People liked the ho-train and the character and everything that went along with it. Keep in mind the main audience at the time was adolescent boys. Either way, he was a huge part of the attitude era and absolutely HoF-worthy. If you had to pick five wrestlers who defined that era, he would be one of them.

Best I could find was this: Not sure how reliable it is but seems reasonable for 2003.

How so? Lankford came into the starting lineup when Dressler got injured. Denmark was already in the lineup.
-
He also had a short stint as Kama Mustafa in the Nation of Domination. But you're right. Godfather is one of the most iconic figures of the Attitude Era. The ho-train. Pimpin ain't easy. Yeah you're never going to see that again, lol.

Demon King gimmick is pretty cool

Pfff not even 70 million

I've been reading estimates in the 40-100 billion range. Some of the pictures and videos are just jaw-dropping. A town gone underwater.

Yet none of these were as good as his original character - Isaac Yankem, DDS.

Papa Shango was one of my favourites when I was a kid. I used him all the time in WWF Royal Rumble for Sega Genesis

What an absolute gong show in Hamilton -
It is very much like Cena vs the Rock when the Rock came back. But Roman Reigns ain't Cena, and Cena ain't the Rock.

Ziggler showed up on Smackdown last week but didn't wrestle. Apparently tonight he will actually wrestle. But during his backstage promo he pretty much seemed like the same guy he's always been. I don't think there is any real formula for getting the fans on your side, aside from actually improving at your craft. In some cases the absence can help. Seth Rollins was really hot when he came back from his knee injury. On the other hand you have guys like Y2J and The Miz who had grown stale but were able to gain fans by doing a great job on the mic. The New Day, if you'll recall, went from hated faces, to hated heels, to loved heels, to loved faces. I don't think the fans will ever buy into Roman's "cool guy" act. Something has to drastically change there or it will never work.

Yes. If someone is actively campaigning to raise funds or awareness for something that they were an offender in, they deserve a second chance. Or if they have served time in prison and paid their debt to society. But Briles hasn't done those things, at least not to my knowledge (nor has Tillman). And the case at Baylor is still so recent. Totally agree. However, even if they weren't aware, once they have read the facts and understand who this guy is and what he did, I believe the outrage is justified. -

Yeah. I'm not trying to excuse Briles, I'm just wondering why the standard is there for him and not Tillman, as you allude to. It's almost like the league only reacted because of the negativity south of the border, which obviously isn't there in the case of a guy like Tillman who is relatively unknown in the States. -

True. One man committed sexual assault, the other did not. -

To be fair who hasn't done this? -
It's interesting that they're going this direction. Honestly I think it will be good for Roman. It shows that WWE knows how the fans feel about him. It might be cathartic to have Roman up against Cena, who many of the fans have had similar complaints about. But the issue is that Cena is still so much better than Roman both in the ring and on the mic, and it's obvious.

I was watching. It was weird but entertaining. The death of kayfabe. Cena roasting Reigns for having shitty promos, Cena saying Roman Reigns has been protected from day one and that he is a corporate-created Cena-wannabe. Cena even made reference to the crowd wanting him to do a heel turn. First time I've heard words like promo and heel-turn used on WWE TV. The announcers even seemed stunned. Jerry Lawler was like "I've never heard that... Cena call it a promo... I mean that's what it is, but wow." Was Vince McMahon on holidays? I don't see how he approved this. Roman said Cena buries all young talent, Cena came back saying that he doesn't decide who is a star, the crowd does. At one point Reigns seemed to forget his lines and Cena cut him down... "Come on Roman, it's called a promo, if you wanna be the big dog, you better learn how to do one." Another great line - "Yeah maybe I am a part-timer. But you should be ashamed that I can be a part-timer and still come out here and do it better than a full-timer like you!"

So Hamilton is 'blocked' from hiring the guy who turned a blind eye to sexual assault but the guy on their payroll who actually committed sexual assault is OK? Weird. -
There was some debate about selective abortions in this thread earlier and the issue has been in the news again over the last couple days with Iceland "eradicating" Down Syndrome, i.e. aborting all fetuses who show signs of the condition. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/down-syndrome-iceland/ What are everyone's thoughts on this, and to relate it back to this thread, should this kind of thing be allowed in Canada?

Kinda makes me think of the infamous Acolytes vs Public Enemy match on Sunday night Heat. But obviously far worse.

That's ****** up! Why would she do that???
