I always hate when people say Fuhr was overrated because of the scoring in front of him....that guy might have done more with the least defense than anyone. Their D pinched so much, he was constantly facing odd-man situations...only way you could get away with cheating that much offensively was to have a superstar 'tender back there to bail you out...

Former university football star Ashton Dickson fatally shot in Ottawa OTTAWA - A Nova Scotia university says a former star running back with the Antigonish school's football team has been killed in a shooting in Ottawa. St. Francis Xavier's athletics department tweeted condolences on Monday to Ashton Dickson's family and friends. Ottawa police say Dickson, 25, died at the scene of a shooting early Monday. Investigators say officers were called to Rideau Street around 1 a.m. to investigate reports of a shooting. They say patrol officers found Dickson injured at the scene. Dickson, an Ottawa native, was nominated for the Hec Crighton Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding player in Canadian university football, in 2015. (The Canadian Press)

I have been a rabid Grant Fuhr fan my whole life. I wore 31 through a lot of minor hockey. Read his "Grant Fuhr On Goaltending" book on the ride to away games and tournaments all the time. When he was suspended for drugs, I was 10 years old and INCREDIBLY upset....I remember tearing his poster off the wall. Now, as an adult, having read everything that went on with that team, I have a much better understanding. The entire TEAM were "partiers" and were just bonkers around the city. Fuhr just happened to be the guy that got busted, but it really could have been any of them. Even Gretz. It was the 80s...they were rock stars in a small market.....of course they were doing blow!

well, I learned my lesson about over-thinking things last week..........count me in for Andrew Harris.

My understanding is that the biggest issue with Vesalainen is "attitude" related. There were some questions about the interviews he gave during meetings with various NHL teams. Likely a "unique" personality, but the talent will hopefully trump that...

I snorted right out loud....was a good line. As for the game, reffing/replay aside, it was at least exciting. Two teams I absolutely despise, but I enjoyed watching it purely for entertaining CFL football.

It'll be a big number for McDavid, but the kid is smart and knows that they need to be able to pay for a team around him. Was just talking to 17to85 about this and saying the likely end number is around 11m/year...

Except it's not fair to say "under performing goalies".....the entire team is playing shitty D and giving up way too many high quality scoring opportunities. If the entire team cinches things up, those goalies start looking a LOT better...
