  1. Been a bloodbath at major market radio/TV today. Tough one for a lot in Toronto and Vancouver, among other markets. Likely more to come soon....
  2. Curious question that I'm not sure needed it's own thread, but: What do people feel is the Bombers most pressing need this off-season (aside from an OC, obviously...player personnel only)?? Do we need to retool the OL, or were schemes the problem that got Willy killed again? Do we need better receivers, or again, is it the offense? Another DE opposite Westerman and an upgrade at DT? What's the #1 thing to look for in both recruiting and FA this offseason.....?
  3. Moore, Denmark and Matthews on the starting core, with Dough Alert and Gudino.....Adams as depth or in some situations where you run 4 IMP REC......unless they can somehow recruit a young quality receiver outta the states....
  4. Moore is absolutely our best receiver and there's no reason we couldn't have both. You push Darvin Adams back to depth player, which is where he should be.
  5. So I finally watched Goldfinger on the weekend. It was neat to see, but man old movies are just so awful. And the action sequences comical.
  6. Curious how much gas is in the tank for Harris. He hasn't looked particularly great the last couple seasons, but not sure if that's him or the Lions...
  7. Ottawa beat guy also reporting on it, saying the RBs nearly had him signed a couple years ago.....so *if* he came back to Canada, certainly wouldn't only be Bombers in on him.
  8. ...and as the "Weed Sherpa" on Entourage........
  9. that looks pretty awesome...
  10. Always enjoyed gbills contributions and hope he comes back soon. This forum should be working to attract posters, not drive them away. Maybe we could hold a GBill Appreciation Week and name him forum poster of the century. Might not be enough, but it would be a start This....ugh. Such an attention *****. Back to the Matthews thing....how old is he and how much tread left on tires?
  11. Only if he is a leader that the players will look up to and follow, and is a communicator and teacher. I'm sure Buck, Glenn, Allen, Flutie etc. have the knowledge to be an OC, but if you can't communicate what you want done, and be able to change it mid game if necessary you won't be successful. So by all of this, Khari should be the greatest OC of all time......? *waits for Dave response*
  12. I think the recent season, combined with the Jets losing 6 straight, has people overly stressed. Let's enjoy the GC festivities next week and hopefully some good news re: staffing, player re-signings, etc.... before Christmas.
  13. I thought that was Beauregard from CBC? Ooooo...now that you mention it........that could be. Hmmmm...got my little men mixed up.....
  14. The longer I'm away, the more I'm reminded how much I love it, and how much I need to defend it. The funny thing is, I've never lived in Winnipeg, and as a Rural Manitoban, I'm not always a fan of it, but living in AB, I find myself defending Winnipeg all the time. But yeah, absolutely, the longer I'm away, the more I realize I'm #Manitoban4Life. Just a matter of time before I find a job to get me home full time. Rural MB is the best kept secret in Canada - I like it that way Amen to that, brother. I can't believe what a rush I was to leave, and now there's no place I'd rather be...
  15. hey just helpful suggestions.....
  16. My everlasting memory of Pascucci is him getting into it with Milt in the locker room and trying to compare his "junior hockey" background to Milt's football background...
  17. I like Manibertans! Not too shabby.....the girlfriend, while born and raised Calgary, is actually full-blood Manitoban. Parents are from Sandy Lake and Brandon, and all family from there. So our house, in terms of decor, is basically a shrine to The Bison. Bombers, Jets stuff everywhere, and plenty of pictures of "back home".... Definitely Manibertans.... No Wheat Kings merch? :o :o I have one hoodie, and need more stuff!! The greatest shame is the lack of Goldeyes stuff! Need both Wheaties and Goldeyes merch in here....that's a project, for sure!
  18. Let's maybe bump this over to Hockey Forum, eh....?
  19. Sweet -- thanks -- we'll definitely make a run. Have had success at the LC along Regent (across from KP mall) in the past....
  20. I've gotten into some stouts, but I just can't enjoy them most of the time. That Phillips sampler has good variety, but I keep just falling back to the IPAs anyways. I'm biased. Dave will try and sway you toward the ESBs....I'm a big fan of Red's. There's a new one from Village Brewery called "The Huntsman" that I really enjoy. Earthy....ton of flavour. I'm a fan.... I've had a few ESBs and I liked them. I even enjoyed one so much (the Super Cooper 14 Year Special that Phillips did) that I bought another one. Some good reds out there too. Just not a lot of options at my local LC, they're big on the IPA train right now. We'll be getting in late next Weds night for GC Week, and one thing I'm really stoked for is wandering the LC to see what kinda options they have while we're home. Curious how the selection compares to some of the "private" stores we have here, in terms of craft beer... What part of town are you staying in? There are a few specific LCs I would recommend. At a buddy's place right smack dab between the Stadium and Barley Bros, on Pembina......but we'll be all over attending events. Spending time in T-Cones, as well, to visit the family.....
  21. Both Pascucci and Dave Naylor get the nod this year, and both are huge CFL fans. Nice to see that passion being rewarded.
