  1. Further info from the league website just in case anyone forgot... The 2024 CFL Draft will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 8:00 p.m. EDT and feature 74 selections over eight rounds. The Edmonton Elks currently hold the first overall selection, followed by the Ottawa Redblacks and Saskatchewan Roughriders. The CFL’s Global Draft will take place earlier that same day at 11:00 a.m. EDT. Rookie camps across the country will open on May 8 with teams being required to reduce their rosters to 85 players (excluding non-counters) by May 11. Training camps will open on May 12 with teams needing to reduce their rosters to 75 players (excluding non-counters) by May 14. Training camps will conclude on June 1.
  2. Early May.... First pre season games happen next month. We're like... 3 weeks away from camp...??
  3. SLC really isn't that much of a move. Just a little bit north, but still the same general area. Still shitty desert hockey.... Just with more wives allowed.
  4. he's not leaving Winnipeg any time soon.... and you have to live in or around Toronto to have that gig, I think.
  5. This. Needs to be someone in their mid 40s with some football and business experience.
  6. Decided by 3 man sack races on non consecutive Sundays.....
  7. I mean.... There's no chance Dallas loses out..... Right?
  8. Really feel like the team from earlier in the season.... The team that didn't let more than 2g/game.... Is returning to form. If THAT team is in the playoffs, they're a tough out.
  9. Is Laurent Brossoit the best Canadian goalie in the league right now? I mean it's a low bar, but still.....
  10. If it's true that the commish is dismissive of this and not taking it seriously, then I might just be joining the bandwagon calling for his head. That's inexcusable and good on the women who quit over it.
  11. record for a CFL club (likely) according to Naylor..... hey Gappers: Eat ****.
  12. the Baseketball scene where they reference all the teams moving is so great....
  13. interesting... Dave's been working for a station out of Saskatoon... I have some buddies working there. AM Country station, primarily, with a particular focus on news and sports. Dunk, I thought, was based in Ontario. Not sure if he's moving to The Gap, or just going to fly to various games or what... but it's a young duo that's clearly very passionate about the CFL... so that's a good thing. It's going to likely be a much more professional broadcast going forward, at the very worst.
  14. if I remember right, the Bombers have signed a LOT of potential KR/PR candidates this off-season for a camp competition...
  15. That's exactly it. Tkachuk had a phenomenal game and I get why the situation pissed him off but it's a comical overreaction ESPECIALLY given the previous incident.
  16. I get it because it's after the whistle and that's viewed as disrespectful, but Tkachuk is (shockingly) wildly overreacting.
  17. Re: Farley, there's a great series of docs on HBO/Crave called "I Am ______" (Farley, Walker, Swayze, Ledger...) and the Farley one is just fantastic.
  18. Also the reaction isn't quite as big from Sandler (Carvey actually seems the most surprised by it) but I do remember them talking about this sketch and how Farley was supposed to be a nothing part in it, but he just decided on his own to take it up 5 notches to try and break the other cast. Unbelievably funny.
  19. I can always count on you, bro! I remember seeing a clip of Sandler talking about this in recent years. Farley truly was one of the VERY best....
  20. If you're somehow new to that podcast (and I'm not sure how that's possible...) they are very well done. Some better than others but they're all good. The Doug Brown one in season one is fantastic. The first Andrew Harris one is really good. Any of the Paddy Neufeld ones...
  21. There's a famous story among true SNL nerds about this sketch where Farley was just like an extra person in it. It was a restaurant scene and I can't remember if Sandler and Spade were waiters coming around with the cheese grater thing or what it was, but Farley was just a customer in the restaurant... And before the sketch, Farley says to Sandler "I'm gonna getcha in this one..." Sandler "dude you're barely in it... You can't get me..." And so Sandler comes around with the cheese grater or pepper grinder or something and asks Farley and the woman playing his wife if they want some more ________ and Farley just unloads with a bellowing "WHY YES!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!" and Sandler loses it... Trying to not look at the camera. The best always did it for the rest of the cast and if the audience came along for the ride, then bonus....
