  1. IMO starting 4 or 5 Canadians on the OL is an outdated and overrated idea. A Canadian starter is worth just as much no matter where they start. It used to be feasible to cram all your Canadians on the OL, but defensive lines have greatly overtaken the offensive lines in recent years from a pure talent perspective. I agree, with the way defensive lines are playing these days I see more teams moving towards using 1 or 2 americans on the offensive lines more and more just to try and protect qbs. Canadian receivers are as able as their american counterparts, canadian runningbacks are starting to show up more and more, even seeing some linebackers and dbs stepping up. The days of just throwing 5 of your 7 Canadian starters on the OL are quickly coming to an end.
  2. Do you even follow the NHL? This post suggests no. It's Nate, he just strings words together in the hopes people will give him the time of day.
  3. To be fair though, putting the west leg where they did probably services a lot more people. Trying to get it down to Mount Royal would have been pretty silly since the city ends at the reserve just past there.
  4. yeah it was 0-5. Fricken Lapo and his ultra conservative approach in the GC game, that's loser coaching. Glad we got a coach with some balls now who plays to win.
  5. Gotta pay your stars when they've won 2 cups already. How much it handcuffs the team going forward depends on how much the cap rises.
  6. Now I am as pleased with the start as anyone but we would all do well to keep in mind that this is the CFL and the first 2 weeks of the season can often be an extension of preseason, that is they don't always mean a whole lot in terms of how teams and players seasons will go.
  7. A lot of people raved about their winter seasonal too but I thought it tasted really foul, wasn't a fan.
  8. The problem with transit in Calgary is that it is great for getting people to and from downtown, but as soon as you have to go anywhere else it is a giant pain in the ass and winds up taking forever.
  9. At this point I'd give the guy a rather lengthy deal to keep being the head coach. I'm sold already and the last thing I want is for him to bugger off back to southern ontario.
  10. Those are both big losses for the stamps. Guess we'll see what the depth can do for them.
  11. Always BPA, within reason of course.
  12. But what kind from Granville Island? I quite like their English Bay Pale Ale, I know people who enjoy their maple cream ale as well.
  13. I'd expecting nothing less from O'Shea to be honest. His MO since he was hired was to protect players in public. It's a real change from how things were handled last year. Who knows what gets said in the film room though.
  14. So we take out someone who has been a weapon for us at RB in order to play a national at RB and who knows how well he can even do that anymore... How does that make it any more of a solution than keeping our international runningback who has produced well and opting to solve the ratio problems by giving one of the defensive players who have shown good things this season more playing time? For a team that uses americans at the RB position signing a national running back who is only a running back and not a special teamer isn't a solution it's a frivolous signing made only because of name recognition.
  15. Good point - with Messam in the line up we totally would have won the first two games of the season...oh wait... Well at least we would have been able to run the ball effectively in those wins...
  16. They both suck so I'm not too worried about them. It's Alex Brink that we have to be scared of in my opinion. Oh a sarcasm detector, that's a real useful invention
  17. Oh, *this* comment. Our third string running back is averaging over 100+ yards from scrimmage a game and just had 3 majors, the guy we're talking about doesn't play special teams and ... you think it's a bad decision? but I've HEARD of Messam, clearly that means he's a great player!!!! trouble is people forget that the CFL is 9 teams and used to be 8, chances are you've heard of everyone.
  18. Never heard the story, do you have details for us? I don't think it's one specific story so much as those two liked to have fun
  19. He clipped his facemask that's pretty undeniable, now do you consider that hitting a guy in the head?
  20. shush, the sooner people get eliminated the sooner I can win
  21. Good that was a real piece of crap move to make that hit.
  22. Willis led with his helmet I knew there would be some type of fine after seeing it.
  23. I will jump on the Grigsby bandwagon as well.
  24. It's not that the media are too easy on the Bombers, they're hard on them make no mistake about it, they just lack the ability to know what kinds of questions to ask for the most part. They play favourites with individuals based on their expectations of how they should be treated as the all knowing and all powerful media.
