  1. well that's cause teams are just blitzing all the time... How about instead of harping about the o-line we start doing some things to slow down the blitz? Drop a pass in behind the blitzers and make them back off. Should be lots of room out there, why aren't we taking advantage of that? The QB doesn't even have enough time to get a pass behind them. If you can stomach it rewatch the game and count the number of times the QB is picking himself up off the turf. Hamiltons D isn't even any good and they are able to shred our line. Yeah the qb is picking himself up because the team isn't doing anything to slow down the blitz.. Teams are just loading up and sending more than we can block because they have no fear of the bombers burning them. You want the qbs to stop taking hits then they HAVE to get the ball out quickly otherwise it'll be 7 or 8 guys coming all the time and you can't block that many people.

  3. I'm hijacking this into a PGT since I'm too lazy to make one. Brown is really fired up about the coaches, ready to string Creehan up.
  4. did he say no to Porter? That's what it sounded like. The easy answer would be for them to just bring Brink back and call that a solution.
  5. I agree, with a more veteran team that has had consistency at all positions it might have worked better but as it is just not happening.
  6. It seems to me that the biggest change is taking a lot of the thinking out of it. Based on comments from everyone involved it seemed like Crowton had a lot of "if this then do that" built in and maybe our players just can't handle that.
  7. Reilly to Edmonton was decided before BC traded him! That's the whole point here. Wally being the all-time great GM was trying to either con more from Winnipeg or use the possibility of WInnipeg being interested to get more out of Edmonton. Reilly was going to Edmonton, Buono just tried to get more than he did already by including Winnipeg. Mack knew what was happening and didn't make a trade where he couldn't talk to the player before it was completed.
  8. Well I've given up on the playoffs after they lost to Hamilton last week, I just want some company down here so there's other people to laugh at.
  9. He put up more yards then any of our guys have this year lol! and 4 ints! Montreal was damned lucky to win that one. BC completely **** their pants on that last drive. And offensively all game long.
  10. so everyone prematurely on the marsh bandwagon off again?
  11. and Marsh with another back breaking int.... but the lions offense just crowton-esque. The **** show continues.
  12. Elliott yes since he showed something... Brink was not a questionable move... the guy showed no progress at all in his time with us. I agree with that, but still he had shown some ability at least. Some more protection he might have been servicable.
  13. conversely the Lions containment on him looks absolutely horrid.
  14. they were only ever there to fill out the roster of teams that bluto's Boatmen beat every week... last i checked Stoddard's Heroes were the team to beat... playing in a tougher division and all that
  15. all I know is Harris better get himself a bloody touchdown tonight.
  16. Not sure if it's the rain but what a sloppy game so far. BC does not look good but lucky for them Montreals qbs aren't doing much of anything.
  17. I don't know why we're so focussed on Reilly anyway, Elliott and Brink were more questionable moves in my mind. Two guys that the team had invested a lot of time in who had shown varying degrees of progress.... wasted 3 years with that move.
  18. imo, maybe Mack didn't go after him hard enough and it wasn't such a slam dunk he going to EE, I mean, how do you know if you don't try? and haven't spoken to him, like you said, to find out? or Mack wisely smelled Wallys bullshit and decided not to play that game. Wally wasn't trying to do any favours to Reilly or help rival teams, he was looking out for #1 like he always does. The most logical assumption here is that Wally knew Reilly was going to Edmonton, Edmonton wanted to get it done right away rather than waiting until free agency and a possible change of mind for Reilly and Wally tried to get himself a bigger return by using Winnipeg to either get assets from them or leverage Edmonton into paying more. Say what you want about Mack but he didn't get involved in that bullshit.
  19. The point I was trying to make actually was that having a strong arm doesn't mean a guy will be a top QB. Yes Bishop and Jackson had more success that Dinwiddie but there are also QBs who weren't overly blessed with arm strength who have had a lot more success than Bishop and Jackson. Doug Flutie immediately comes to mind.
  20. The actual Walters quotes or the editorializing that was done by the author of the piece? You know what Walters said? "I don't know that there needed to be fence-mending, but certainly I made a point to touch base with everybody," little different than what you're trying to say right?
  21. I wholeheartily agree. I really hope that when the time comes to hire a GM, they keep in mind that it wasn't the concepts that Mack tried to instill that failed, it was his execution and his stubborn refusal to budge from his original plan that failed. Let's hope they don't do the "Let's hire a guy who is the complete opposite of Mack", because the last time they did that, Reinebold replaced Cal Murphy. I don't know that he was that stubborn so much as he just knew he could find talent without having to overpay. To me the biggest flaw in Macks time as GM was not getting a quality head coach in there who would hire a quality coaching staff. The two biggest things that determine success in the CFL are quarterbacking and coaching. I wonder what might have been with our quarterbacks with different coaching... guess we'll see glimpses of that starting now. They did appear more effective with Lapo around though his ultra conservative style didn't do the team any favours in terms of wins.
  22. ouch, that is a hell of a lot of important people missing.
  23. Just want to see them play quarterbacks not named Buck Pierce, that is very important for next season. Gotta see what's there.
  24. This, so much this. No need to invent things to be critical of, there's plenty of real things. This city just NEEDS a scapegoat and for the Bombers it was Mack. He was the devil himself to some people. Yeah no one is going to question his firing, his record is what it is, but let's not discredit some of the good things the guy did do.
  25. Kool aid is way better than Haterade.
