The dream was never alive except in a few crazy peoples heads.

Did you read what I actually typed? Because that's the problem here. It's not good press vs. bad press, it's good writers vs. bad writers.

And Winnipeg is a **** hole too. Weren't you complaining about Calgary in another thread? Calgary has it's own problems, but as a city I like it a hell of a lot more than Winnipeg or Edmonton.

Actually most are okay with Sunseri. There is no replacing Durant but the Riders are a veteran team with a tonne of talent. Tino doesn't have to force anything. Is it really the case that "most are okay with Sunseri" or is it, You don't really have a choice other than to go with Sunseri.Well, we have no choice but most are confident that Tino will do "okay." He's not Darian but he'll do fine. His completion percentage this year is 52% (Sunseri) that's less than Alex Brink, only 5% better than Troy Smith.... That average sucks but how many balls has he thrown? A comparable number to Brink at least. Not like his job is going to get any easier either, he's got a lot of games against tough defenses to look forward to.

It's not about portraying things in a good way or a bad way, it's about the quality of the reporting or the quality of the opinions in the columns. Both are bad because Weicek doesn't care enough and because Lawless is a self important ******* who just likes to hear his own ramblings. He's basically a professional Nasty Nate.

How? Well Wild is injured, so if we cut Kuale then there is at least one defensive formation we can't run. Unlikely Kuale goes anywhere this year. You're better off hoping he gets less snaps once Wild is healthy, or that we go Wild-Kromah for the rest of the year. Given the apparent complexity of the defence, replacing a MLB would not be as simple as it would be in a Greg Marshall 4-3. That's almost plug and play. This requires familiarity. You can cut Kuale easily. Give his spot on the roster to Sears because despite Sears being smaller he does nothing but make plays. Kuale does nothing but take penalties and show up a second late to make a play. Good plan until Sears goes down which history tells us it will be sooner than later. I really like Sears to but not his dependability in being able to play. We have Wild and Kromah to play that position already though.... The fact that Kuale is on this roster and Sears isn't is criminal absolutely criminal. If he is healthy Sears is a guy you make room for.

Who said the run is not a problem?17to85 replied to Maudie fingerjammer's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion It is a statistic. Nothing more. Sometimes it directly reflects what happened in a game, sometimes it does not. Might as well look at a passer rating and try to do play-by-play off of it. Where would you place the importance of establishing a run, i.e, usually one indicator being yards produced? My educated guess and a guess it is, is that usually when a QB throws for over 250/300 yds in a game, the run game has produced as well, say over 80 yds. Establishing the run is important, but being able to pass the ball is more important. If your passing game isn't effective you won't be able to consistently win. Big plays are very important. In some ways the Riders are Winning in the same way the Bomber were winning in 2011. Don't **** up by turning the ball over and count on the defense making enough big plays to win the game. We all saw how sustainable that was.

Wiecek not realizing how incredibly asinine this question is is the main reason they should have left him at the racetrack covering the ponies. He'd be happier. We'd be happier. Guaranteed the Sept 23 edition of the FP will re-visit the need to airlift in help. SOS, this is an SOS! I hate that the implication is that the only thing they should be looking for are star players. I want to see better depth here because that's what killing us. When they're healthy this team is pretty solid, but as soon as guys start going down with injury it predictably gets dicey.

There was at least two illegal blocks on the Stoudemire return if one wants to play that game. Yeah we've seen that post from a rider fan, the was only one possible illegal block on that and it had no bearing on the return, which is likely why it wasn't called.
-
Yeah but you'd end up in Edmonton and no one needs that.

The more you have to deal with Rider fans the more you wish for bad things to happen to their players. Really? Some of you guys take things way too personal. If you weren't a Rider fan you would feel exactly the same way. You're one of the inmates in the asylum, of course you don't see how ******** you collectively are. Everyone else sees it though, No other fanbase in the CFL has anything but disdain for the Rider fan base. Y'all are annoying as all hell.

Has Durant really declined this year? Until recently he had a **** receiving corps and the Riders just ran all the time.

