  1. Guess you'll just have to wait and see how many guys they add to the PR when it expands. PR has nothing to do with an 'airlift'... you know that. Airlift is bringing in starters - every year the PR expands after NFL cuts Find a situation where a good team (we are over .500) brought a CFL rookie up from down south and put them onto their roster in the 2nd half of the season in this decade (2010s). We did last year because it was basically an extended 2014 training camp and we basically lost our entire OL at one point so Knapp and Jones got tossed to the wolves. Just doesn't happen. That's easy, Kenton Keith. not so easy because he's not applicable to the stated criteria.
  2. but then good luck getting free agents to sign there. Glenn already tells everyone who will listen how much he doesn't like how he was treated, how do you think it will look if they trade their jewel of a free agent qb less than a year in? No one is going to want to go to a place where they won't even give you a year before getting tired of you.
  3. You're talking about one player so let's close the door on the rest of them too.... Do you have a source on who the rest of these players are? Cause there's Matthews (not coming north), Hall (most likely not coming north, seems to be limited interest from both CFL teams and Hall), Hunt (injured) and Damaso Munoz. Well you just named 4, now how about draft picks and neg list, you got those too are we to assume that none of those are panning out either? Well Kyle Walters talked about the draft picks on the CJOB pre-game show last weekend, directly from his mouth "None of those guys are coming to the CFL this year, they're going to try and exhaust every NFL option the remainder of this year"
  4. We can look at the recent past and see how NFL cuts are handled in todays CFL... unless it's a guy who has previously played here, the guys you add when NFL cuts are willing to come to the CFL generally sit on the PR for a while before they get to play, if they get to play at all. If you are plugging a new to the CFL NFL cut directly into the lineup it's because you are desperate for a warm body. The days of NFL cuts coming in and instantly starting and making a difference are long over.
  5. this is why we need that bye week already. Let some people get healthy. Cripes we were shallow on DL to start with, this is ridiculous.
  6. To raise the IQ of your average friend by 50 points? No I'm quite comfortable with Noeller being a dumbass.
  7. The ironing would be delicious. I'd almost like to see it just to see all the headlines/ story lines. It's always nice to have a crisp, clean shirt on but I'm not really sure how that applies here... and I wouldn't strongly advise against tasting the ironing to see how delicious it is... Dude it's a quote from The Simpson's. Never mind that it's one of the most used lines on the internet. God, I hate people... It just bottles the mind that people continually miss references.
  8. I would rather trolls than the patronizing we get from this bunch. Why do I want to be friends with a rider fan?
  9. And what does that tell your your qb that all these rider fans have been jerking off since Durant got hurt? "Sorry Tino but we don't have faith in you so we're going to bring in an old qb in the midst of a crappy season"
  10. Why exactly have you been so chummy with franc then? well I wouldn't say I've been chummy, haven't we been arguing about the banjo bowl for days now? besides, it's a name that I've seen around other forums a lot, I feel like I have an understand of what kind of poster he is.
  11. Which is pretty damning when it comes to the guys on the beat isn't it? When the guy who only covers them part time knows more about what's going on than the guys on the beat full time. This is why we complain about the papers so much.
  12. I'd rather deal with Migs than the people who come around trying to kiss asses and sing kumbaya and pretend we're all friends here. At least with folks like that they know they're straight up homers and don't actually believe the superiority crap.
  13. Do you think the respective fan bases have anything to do with that? They absolutely do. I wish nothing but pain and misery on Rider fans. Lions fans never show up let alone being the biggest pains in the ass out there so there's no reason to relish Lulay being hurt. When the hell is it ever ok to hope for injuries? I don't care if the fans are being shits. That's no reason to hope for or be happy for someone getting hurt. My god, some of you people. I just told you, when it involves a certain piece of **** fan base.
  14. it gets hot for a while in the summer, but it's basically a desert so there's not much humidity and it's not the real muggy heat that you see in Manitoba, this also results in it getting quite cool when the sun goes down. Back in Manitoba you could wear shorts all night and never notice, but in Calgary if you're going to be outside all night chances are you better have a jacket and pants with you. It's not even the altitude that makes for the screwy weather we get, that's all because of the mountains being right there that screws things up for us. Does weird things to the air coming over them and you never know what you're going to get for weather.
  15. I've driven through a snow storm in July in Saskatchewan before. This country of ours sometimes gets bizarre weather no matter what part of it you're in.
  16. On the other hand its better to have them in the 2nd half. It would have been nice to have one about 2 weeks ago, that was kind of the peak time for having guys playing with some various hurts. Getting that week without playing to get some guys healed up likely would have led to less injuries since and maybe gotten some bodies back. That's the real issue with waiting so long, we got a lot of guys who are playing through injuries who would likely do well to get a week off and heal up a bit more.
  17. Bullshit. Do you really expect me to believe that a city with the corporate clout like Calgary has doesn't have an amazing entrepreneurial spirit? The number of businesses here both big and small would probably blow your mind. Oil and gas is a huge industry that requires a hell of a lot of support services to run, that's not even getting into the businesses that serve the population in general. It's a big city here, much bigger than Winnipeg, lot of people need their services.
  18. so like Noeller said, go with Tait.
  19. The dream was never alive except in a few crazy peoples heads.
  20. Did you read what I actually typed? Because that's the problem here. It's not good press vs. bad press, it's good writers vs. bad writers.
  21. And Winnipeg is a **** hole too. Weren't you complaining about Calgary in another thread? Calgary has it's own problems, but as a city I like it a hell of a lot more than Winnipeg or Edmonton.
  22. Actually most are okay with Sunseri. There is no replacing Durant but the Riders are a veteran team with a tonne of talent. Tino doesn't have to force anything. Is it really the case that "most are okay with Sunseri" or is it, You don't really have a choice other than to go with Sunseri.Well, we have no choice but most are confident that Tino will do "okay." He's not Darian but he'll do fine. His completion percentage this year is 52% (Sunseri) that's less than Alex Brink, only 5% better than Troy Smith.... That average sucks but how many balls has he thrown? A comparable number to Brink at least. Not like his job is going to get any easier either, he's got a lot of games against tough defenses to look forward to.
  23. It's not about portraying things in a good way or a bad way, it's about the quality of the reporting or the quality of the opinions in the columns. Both are bad because Weicek doesn't care enough and because Lawless is a self important ******* who just likes to hear his own ramblings. He's basically a professional Nasty Nate.
  24. How? Well Wild is injured, so if we cut Kuale then there is at least one defensive formation we can't run. Unlikely Kuale goes anywhere this year. You're better off hoping he gets less snaps once Wild is healthy, or that we go Wild-Kromah for the rest of the year. Given the apparent complexity of the defence, replacing a MLB would not be as simple as it would be in a Greg Marshall 4-3. That's almost plug and play. This requires familiarity. You can cut Kuale easily. Give his spot on the roster to Sears because despite Sears being smaller he does nothing but make plays. Kuale does nothing but take penalties and show up a second late to make a play. Good plan until Sears goes down which history tells us it will be sooner than later. I really like Sears to but not his dependability in being able to play. We have Wild and Kromah to play that position already though.... The fact that Kuale is on this roster and Sears isn't is criminal absolutely criminal. If he is healthy Sears is a guy you make room for.
