've never seen anything positive come from him. It's one thing to be critical when it's deserved .. but finding negativity in EVERY little thing the organization does it just too much. It's like someone in the organization kicked his dog, slept with his wife .. pissed in his cornflakes all in the same day. It's relevant because Knox was suspended for PEDs in the NFL. So as long as I can find one thing you've done wrong in your life I should crap on you forever? You'll never find anything
  17. Lol Mike you ass!
  18. It would be impressive, although a bit of a stretch. What happens if Chris Jones bolts for the good ole south? Lots to keep our eyes on. Not that much of a stretch, really. Redblacks went from 2-16 to 12-6 and a Grey Cup appearance. Doesn't always have to be a ten-year plan like the Bombers.
  19. There was an interesting article (don't know if anyone has linked it here) that talked about the need to implement an "administrative cap" .. thought it was on point. I'll see if I can dig it up .. edit: here it is - http://3downnation.com/2015/12/08/its-time-again-for-a-cfl-spending-cap-it-saved-the-riders-once/ This reminds me of the days when Edmonton could 'buy' their way into the Grey Cup. The Bombers had some good teams back then, but not the same purse strings. Result? 5 Grey Cups in a row for Edmonton.Another result? The SMS. Saskatchewan probably threw a few TD passes with these hires, and everybody is stunned...and jealous. But could any other team have afforded these moves? I highly doubt it. Good or bad, it's moving forward... From 1973 the Eskimos went to the Grey Cup in nine out of ten years. Over half of that time playing out of Clarke Stadium. They then moved into the CFL's third largest stadium (Commonwealth) that had approximately 42,300 seats, with about 39,500 being sideline seats. The 70's were a good time to build a team as there was no free agency. If you found good players you basically got to keep them. If other teams, notably the BC Lions, were not good at evaluating talent you could pick up their castoffs (i.e. Tom Wilkinson, Bob Howes) or make trades for guys like Larry Highbaugh. 1972 was a great year for the Eskimos to pick up cast-offs since being the worst team in 1971 meant they got first crack at cuts. I also recall the Eskimos had a scout, Frankie Morris, evaluating Canadian talent. His wikipedia page states that he was a member of seven Grey Cup teams as a part of management (for people outside Edmonton, that means Grey Cup winning teams). He died in 2009 at 85 so it is fairly likely he wasn't involved with the Eskimos for the '05, '03 and '93 Cups. Safe to say 1975 was his first Grey Cup as a scout. Winnipeg stadium was as big as Clarke Stadium. I'm not sure other teams were scouting like the Eskimos back then. He was scouting before the Eskimos could possibly have any advantage over the other teams. When the Eskimos wanted Tommy Scott from the Bombers they couldn't wait until the end of the year for him to be a free agent and outbid the Bombers. They had to trade for him. How did that trade work out for the Bombers? I would say pretty well. Can you name any players the Eskimos got from other teams because that other team couldn't afford them? What can you point to to say the Eskimos bought that team? When did the SMS start? I've seen people say they bought Grey Cups but no one every seems to provide evidence. Your opinion doesn't surprise me because it is a common conscience clearing opinion most Eskimo fans have. There was no cap so they were free to spend as much as they wanted. They were destroying the league to a point where we almost didn't have one. The eskimoes are in unchartered waters this year however, as their roster will get raided at free agency. Back in the good old days before the pesky salary cap the esks could win year after year and not lose a single player because they could continue to pay them more than anyone else could. Now that the sms is in place, teams that win the cup commonly have a moderate turnover of their roster because free agents want more money to stay. That's why its harder to string cup wins together and sustain success in the modern CFL. Calgary being the benchmark recently for sustained success has relied heavily on great scouting to keep things going. I also think that is why the Edmonton media is sour about the Jones situation, they thought the glory years were back. Don't need any conscience clearing as you are not providing any proof that the Eskimos 'bought' their Grey Cups (I'm assuming the ones from 1978 to 1982). There was no free agency at the time so players were not able to shop themselves and go to the highest paying team. Take a look at the Eskimos' rosters of those years and tell me what stars they got from other teams? What time period would it be considered that the Eskimos were buying their way to success? Like that's such a bad thing anyways... love to see the Bombers buy some success
  20. Like if you agree.
  21. I would agree with your comments that they don't present it as real. What I meant by not appealing to smarks is that smarks tend to care more about the in ring work than anything else. Cesaro is a perfect example. Great in the ring but can you imagine that guy as the face of WWE? Absolutely no mass appeal like the rock or stone cold or John cena. He's just a lame old bald guy who is lame on the mic. Spectacular in the ring and the smarks would put the belt on him but I wouldn't and Vince won't either because he has no mass appeal potential.
  22. It's not a stretch to say that one wouldn't affect the other, now would it? Wouldn't affect play design as much as the order of the reads and the decisions of the QB pre-snap. That was Marcel's MO though, he'd put together some absolutely fantastic games but he just couldn't do it with any consistency, he is the good hank, bad hank of OC's. This. Game planning from week to week was so hit and miss .. just wildly so. He criminally under utilized Marshall last season in favour of guys like Walker .. it was hard to watch. To be fair, Marshall did have the fifth most touches in the league by an RB.
  23. A good relationship but they still have to be concerned about the Colts far more than the Jets.
  24. What do you mean "what"? Trades aren't exactly rare in juniors, especially guys in their final year.
  25. The problem is the fans don't know what they want. And I mean that in terms of fans in general, not just wrestling fans. Fans may be very vocal about what they want but it doesn't always make sense, and if you give it to them, they may find that it's not as great an idea as they thought. Fan polls.... Not a good way to fix the biz. Catering to the whims of the smarks will kill WWE, not save it.