Welcome to fan bias. It's the same type of crazy behavior that makes someone suggest Tino Sunseri is equal to Drew Willy. That's not what I said. Read it again really slowly. Oh sure it is. You are basically implying that you think Sunseri was as good as Willy before WIlly got to prove what he could do. The difference is? You're just speculating on Sunseri and we know what Willy can do now. You can try and argue sublantics all you want but basically it all boils down to "Sunseri is as good as Willy" I've seen other Rider fans make those claims too, some even went so far as to say he was better.
-
Do you think the respective fan bases have anything to do with that? They absolutely do. I wish nothing but pain and misery on Rider fans. Lions fans never show up let alone being the biggest pains in the ass out there so there's no reason to relish Lulay being hurt.
-
it's as simple as this: On Sunday Durant was 8 of 9 passing and Sunseri was 2 of 5.... you really think the offense doesn't change with a drop off like that in the passing game? Durant was doing just enough to move the sticks with the heavy run game, Sunseri was not. We have seen it time and time again in the CFL, the more film you get on young qbs the more they are exploited by defenses. Durant, a guy who is a proven 5000 yard passer and Grey Cup winner has to be given a lot of respect as an opposing defense, Sunseri? Who the **** is that kid? Take the run away and make him prove that he can actualyl beat you with his arm.
-
Durant is totally important. He is a warrior and one of the top two or three qbs in the CFL and there is nobody I would rather have leading the Riders into the playoffs. Why does that mean that Sunseri sucks? Nobody is saying Sunseri sucks. You should learn to identify a middle ground. In his snaps that he has played Sunseri has shown potential to be a solid CFL quarterback. He looked good against BC and not so good against the Bombers. Difference? The Riders had a big lead on the Bombers so they went into a conservative mode. Against BC Sunseri actually led the Riders to a victory. Maybe I'm wrong and Sunseri will suck but I'm cautiously optimistic he'll do a good job. I think you guys would feel the same in the same situation, what? they threw the ball downfield more with Sunseri in the game than they did with Durant in the game, and Sunseri didn't hit his receivers. That's a bullshit argument to even try and make. So he didn't lead the Riders to a win over the Lions or you are talking about the Bomber game? The bolded is what I'm talking about. They didn't go any more conservative against Winnipeg, I would even say they got more aggressive because they actually took shots down field with him when the most Durant did in the game was a few passes to Dressler. Durants passes were on target though and worked whereas Sunseri didn't complete his passes and led his offense off the field. So don't give me that crap about them going conservative. They went "conservative" because that's all they could bloody do.

The Riders have been winning because they've been avoiding turnovers and generating a bunch themselves... let's see if a wet behind the ears qb can avoid turnovers as well, somehow I doubt they will be able to.

I am not asking for major player changes, I'm asking for a guy who can push Romby Bryant as our depth receiver, I'm asking for a defensive end who can make it so that playing a hurt Vega all year isn't the best option. I wand a backup linebacker who can push the useless Kuale to the bench. The fact that the offseason recruiting didn't pick up these things is a concern. Your depth should be the guys you recruit each year and we didn't do a good enough job. Most of the key pickups were CFL experienced guys, which is great but if you don't supplement them with your own import talent you're going to be hit harder by injuries.

2 Games ;2 Losses; 0 Holding Calls on Riders17to85 replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion Speaking of fallacies, I never blamed the refs I simply stated the obvious. But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your desire to argue ANY point. so then why are you arguing with me about the refs?

2 Games ;2 Losses; 0 Holding Calls on Riders17to85 replied to sportmentary2012's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion This statement is probably the worst statement out of the entire thread; it really proves what kind of person you are. I'll repeat just because someone disagree's with your opinion, remember it is an opinion in the end and there is no such thing as a wrong or right opinion, doesn't mean it is as you would call it, stupid. Speaking of stupid ****..... That's the single biggest problem with the world today, people actually believe that nonsense. Just because you have an opinion means it can't be wrong? **** right off, there are lots of wrong opinions out there. Everyone is entitled to their opinions that much is true, but that doesn't make every opinion valid and I am entitled to tell people when their opinions are wrong.
