  1. the whole "weak arm" thing is patently absurd, and gets debated in these spaces all the time by people who clearly don't know what they're talking about. Scouts are never going to bring a guy to a TC (never mind the coaches actually putting them on the team...) if his arm is too weak to play pro football. Hell, if you made it through a NCAA program, then you've got enough of an arm.
  2. Well, it's not like we have to bring someone in just for the sake of bringing someone in. If you find the right guy, then by all means go get him. But don't bring in a guy like Porter, just 'cause you think you have to bring in any warm body. I'm fine running with what we have unless you find the exact guy you're looking for.
  3. Even if we don't get the W this week, here's hoping Hall shows continued progress, and does enough to earn continued starts. At this point, it's all we can really ask for. Wins are a bonus.
  4. There's more to the future than Wins right now. Development might take awhile, but if losses now means more wins down the road, then so be it. Now, I'm not as harshly against Buck as some around here, but I'm willing to commit to one of the young'ns if the coaching staff believes there's a real future there. #WhateverItTakes
  5. Our 2nd half adjustments have been atrocious all season, on the offensive side of the ball, so it'll be real interesting to see if we're actually able to get some momentum in the 2nd half...
  6. back in Kelowna now.... I was absolutely liquored. Stone cold sober, over here......cough.
  7. Excited to see Max Hall's 2nd start...git 'er dun, son...
  8. Bob Irving ‏@BobIrvingCJOB2m Looks like max hall is going to get the start vs hamilton ahead of buck pierce I'm a fan. Hall showed me enough to warrant another start, I feel...
  9. Indeed this...very torn, but I really feel like this right now...
  10. ...And I won't even complain when he trades draft picks for a Quarterback. Hey, it worked out pretty good when he first came here...
  11. And I agree with 'em. It's the right thing to do for now. Lord knows that, like most of you, I've never been a big fan of MB, but at this point it's nice (reassuring?) to have someone with experience in the league. A little too much with the NFL minds trying to convert their way of thinking to the CFL game, instead of just doing things the CFL way right from the outset.
  12. **** Jeremy O'Day...I'm PRAYING he stays in Sask, so Taman pops loose. That's the best case scenario, I think...
  13. At this point, I just wanna see this team win some games. I'm willing to let MB decide who he thinks gives us that chance. If he feels like we need Buck to start, and that he can develop a back-up with his new practice system, then so be it. At this point, I'm going to put my trust in the experienced CFL OC...
  14. as much of a write off as this season has been overall, poor Chris Matthews has been cursed from jump street...
  15. Once again, I don't doubt Asper's business acumen or that he's a nice person. I don't want an irrational fanboi meddling in day-to-day WBB affairs, simple as that.
  16. I do have his phone number... Closing time at the Pal?
  17. This post makes my head hurt on several different levels. "Goltz and Hall have not did enough..." <3
  18. The **** I do during the 15 minutes post-game...........Christ almighty.......
  19. I remember being ****-scared during that time. I have no doubts that Mr. Asper (as with most of you here) is a very nice person, but as with all overly-passionate lunatic fanbois (and fangirls...) you don't want them in a position of power like this, where rash, knee-jerk decisions can get you in a LOT of trouble.
  20. My issue with Asper goes back to when he was head of our BOG and ran on to the field that one time, screaming at the coach. (Was that during Daley's time?) Asper is way too much of a fanboi, and anybody that's spent enough time around here knows that you don't want ANY of us in a position of power with the team, because we're all lunatics. Asper is a lunatic fanboi in a position of power. That's terrifying. Now, having said that, I don't believe (necessarily) that he's "Running the team" with Gene Dunn. That seems like a lot of speculation and conjecture from people who don't have access to the inside, so they're just making **** up.
  21. Really interesting presser. Offensive staff will have a meeting and give their recommendation on QB to Burke, who will have the final decision by game time, tho Burke said they'll likely know tomorrow as whoever gets 1st team reps will likely start. Sounds like MB really didn't think much of Crow's offense. Said it was an American -style that just doesn't fit the Canadian game. They tried to re-shape an American offense for Canada, but it just doesn't work that way. CFL is such a unique game, and requires a unique mindset. Will be really interesting to see what MB can do just by switching the play calling a bit...
  22. He changes when it's convenient for him. If the Stamps are doing well, he's "rah rah Stamps!" and if the Bombers are playing well, then he cheers for them. Whatever's convenient. His Stamps fandom shines through when he's shitting on the Bombers all the time. *cue* "Harumph! Harumph!! I was a season ticket holder in 19-dickety-6!! Cal Murphy! Bud Grant! Maaaaaatloooooooooock!!!!!!!"
