  1. We can't say Reilly looked out of place though & with playing time should only get better. But let's face it, Reilly heaved that football 50 yards on a wing & a prayer. If anybody says he put the football in the only spot where the receiver could catch it then they are crazy. You can't aim for accuracy on a throw like that. Reilly was just hoping his receiver (Koch) would make a play on the football & he did. The receiver made that touchdown play. Reilly should take Koch out for dinner as he made him look good.
  2. Yes, I should have clarified that point, sorry. Rosters were submitted. The CFL is a gate driven league & for the team to thumb its nose at their fans & the media is a bad move by Hervey. The CFL probably thought that as soon as 8 pm came last night, all teams would submit their rosters & PR & then announce them. I don't think the CFL envisioned the Eskimos doing what they did. Last year it was Saskatchewan taking their time but even they weren't as bad as the Esks. Fourteen hours after the deadline? That's not good. Imagine if Joe Mack had done that here?
  3. Media & fans are not happy up in Edmonchuk as Ed Hervery & those silly Eskimos waited 14 hours before announcing their team cuts & PR. Didn't post anything on their website until 10 am this morning. I see this as a PR slap in the face when all other 7 teams announced their rosters on time & yet Edmonton kept their fanbase in the dark for so long. Some fans are saying Hervey did this to pay back the Edmonton media for ignoring the team when it came to coverage compared to the Oilers. Some fans thought it was great. Some fans thought it was bush league & won't help the team relationship wise with the local media. Me, I think it's the height of arrogance to ignore their fanbase like that. Hoping the CFL can fine Edmonton for their actions. What's the point of having a deadline if it isn't followed?
  4. I'll be happy if this team is 4-4 or 5-5 around Labour Day. Then we can make a big push second half of the season. The one game they have to play well in this tear is the LD Sunday game in Regina. They can't get blown out again & need to go into Regina & win the game. That could define the entire season.
  5. Nick Moore looked like a very good receiver. Dropped that one pass though right in the hands, though.
  6. The CFL panel blasted Burke. Both Schultz & Climie. The only one who supported Burke was Dunigan but I got the impression he did that only to try to balance things out discussion wise.
  7. Lewis drives other team's fans crazy but he is a beast. The guy is an awesome receiver. He isn't the fastest but is easily the most physical. Rider fans hate him which makes it even more special.
  8. Richardson's production really fell off last year & then he was injured. His reputation is from previous years which is unfortunate.
  9. Where was Jon Cornish & Andrew Harris ranked?
  10. You think 4? I think that's a bit high. I'd say 2 to 3 per car average. If things work on Thursday we'll know here. I'm in town for the Argo game. We plan on doing the Park & Ride from St. Vital Shopping Centre so I'll be interested in seeing how things work out.
  11. When I think of great receivers in the CFL, I don't think of Chad Owens. But if you talk returners, he's definetly number 1. Is he the best? He had the most yardage but I still think of him primarily as a ST player. He fumbles way too many times for my liking. I think Lulay is #1.
  12. Reilly looked sharp although his first TD pass was a bit of a fluke going perfectly between 2 defenders to Koch for the score. The football gods evened things up with the Lions interception in the end zone.
  13. My house is okay. We are dry. The rain finally ended around dinner time Friday. But it's shocking what has happened. Glad we live on higher ground. Lots of people have lost everything.
  14. Huh? Why is saying just their first names mean he's friends with them? We know who he refers to.
  15. I'm just surprised that with a crowd of 33,500 only 10-12,000 would take a bus. I thought it'd be closer to 20,000.
  16. Thought there'd be some reaction to the halftime discussion about the Bombers game Thursday night in Guelph vs Ti Cats. Schultz & Climie didn't like the Bombers approach but Dunigan did.
  17. Porter, like Adrian McPherson with the stellar CFL career.
  18. Career CFL backup. Seemed happy to carry the clipboard. Being #2 more important than being #1. Nope.
  19. Montreal Gazette's Herb Zurkowsky tweeted that Porter asked for his release a week ago when it became clear he wouldn't be the backup to AC. Guess Hawkins said no. Gave him one last shot yesterday.
  20. Hope you're still laughing after our game with Montreal next week. #ToBeRevisited.
  21. Well, like I said we'll find out in less than a week. Let's hope we play well & win the game. That's all we can hope for, right?
  22. There's a sentiment among people here that it was only an exhibion game. That we left our starters at home but we'll be alright so who cares? I know I don't have to remind anyone that next week this team faces the Montreal Alouettes & Anthony Calvillo. I don't feel that Burke & his staff has this team prepared or ready to play. Too much worry about injuries to key people. Too much coddling of Pierce. Buck hasn't played much football since 2011 & now he'll be expected to shake off the rust, go out & perform at a high level against a very good football team. Our vets should have played together as a unit for the first half. I see this as approach as a huge mistake. I guess I'll find out if I'm right or wrong in a week's time. Sure hope I am wrong.
  23. Rotating every series is a head scratcher. Give each guy a quarter & like Hall said, establish a rhythm.
  24. Guys, feeling smug about losing a game by 52 points? Come on. Who's really laughing at who here?
