  1. Just sayin' if Fantuz is our best then Canadian receiver is pretty bad.
  2. Guys, let's just thank our lucky stars road_griller hasn't decided to join us. I like the group we've got here.
  3. Again, not saying much. Comparing Fantuz to the best of even a few years ago he doesn't even make the list. There is no great canadian receiver anymore. No Joe Polawski, no Ray Elgaard, no Tony Gabriel. Peter Dalla Riva, Terry Evanshen... TJ Coffey, Rick House, Jim Young, Ken Nielsen or Rudy Linterman. I'd take all those guys over Fantuz. Even a healthy Robb Bagg.
  4. I defer to all your advice & say okay. Maybe official... but not BETTER!!
  5. The only thing is, if you have a Canadian at starting tailback then you need a backup Canadian as well. Due to the fact if the starting canadian back goes down, he has to be replaced by an American ball carrier. If there isn't one then it starts a ratio chain reaction. OTOH, if an American starting back goes down & he's replaced by another then the ratio stays the same & less of an impact a single injury at that position would have on the team.
  6. Cornish & Harris are as good as any American backs in the CFL or better so if they can play then they are ratio breakers. Free to play an American somewhere else. That's why so valuable.
  7. I'd be flipping channels & lose everything for no reason. Then I'd have to call Bell & they'd have to troubleshoot which would turn into a 45 minute affair. Happened 7, 8 or more times a year in the 5 years I had Bell. So about 35 or 40 times overall. They sent me 2 new HD boxes during that time but it still kept happening. Even sent out a serviceman to check the connections but couldn't find any reason why I kept losing my channels. Got so frustrated one day, I just cancelled & went back to Shaw which I don't like to begin with but at least I don't lose my channels randomly or reception anymore when it rains or snows. Lesser of 2 evils.
  8. Satellite service is the same whether Bell or Shaw. Lousy. Expect interruptions due to weather & losing channels (satellite feed) for no reason thereby having to deal with the morons who work in customer service or the technical department. I was a Bell satellite customer & I kept losing my channels once every couple of months or have to deal with snowfalls of over 1cm or a local downpour when I'd lose reception. I got so tired of the technical problems that I went back to cable.
  9. If the CIS & NCAA can produce backs that can play than why not? There's another Canadian back in Calgary who because of Cornish won't play much. Matt Walter may be prime to be drafted by Ottawa this December.
  10. At 30, it doesn't mean Riggs can't be a short term fix.
  11. Coker is built like a gazelle. He's really light. He's been injured at times the past 2 seasons. Can't take the pounding.
  12. Not to get into semantics but a team website doesn't make it the "official" site.
  13. Gerald Riggs showed well when he played for the Argos. Coker isn't very big... I don't think he's 200 lbs. He's built for speed. Riggs is the kind of back who could carry the ball 20 times a game while Coker can't.
  14. How are the fantasy leagues doing?
  15. This over/under thing... I dunno. It's a guy's career we're talking about here. I don't wish an injury on anyone. Except Adriano Belli. Hope he slips in the shower.
  16. I saw the play. I watched the game. With all due respect, Reilly chucked it as hard as he could. It was more of a lucky throw than a good one. No way Reilly's THAT GOOD to be able to thread the needle 50 yards downfield under pressure when he threw the fooball without a lot of luck. If he was, he'd be a starting NFL qb going to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Things worked out on that particular play for Reilly & Koch. Later, on an easier throw Reilly waited a second too long & had the pass picked off in the end zone. Likie I said, it all came together for Reilly & Koch on the long td play.
  17. Think the Bombers would bring back kent to play Sam or has that ship sailed?
  18. As long as the penalties are so light teams will cheat. Last year was the first year since the SMS came in that all teams abided by it. The first time! So, if I was a GM & I had to pay a penalty of dollar for dollar for being over the cap, say in the neighbourhood of $50,000 to $100,000 to win a GC by sign an impact player to get my team over the top, I'd do it. And that is the problem. GMs should be fined as well & not just the teams.
  19. I happen to think that Toronto could win a Grey Cup without Owens. But not without Ray. That being said, Travis Lulay carried the Lions on his back at times last season. I think in the CFL, without a great qb teams lose. Therefore picking Owens at #1 & Lulay at #2 was wrong. Where would the Als be without Calvillo? Look at us when Buck didn't play. Calgary would have been hooped without Glenn. So, a return guy & receiver at #1, don't agree.
  20. Bill Belichek is a prick & he can get away with it as he's won 3 Super Bowls. Hugh Campbell was like that but he won 5 Grey Cups. Losing coaches & GMs can't do that. Hervey strikes me as a GM who is confident to the point of being cocky. If I was an Eskimo fan, I could care less about the way he treats the media but I'd be ticked I had to wait till mid Sunday morning to find out about final roster moves. Lesson number one. Don't piss off the fanbase.
  21. Fantuz had a terrible season in Hamilton yet he makes it at #45? All I saw out of Fantuz was the dropsies.
  22. It's the kind of a play as a defensive coach drives you nuts. You see plays similar to this at the lower levels of football. Like bantam or high school. Not to such a dramatic extent as Reilly's throws obviously but a young qb throws up a duck into the stratosphere twenty yards downfield. Looks like a bomb from a B 52 coming down falling like a stone. The dbs just freeze & watch it come down into a receivers hands. Hate those plays.
